  1. Thanks; that's what I was thinking as well. It is in the middle of the week, we are the only cruise ship in town and mid-day. So, unless something weird happens, I'll ask for the early departure from the ship and head over to airport. Hopefully being there by 930 or so; plus we are already on the TSA pre-check line anyway which should help out too.

  2. We are on the Carnival Legend and picked a flight post cruise leaving @ 1145 from Seattle. Considering that Carnival will be the only ship docking on a Tuesday I thought the customs process might go quicker. I know the weekends have multiple ships.

I'm thinking as long as we get off the ship by 0800ish, that should put us catching a taxi at 845ish and off to the airport, hopefully arriving around 930ish.

    Sound reasonable????

  3. It all depends on your PVP and how nice they want to be. Typically, they charge a minimum of $50 to change, but that depends on location and categories and if they are available cabins.

The worst thing they can say is no.

Also, it might depend on whether you have made final payment or not. Again, they don't like to make changes for reservations that have already been paid in full.

    Give it a shot

  4. For all those folks that were looking for the VIFP offers (premium pack n go), there were back on the Carnival website this morning. This appears to be going up and down on their website. So, you better act quick and lock in.

You can always do what I did, reserve something on the website with a 24 hour hold. Then call your Carnival travel agent or other agent to actually book it. That way it gives you some time and you don't lose out. When we were booking our Alaska cruise last week, the rooms were being sold out as quick as I was refreshing my computer.

I love this rates and thank you Carnival for offering these!!!!!

Can't beat our Alaska cruise for $506 total for 2 people.

  5. I guess we were very lucky that I checked my wife's VIFP offer and got booked on the 23 June Alaska cruise yesterday.

This special was supposed to run until 2 March but I now see that Carnival has taken down the specials. I guess they had a mad rush or something and sold too many cabins for basically nothing but the taxes. I went on last night and they were there, but this morning all the rates are back to the normal amounts.

  6. Need some opinions on these 2 tours. We are pretty much narrowed it down to these 2 tours for Belize, so wanted to hear pros/cons on both. I think I'm leaning toward the Altun Ha only because it is closer to the port and not as long of a day as Xunantunich tour, but that can be changed easily. I understand the Xunantunich is bigger but not sure it is that much bigger and better to justify the long tour length (7 hours).

Also, people have mentioned bug spray is needed. Any particular brand better to us since there is a lot of options at stores.

Thanks in advance for any feedback. We will be on the Carnnival Dream on 10 Aug so I'm imagining it will be very hot there that time of year.

  7. We will be staying at the Marriott New Orleans in Downtown. Anyone stayed there before and can provide feedback as far as proximity to everything. Also, any recommendations for restaurants.

We will be in New Orleans from Thursday night till Sunday (cruise leave then).

First time in New Orleans so would be interested in feedback.

    Thanks in advance

    Jay
