  1. We are booked at the Coast Getaway near the Seattle airport for 1 night prior to cruise. Anyone stayed there before and can provide feedback? Thanks in advance
  2. Quick question, we are flying in 13 Sept and booked a room at the Coast Getaway Hotel near the Seattle airport. Anyone ever stayed there before and can provide some review. On Expedia, they have a 9.2 rating which is very good. Thanks for any feedback. FYI, we will be doing Uber to the pier the next morning. Jay
  3. We are flying into Seattle on 13 Sept afternoon around 4. Debating on whether to just stay near the airport and Uber to the pier or stay in downtown Seattle, then Uber to pier. Where is everyone else staying, don’t want to spend a ton for a hotel just for 1 night. Thanks in advance for feedback. Senay & Jay
  4. Just google for BBB and AON Affinity and make your own decisions.
  5. I plan on contacting the SC insurance department for sure. We had three claims, 1 for medical exam on ship, I for trip interruption and the last one for change of flights due to COVID. The real issue they just aren’t replying at all. So waiting almost 4 months with no feedback on whether they accept or need something else. The BBB complaints are basically the same they just never respond to any claims. Who knows how long it will take, 3 months or 2 years. That really is the frustration piece.
  6. Carnival travel insurance is provided via AON Affinity. We’ve had our claim in with all documentations included from 2 July. I’ve called numerous times and only get their call center in the Philippines. They are nice but have no authority to do anything. Also, feel free to look up AON Affinity on the BBB website and there are tons of recent reviews on how really bad they are. I really can believe that carnival is hanging their hat with this company. Don’t get me wrong I support that people should get travel insurance but not from carnival or this company. If any attorneys would like an easy class action lawsuit, this one is prime and an easy win I’m sure. I’m probably going to have to consider small clams court or other legal actions to try and get some resolution on my own. Jay
  7. Just an update for anyone. We finally got back to the USA and I called AON yesterday. Got someone fairly quick on the phone. He said his name was Francis but he did say that it was a call center that he worked at. My guess since he was definitely Indian accent. But, his response was that he said the standard company line that we have had extended claims and it is taking more time. I asked why it has been 3.5 months to respond at all. I have only received several emails asking for patience. His response was that he would forward to his management team. That is total BS. I will be calling them daily now that we’re back and I have tons of free time. Also I filed a complaint with the BBB, not sure what that will do but it can’t hurt. Also considering calling their US home office in New York just to hassle them some. Anyone else having any luck with these scammers. I would highly recommend anyone to not ever use the carnival travel insurance. I can’t believe carnival is hanging their hat with these scammers,
  8. Anyone know which nights are the formal nights on the carnival 10 night Med cruise. Thanks in advance Jay
  9. Well we booked this cruise as well. We were originally going to do a B2B2B this March/April to include Australia, New Zealand and pacific islands. But we’re now going to cancel those and more than likely add on the 7 night after the luminosa docks in Australia like some are doing here. Definitely be interested in hearing about potential tours at the various ports since we’ve never been to many of these except for Alaska ports. But this gives us some planning to do for the next year. jay & Senay
  10. A little handy tool. Go by Walmart and buy one of these adapters for your cabin. This works like a charm and gives you an additional three plugs in the room. Comes in handy when you have to charge multiple phones, iPads, etc. If I remember correctly it only costs less than $5 and takes very little room in luggage.
  11. Just curious how the embarkation process was at Rome. Did they actually check your COVID tests or just let people through?
  12. Interesting that if you go to the carnival protocol page on their website there isn’t mention of testing for Greece as was originally noted in the letter. Not sure whether that was changed later. Our daughter is still getting the walgreen COVID test on Thursday morning before the cruise on Sunday. The letter had a 2 day requirement for Greece but can’t find that on the carnival protocol site just in the letter we received.
  13. But I’m assuming that it would have to be a proctored test?
  14. Following. The currency carnival guidance is not clear at all about Greece. We’ve just been on another cruise line thru the Greek island and never was asked about testing. We are in Athens today and they are testing the incoming passengers but not us on the B2B. The 2 day requirement in the carnival letter is hard to adhere to especially for US passenger flying in. Especially since if you are unvaccinated your requirement is still 3 days. Sounds backwards to me
  15. Can someone explain the Greece piece. Under vaccinated folks, testing is required within 2 days but if you are unvaccinated it doesn’t specify so testing can be 3 days prior. I’m hoping this was a typo error from carnival but nothing would surprise me about guidance from carnival.
  16. Ok, Carnival needs to learn how to put out policy and understand what each of their hands are doing. In the latest update, it states that if your B2B is more than 16 days then you will be tested in between cruises. Ok, got that, seems pretty simple and straight forward. However, if you go to the Carnival FAQ on the same policy, it states “Irrespective of vaccination status, all guests will be tested on board, between voyages, if the subsequent cruise is more than 16 days.” Subsequent cruise would mean the second cruise not a total of 16 days and it is singular tense meaning 1 cruise. If that is the policy then there would very few tests since the only way you would be tested if the second leg was a Transatlantic or some other very long cruise. Carnival get your stuff together when you are trying to give guidance!!!!
  17. We are connecting through Amsterdam later this fall from Rome. I’m hoping that we will not have any of these issues since we are just connecting through. We have a 2.5 hour layover. jay
  18. Just another quick update. The original email that I got from AON indicated it could take up to 21 business days to complete. Ironically, the 21st day was 1 August, so I received another email exactly on 1 August from them indicating that it will take longer since they have a backlog. I’m sure it was a automatically computer generated email and really has little to do with actual workload. So we continue the waiting game. Jay
  19. Will keep the thread up to date so that others might benefit from my hopefully positive results. I truly don’t except to hear anything from them for at least another month or so
  20. Will let people know how this comes out. But to answer your question, our original flight was seriously delayed due to a huge storm in charlotte that shut it down for a couple of hours. So that part was caused by inclement weather. Now the second part, the London flight leg (which is the one we missed) was going to be over 8 hours out of a total of probably 11 hours of total flight time from Myrtle beach to London. So the second part is covered as we would have missed probably close to 80% of our trip. I’m pretty sure they will argue just the opposite as you gave described but hopefully they will see it my way. Time will tell.
  21. the airfare paid less the value of applied credit from an unused travel ticket, to return home, join or rejoin the original Travel Arrangements limited to the cost of one-way economy airfare or similar quality as originally issued ticket by scheduled carrier, from the point of destination to the point of origin shown on the original travel tickets. In no event will the Company reimburse You for the cash value of Your airline ticket(s) purchased with frequent flier miles. this was under a second bullet in their trip interruption section. This is why I was claiming the new airfare to “join” the original cruise. Some of you are correct in that trip delay is limited to $500, but this seems to be not limited by that number. We will see what they say. I do have a medical claim as well as I would be shocked if they didn’t ask for our medical claim with our insurance so they can be secondary. That is pretty normal. Their 21 business days goes to early August. I’m sure they are not goin* to rush anything and I’ll be surprised I see anything before thanksgiving or even Christmas.
  22. Anyone have any positive feedback from using the carnival travel insurance which happens to be handled by AON Affinity? We had a terrible time via charlotte on our flight over to London. We missed our connection due original flight getting in 3 hours late. American Airlines couldn’t get us for several days so we ended up booking a replacement flight via Expedia. We just started the trip interruption process and are reading some really bad reviews that this insurance basically never pays anything. So just wondering what everyone else experiences have been. jay
  23. We have a 1:05 flight from Stansted and the ship is supposed to port at 0500. So we are anticipating getting off the ship around 0730 or 0800 which should give us plenty of time to get to Stansted airport. Looking for taxi or shuttle service and got a quote from blackberry service for 145 GBP but they require payment up front. Anyone have suggestions or connections for rides would be appreciated. We will be disembarking the carnival Pride on 31 July. thanks jay
