  1. Thank you @JT1962 I appreciate it. I must have been mistaken. Everyone can disregard, question answered!!
  2. Anyone know if the first sailings for Mera out of NY have been changed to the 22nd instead of the beginning of the month? I was looking today and could have sworn the initial launch was the first week of April now it’s the 22nd? Could be me, but just checking.
  3. Celebrity has identified a very special but very high yield client and a lot of the brand and the new vessel designs are built toward this group. These are the guests who have the disposable income to cruise regularly and pay very high Luxury prices (Azamarra, Regent, Seabourne, SilverSea, etc) however, the age group of this market is younger than the average for those Luxury brands, and they demand a cutting edge modern ship with the space of a mega ship but the feel of a small ship. They want the best foods and the best service. They want the posh ambiance but a modern more energetic version. They want spaces that look good on “Insta” with a Prosecco or a Aperol Spritz in hand or on their table or in the shots. Chic is the idea and Celeb even named a formal night for it. They want more energy on board but without the main line generic feel. The brand appeals to alot of people however the target is this marketshare and is the bullseye as it provides ALOT of yield and profitability. An Iconic Suite for a 10-12 night sailing comes close to a few days on a Yacht Charter. Thats big money. Anyway, thats my $0.02. Being in my 40s if a sailing costs the same as a Regent or other Luxury brand, Ill take the Luxury brand every time. I however don’t have social media soooo…. Lol. Thats just me.
  4. Spot on an accurate by my observations. Heres the thought I want to drive home. Some have said, and I 100% agree that Summit, the vessel in the past has indeed been an outstanding experience in line with what all of us as core Celeb clients are used to. Absolutely she is a great vessel and I dont disagree with your opinion. This is the change—— RCG chose to run Summit on short 4ni cruises out of Miami for <200$ even some cases <150$ pp for an entire season. This is brand new and scheduled for 2022-2023 and again for 23-24. Trust me when I tell you that Booze Cruise buyers look first for their days off to match a ships sailing and then they check for cheapest rate and is there a drink package. Thats how the Celebrity brand is going to get watered down. These booze cruise customers dont give a darn whats painted on the side of the ship. I spoke to crew on board, high ranking included that said after just a month since coming from NY theyre burned out from the booze cruisers. They apologized to me for the experience but they too are victims of this marketing and theater that RCG and Celebrity management set up. I was in line for lunch with two young men in their 20s with no shirts or shoes only swim shorts. Nobody said a word. I walked off the ship after what was supposed to be a nice Thanksgiving with my family enjoying the Celebirty brand and experience and was really upset by what we had to endure for 4 days. We did this same cruise last yeat over TG on Millie, and it was a great typical Celebrity voyage from Ft Lauderdale. I digress. I really just want to save my fellow X veteran fellow clients from wasting your time and money and having a bad experience. Book a 7ni from Ft Lauderdale. Trust me please.
  5. Summit. The ship is programmed to do 5/4ni sailings through winter and early spring this year and next year. I believe the experience will vary with the lowest cabin fare for Interiors. As a TA I know from experience that many local southeast US residents will book the cheapest (X offering <150$pp Interiors) long weekend cruise out of Miami that has a drink package available and they really dont care what brand is painted on the side of the ship (or the shape of the funnel). I heard a few guests talking about how they liked Carnival better. Our holiday TG sailing was just that. It was the only short cruise over TG leaving the 24th or 23rd (convenient sched) and it was less than 200$pp for an interior. I would willing to say that a 5ni to Grand Cayman and Mex during off season like mid January or early Dec may be ok. Be very careful March-April until early May. Its Spring Break season there.
  6. I was just about to start a thread and saw this. Did a 4ni over Thanksgiving. Ship full to capacity. There were very loud and disruptive guests on board. The cruise was nothing like any of my 5 past Celebrity sailings. We were in Aqua and at least had Blu to goto at night for a quiter more reserved experience away from the masses. The cruise much more resembled a Carnival short cruise experience than that of a Celebrity brand experience. The crew is almost brand new and were already worn out. This I got first hand and even from the Concierge in confidence when I went to share my frustrations. Some guests had to be escorted back to their cabins for being too disruptive and extremely intoxicated in public area one night. Families with children had to leave public areas in early evenings due to the language and scene. With an Inside for 150$pp in South Florida, it is merely another short booze cruise, the X brand and experience is watered down almost completely. If you are looking for a true Celebrity brand experience please look toward a 7ni from Ft Lauderdale. If you could care less about a party scene and just drinking it up for a few nights then by all means this will be fine for you. Just as an aside several other well traveled Celebrity guests in Blu one evening were all sharing similar opinions and experiences. Of course YMMV so this is just one persons perspective.
