We have one bid still sat at pending. We cannot modify it either. Sail in three weeks so i guess its a waiting game. Some have had theirs change to submitted. Ours still pending. Our other 3 bids have finished.  So no idea whats going on tbh.

All of my bids have changed to submitted. Everything but SOVB can be modified.

  2. Has anyone else had a circumstance where you can modify all but one bid? We're in a balcony and my kids are across the hall in an inside. My 21yo son wasn't positive if he could go so we put them there in case my younger daughters were alone. They're both under 21. Once we knew he could go I bid on every category available. But once I bid I wasn't able to modify for a Spacious Balcony but I can modify everything else. It stinks because the only category currently available for a party of 3 is a spacious ovb. I would increase the bid if I could. I originally only bid a little more than minimum.

We were on the Harmony last week.  They had designated areas for the assigned boarding time.  Even if you arrive early you are still sent to your assigned time line.  We had a 10:30 check in time so I have no idea what happened to the lines behind us but they were checking…

That's good to hear. When we sailed in May it was just one long line.

Yes, you may.   I asked the porters one time a few months ago at Port Canaveral, how early they start accepting luggage for drop off.  I was shocked when he told me 7:30 am!!  Now, that would not be the case at all terminals...but it works for them there.

And to your question...absolutely, you can drop off your checked (and tagged) bags ahead of time with the porters at any cruise terminal with RCI.  I know of friends that will drop them off, then head out to get supplies (wine, etc.) or simply return the rental car in advance.  It then leaves you with just your carry on bags...quite the "freeing" feeling.  😉  And indeed...relaxing.

That's good to know. We're dropping off a rental next Saturday.  Maybe we can drop off luggage first.

Here's the issue. I live in Cape Canaveral. I stopped by Port Canaveral and viewed the line to get in the terminal- Harmony of the Seas, because we have family sailing on her next week.  The line was HUGE - HOURS long in a very hot parking garage.

I spoke a security guy. He said the line looks like that from noon to 3:00 p.m.  He said that there is absolutely NO line from about 10:00 am to noon and the doors to the terminal open at 10:00 a.m.  From noon to 3:00 p.m, the line is monsterous. Then after 3:00 p.m. there is no line once again.

So if we can get them there at 10:00 a.m. if would actually help shorten the busiest time of noon - 3:00 p.m.  Again, I witnessed this first hand.

Just wondering if they got there when the doors open at 10:00 a.m., would they let them check in or at least wait in the air conditioned terminal.

Here's a video of the line I'm speaking about.

In answer to why they didn't choose an earlier time. Noon was the earliest time available.

Yes. There are long lines because people don't adhere to their times and show up when it's convenient for them. Like you're planning on doing. I sailed on Harmony in May I showed up at 11:25 for an 11:30 check in. I ended up waiting for over an hour because no one as checking times. It's very frustrating. If you don't want to wait, switch the check in time to the latest available.

Just to add, instead of creating a new post, Azamara, Norwegian & Viking all joined the no more testing group earlier today for cruises from the US. RCI & Carnival can’t be far behind.

Where did you read that NCL is stopping testing for cruises from the US? Their website still says that testing is required.

    ETA

Actually Azamara and Viking websites also still state that testing is required from the US. Do you have a link?

Escape room was open end of May / first of June this year.  There is an extra charge, something like $10-$20 per person.  You can book through the App once you get onboard.

Johnny Rockets is an upcharge (haven't eaten here personally).  I am pretty sure it's a set fee upcharge and then all you can eat.  Drinks should be included with a refreshment package but that won't cover Milkshakes.

Schooner Bar is the piano bar, always filled every night.

OH - look for the stowaway Piano player.  He is on the move and won't be in any bar.  I think I've got some pics of him in my recent live Mariner review.

Is that a recent change? They used to be covered and it still says that they're covered on RCCL website.

If you use the app you can just grab your arrival time and do the rest later. You can also scan your passport instead of typing it in.

The big caveat of course is that the app has to actually be working. 🤣

That's what I do. Pick a boarding and go back at another time for everything else.

And the last 2 times I checked in it didn't actually open until 12:10 or 12:15.

  9. The same thing happened to my husband but eventually they caught on. LOL. He had 4 more points than the rest of the family for years. He hit Platinum before the rest of us. Then after we sailed on Harmony in May his point total only went up 3, so now we're equal. I have no idea where those points came from or how they finally figured it out.

  10. Are the rooms identical types with the same amount of people? It has nothing to do with booking one room and adding a second. It sounds like the first room that you booked didn't have an Guarantees available, but it was an option for the second room.

I don't look at it as them charging a fee to pick my room. I look at it as a discount if I choose not to pick my own room.

I hope they don’t juice it up and turn it into another Coco Cay. I like the more subtle, integrated with the surroundings feel

Me too. I actually preferred it years ago before the slide, zipline, cabanas, Barefoot Beach Club...

If I didn't receive an invite email do I have to wait until under 30 days to go directly to the Royal Up website?  I'm at a little over 60 days and keep getting the 30 day error.

You can keep trying. I didn't receive an email at all for my last 2 cruises. I was able to bid at 90 days out for one and 45 for the other. I just kept checking until it worked.

The CD can make a huge difference when you have a great one like John Blair - and his wife Katrina.  They are heads and shoulders above all of the other CD's.  And John is the only CD we have seen recently who actually does a show on the ship with his Neil Diamond show.  The only other one I can remember who actually did a show was John Gresham on Celebrity with his Eagles show.

Funny, I was going to say the CD doesn't matter to me unless it's a horrible one, like John Blair. LOL

What you like is what I disliked. He makes it all about himself. Different strokes.

The discount may not be the same for the various packages - so maybe only the 4 device package has the 35% discount - the single device package you are looking at could have a much smaller discount or nothing. You can't use your D discount buying in the planner - that can only be used on board.

Yes that how it is for my sailing. If I select 1 device it's 20% off, 2 is 35%, 3 is 40%, 4 is 50%. The email I received said "up to 50% off".
