  1. What's AIBP? All-Included-Beverage-Package? So if you're in the Haven Suite and the beverage package is Included as a free perk, you won't see gratuities as an extra charge?

How much should you tip the butler & concierge on a 14 night?

  2. The standard gratuity is added to the slip you sign when they bring you your drinks, they leave a space for an extra tip which isn't necessary.

Now I don't know about Princess. But on RCL & NCL, the gratuity is included in the beverage package you buy when booking, so there's no surprises later.

  3. Only way to avoid this is to leave the baby with grandma, aunt, friend, etc. They still nap at that age. Will baby nap in the cabin with you or in a stroller on a deck with you, in a lounge at night with you? Will you get a crib that will barely fit in your cabin? Leave the baby at home if at all possible. Then you can really enjoy the cruise and won't worry about the baby's napping and bringing enough diapers, food, etc. !

Strongly agree! That's why kids at sea camp starts when they are potty trained and preschool age.

  4. We have only cruised 4 previous times, and we have never purchased the unlimited drink package. Do most people feel it is a good value?? Of course, if you drink no alcohol it is probably unecessary. In the package Princess states that drinks under $10.00 are covered. Another question I have is: does this include margaritas, daquari, whiskey sour and other mixed drinks. I don't know what price point the cruise line places on single drinks?

If they don't specify "non alcoholic beverages, corks & caps".. then yes, whiskey, margaritas, etc. are included as long as they do not exceed $10

  5. Royal want us to pay a full cruise fare for a 7 month old baby. Are they kidding me?

Our TA called Royal twice and they told her the same thing both times.

Going to assume this is a liability.. every passenger counts, perhaps for lifeboats and any emergency. Every guest has to and must be accounted for incase of any possible emergency.

  6. There is a separate breakfast dining area for Diamond passengers on Celebrity. Does RCCL also set aside an area for those who chose to eat in the dining room for breakfast?

    Thank you

RCCL has various places for different ships. Diamond and UP, will have a private designated area in either the dinning room on deck 5, Chops, or the Diamond Lounge. Depends which ship you're sailing on. In the evenings, Diamond and UP meet on deck 14 in a private area for free drinks between 5:30pm-8:30pm. Also at this time any bar you go to, will give you free drinks!!

  7. Just saw some info online where 40 couples scheduled on the Allure are banning together to pay NO gratuities on their cruises, giving a letter to the staff explaining that they were deceived by RCCL and this is the only way they can withhold money from the business that was less than honest with them. Seems silly to me, just gonna hurt the emplyees.

And they forgot to read the fine print & are most likely inexperienced cruisers. No itinerary is ever guaranteed and they do mention anything is subject to change.

  8. You're not overly concerned, although this was a laughter. But I'm a germaphobe, so I understand. First off, that's just GROSS! They wouldn't do that off a cruise and people tend to me MORE laid back on vacation than they would be near their home.

I would either skip around them and not get food from the same stationary they visited, or use a napkin when handling the utensils.

You can't be more impolite in bringing their poor etiquette to their attention, than they are about not having any etiquette. So don't be shy to correct them.

And PS, venture on a newer RCCL ship:)
