We never had the window locked on our 7N sailing.  If it was locked it must have been when we were off the ship or out of the cabin.

Ours was locked for a full port day, two full sailing days and other times in between. Perhaps we were unusually unlucky.

Also perhaps you've been very lucky. Due to our experience it certainl would be a last choice.

    Hi,

I am looking at booking a cruise to New Zealand in March 24 on Celebrity edge. We are undecided on what is the better cabin to book I do like traditional balconies but the new type do intrigue me, so I am hoping someone can help me come to a decision on which would be better.

    Thanks

My personal choice would always be sunset verandah.  Going through the Fjords of South America was unforgetable on that verandah!

We called that number and they applied it. Thanks so much!

    Happy it worked out.

We sent ours by email. For 3 sailings b2b2b.

Got an auto reply receipt for 2, so I re-sent one.  All 3 were applied within 10 days (including over the holidays, impressive).

Well, it happened .... We missed our cruise on the Reflection😣

We all (4 of us) tested negative upon leaving Canada on Dec 24th. Long story short ... 2 delayed flights and a whole lot of rebooking transportation to/from different airports finally got us into Ft.Lauderdale at midnight on the 24th.

Had 2 different Covid appointments we had to miss on the 24th but luckily had a 3rd one pre-booked for the morning of the 25th.

Received confirmation by text , showed up but the clinic was closed !!

Now what? Time is running out. Another $40 ON ANOTHER UBER and arrive at FLL for 10 am, only to line up for 2 1/2 HRS.

UBER to A1A Fort Lauderdale beach while we have breakfast and results by text come in. Negative,Negative,Negative, and POSITIVE 😮😮.

5 minutes later call from Florida State Health who says to go get PCR Test to confirm.

It's Christmas Day!!  Finally find a roadside tent and literally 5 1/2 HRS later of lining up in the hot sun ... Confirmed.  Positive !

So we don't board on the 27th, rent a car and get A quarantined in his own room in hotel. Today is day 6 and we have tested negative on 4 occasions now.

Both Celebrity (our cruise) and Royal (his cruise) have advised no problem we will all be refunded.

We had Covid insurance thru Manulife so our accommodation is covered too.  Just wish we were on the Reflection right now!

We have managed to get all of our tests at n/c but it has been a lot of waiting.  The RAPID PCR Test did cost $400 but Will be reimbursed for that from Manulife.

    Just wanted to share.

Would we do this again soon ? Not in your life !

I'm so sorry this happened. How awful.

We are sweating bullets right now. We are headed to YEG Jan 1 for our Jan 2 red eye. So nervous that I did a rapid test today (negative), my husband and I will rapid test tomorrow before our Pharmasave RAT on Jan 1.  Now we hear West Jet is cancelling 15% of it's flights (ours is likely to be delayed to a later flight - as per two delays on record).

Still I wonder, safer here or there? We have had our highest AB count on record AND we are limiting AHS PCR testing to high risk only.

Sigh....this after our EPIC 30 day March 2020 cruise.

Tonight is the night that most cruisers hope never comes - the night before debarkation.  While a part of me says to run to Guest Service and beg for accommodations for another week, another part of me says it’s time to go home.

It has been two wonderful weeks made especially enjoyable by the amazing crew and staff of the Celebrity Reflections.  For those who will be joining her tomorrow and in the weeks and months to come We truly hope you have just as wonderful a time as we have.

    Bon Voyage everyone.

I've thoroughly enjoyed your review! Thank you for taking the time to post, and share so many of your experiences. We are on Relection Jan 2-29 and excited to embark on our first cruise since March 2020!

  6. I'm trying to complete my check-in process for our sailing (15 days from now), and having trouble with vaccination records. I've uploaded documents and they come back as "invalid". I've submitted the Canadian QR Code and my AHS (Alberta) vaccination record that shows my three doses along with the dates of vaccination.

I'm now on hold after submitting these documents 3 times. Can anyone from Alberta/Canada share your experience with this? I need to book air, but want to ensure this is squared away first.

Tonight after another wonderful dinner in Luminae, we went to the Game Show, The Race. Then it was on to the evening production show, Rock City, after stopping by the Martini Bar to check out their “ice counter”. Very cool!!

We are reading your review and enjoying watching your vacation. We've booked our first suite for August, but just decided to book a b2b2b (because you are having so much fun!!).  We have a question about duty free (which is a big deal to Canadians with all the $$$ tax on alcohol), we typically purchase Glenlevit scotch but can't remember the price. Any chance you can drop by the shop and let us know? In March 2020 they offered a Glenlevit blend at a great price. *blend in terms of barrel years

Good morning!  It is hard to believe it is our last day of this cruise.  It is a bright, sunny morning as we make our way north.  This has been a different cruise for us—the first time we haven’t done anything on shore—and definitely the most relaxing.

    To answer some questions:

No word on the CDC designation or covid cases on board.  We have not asked anyone, because we are not really concerned.  Everyone on board except a handful of children is vaccinated, and with the lack of crowds we really feel we are safer here than at any public place at home.

There are no reserved areas for suite guests at the pool that I’m aware of.  It would be unnecessary on this cruise, because the pool area has never been close to crowded.  However, I believe they plan to be at full capacity by August.  I have seen the pool area pretty full on past Reflection cruises.  We’ve also gotten seats, but the seats by the pool have been full.  This is our first suite on an S-class ship, so I don’t know if there are usually reserved seats.

Our retreat host has been fabulous and available to help with anything at all.  There is an expanded room service menu.  You should be able to access it on the app.  We have not eaten in our room this cruise; Luminae has been very efficient.

I snapped a photo of the pedicure prices with my phone, so I need to transfer that photo in order to post it, but I believe a basic pedicure was $49.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions!

  9. Thanks for the information you've shared! I've enjoyed reading your posts and appreciate the time you've taken to post photos of the daily planners!

After our March 2020 30 day covid cruise, we've had 6 or 7 cancellations - but are excited to plan to sail in August 2022 on Reflection.

What is your Suite Host/Concierge helpful with? Unpacking, restaurant reservations, room service?

Do they offer a different menu for suites for breakfast service ( we have 5 early morning tours)?

Is the Passport bar busy? Micheals Club?  With no "Retreat Sundeck" is there some area reserved at the pool?

    Thanks again!

I haven't heard yet of a Canadian being flown back home so that's a good thing! (or a bad if they refused?)

As more Canadians cruise, certain situations may start to arise.

Celebrity flew us home (two Canadians) in March 2020. We were on a South American cruise and the port of Santiago Chile refused the ship arrival. Days of negotiation, fueling, provisioning, gathering medical (in 3 ports Santiago, Valparaiso and Manta{Ecuador}) and then we sailed to San Diego. Celebrity made flight arrangements for the majority of guests.

We'd love to be back on a ship but 5 cruises to date have been cancelled. Our next scheduled is in August 2022 (B2B suite to verandah on Reflection).

Thanks for your recommendation, Payd.  Talk about coincidence . . . I started looking around on booking.com last week and saw  the Duque Hotel.  Looked very good to me so I booked it, thinking if someone made a recommendation that looked better I could always cancel.  So thank you for confirming my decision!  Did you try any local restaurants that you liked?

You said it's walking distance to the HOHO bus - what did you think of that?  The reviews of a couple of HOHO type bus companies aren't very good.

What else did you do in BA that you enjoyed?

We stayed at the Duque at the end of February.  We were on the Celebrity Eclipse cruise which debarked Buenos Aires and ended up in San Diego 30 days later.  The hotel offers a good exchange rate to convert USD to ARS.  We tried and liked Butchers Daughter, Crepa and Proper. Proper was amazing, although you can walk right past the entrance because there isn't much for signage. And it was inexpensive! We shared a bone in 28 oz steak (we call them Tomahawk Steaks in Canada), a couple of sides and a bottle of wine.  Total cost including tip was around $25 USD.  The HOHO stops on either side of a park, which on weekends is set up like a farmers market, and there are some performances, etc.  The HOHO comes as commented on by Tripadvisor . . . commentary isn't very good . . . but we used it as more of a form of transportation to get around the City . . . we don't like structured tours very much and prefer to do things at our own pace.  We loved the architecture, the plazas, and the history of the City.  There was a nice market by the Recoleta Cemetery . . . we accidently toured the cemetery trying to short cut to the Hard Rock Cafe  . . . but that is another story.  We also did a day trip to the Tigre Delta, and others on the ship did a day trip to the Iguazu Falls, which when we get back to Buenos Aires, will definitely tour.

Does anyone have information on bus lines from airport to San Antonio or private transportation?

One option is to take the Pullman Bus from downtown Santiago to the bus station which is at the port in San Antonio. The cost is 4100 CLP pp  which is about 6 USD. You can book paying with a PayPal account via the recorrido website. There have been numerous posts in this forum about this should you wish to know more detail.

Has anyone successfully ordered a double scotch or other whisky?

For us that has been the norm.  I often ask for my nightcap scotch specifically as a "single ounce".  My husband once had to ask for more ice to add to his double or triple pour (he didn't request the overpour, it was delivered that way).  I should clarify that this was with the classic package.
