My husband got a pic of Liberty of the Seas calling on Portland from the air (when flying home with all three kids—he’ll accept your prayers. )

Muster drill crazy. Brass and anchor pub looks cute. Champagne bar not set up yet. Anyone want to add to the eternal debate… is gelato included in Yacht Club? So pretty on this ship.

Too excited to eat much lunch so I got a Top Sail lounge snack.

My bag looked like it got in a fight and barely won and the really tragic news is my hairdryer is too big for any drawers. Also… view from our balcony. Life is good.

House champagne is Jacquart. I liked it better than Crystal. Lunch was lovely we recognized Joseph from our last Yacht Club cruise. Our Butler is Roberto and he is very nice but he said that MSC no longer decorated for birthdays so we shall see. A tiny annoyance is there are no plugs or USBs by the beds.

Speaking of animals… this guy has been my peeping Tom the whole time we’ve been here. What a sweetie. I wish I could have met him in person. I hope he has a happy life. He lives in this window.

Continental breakfast at Hotel Scherman was absolutely lovely in the mezzanine of the Irish Mexican fusion pub. I think my spirit animal is Irish Mexican fusion. Irish descent with Mexican dance moves. (I mean at least tequila inspired) My favorite kind of music is Reggaeton. If I remember correctly, there’s lots of Latin music on the deck parties! Look at the beautiful wood work on the bar!

Hotel’s roof top terrace! I’ll chat with all 8 of you, crazy enough to still be following along, when we board the “Merry” tomorrow morning! Good night NYC, what a day!

A few other sights. 15,327 steps. We got waylaid at the bar and missed the 9/11 memorial so I’m sad I missed that, but all in all a beautiful day. “These little town blues, are melting away.”

Victor’s Cafe for birthday celebration #2 ! Classic and passion fruit mojitos. Cuban appetizer sampler, vieja ropa, (sorry forgot pics!) cortido’s (Cuban coffee) and friendly staff!

Walked through Central Park

Pizza to walk off the Krystal… (not really… we only had one glass) but we had to at least share a slice! When in New York!!! Not the best in New York probably but the best rating on our walk home. Tasted good to me!

Ran into a friend from Pittsburgh. Went to have celebratory drinks at the Plaza but a “gentlemen” (claims to be a French Canadian billionaire who builds high rises and is Justin Trudeau uncle) at the bar had other plans. In exchange for him kinda molesting us, he paid for our tab and bought us a bottle of Krystal. I wouldn’t normally have let him buy us drinks, but he kinda ruined the experience for us. That being said it became a whole other kind of experience and a memory my Mom will remember forever. Also, I didn’t love the Krystal…. Those poor waiters. We at least tipped him in case the rude guy didn’t.

A little flash mob dance dance party while we eat.

First stop… bagel. Bagel to sandwich (BTS) on 40th. Asiago with veggie and everything with lox and scallion.

Hotel Scherman was beautiful and they left a surprise in the room for my Mom! They were also very patient with us when we immediately broke the safe’. Nice big shower and King bed. Super impressed for the money we paid.
