I am two months on a simple claim that is the least complicated ...went the doc on the ship..4 pills end of claim.  Sent the copy of the bill. I called they said, yes we have all that is needed. It is still in process.  How easy it should have been they don't care.

It has now been over 90 days....AON is worthless..yes I did turn in every doc. asked for they just don't pay...at least in what I would consider a reasonable length of time..they do not respond to email and phoning is just a waste of time....we will get to it when we get to it..what an attitude

Anyone have any positive feedback from using the carnival travel insurance which happens to be handled by AON Affinity?  We had a terrible time via charlotte on our flight over to London.  We missed our connection due original flight getting in 3 hours late.  American Airlines couldn’t get us for several days so we ended up booking a replacement flight via Expedia.  We just started the trip interruption process and are reading some really bad reviews that this insurance basically never pays anything.  So just wondering what everyone else experiences have been.

For a very long time, even before Covid, Princess has branded itself as a Premium cruiseline.

Many comments on this board take aim at changes Princess has made:  cutbacks, the Captains Circle perks, the Medallion program, food selection and quality and preparation, policy enforcement (MDR attire and environmental compliance, for instance).

Is it time for Princess to reassess their premium brand?

Are these views from personal experience or from posts found on the boards?

I enjoy Princess very much. We sailed in September, along with 13 other sailings on Princess, and I find the food and variety great. Staff was wonderful. Only thing really missing was the chocolate on the pillow. You can opt to have room service just as in the past but we opted to have once a day. I really don't need my bed turned down.  We are leaving Sunday back to Alaska and are looking forward to the experience with all expectation that it may be short staffed but I'm on vacation so I can wait an extra 10 or 20 minutes.

  4. they usually have a ramp just for those who really need it.  The tide depends on how steep the ramp is but they will put a couple of people to help one on the back and one on the front. I think you will be just fine. They also have people on the pier to help get you to where the tour busses are or the city bus. Enjoy...one of the most beautiful places on the planet in my opinion but if the wind is blowing it is really really cold.

  5. have done the coach ride to the summit ... it went into Canada at that time but not far enough that I wouldn't take the coach stopping at the boarder.  Great view..we have done the train and you pass buy what you want to see so quickly that you really miss out on a lot.  The coach follows the highway just opposite the train but they will stop at the great viewing areas or any time you like plus a lot of great stories.  Highly recommend it!

  6. I had left the ship and arrived at the hotel then proceeded to our car which we had left at the hotel in Seattle. No key!  Left my wife in the lobby with our luggage and caught a cab back to the ship thinking I had left them on the bed. I found a Princess rep, who was busy getting new arrivals in the proper line to board.  She stopped and called the ship on her walkie talkie.  She waited until she could talk directly with our room steward who stated she did not find any keys but offered to go back to the cabin and check. No luck.  I then started to leave but thought maybe they came out of my pocket in the disembarkation lounge.  She again stopped and called the ship once more and had them check the lounge.  No luck again. Could not have asked for any better service..it was outstanding.  Wish I had gotten her name but was thinking only of the electronic car key lost on a Saturday and would not be able to be replaced until Monday. It requires a dealer to reprogram the car. When I went out to the taxi line I happened to get the same driver I had getting back to the ship. He was glad to see me..I do tip well as the ride to the hotel is 10 minutes away and he has to sit in a very long line of cabs hoping for a ride to the airport.  He asked why I was back so soon.

I told him my tale of woe. He very kindly asked the guy that opens the cab door for you if any key was found in a cab.  He said no, but he would check with the dispatcher and have all the drivers check their cabs for lost key which was small and black same color of the seats of course. Took my cell number and I went back to the hotel to check in for another night. Soon received a call from my taxi driver saying they found the key and he would bring it to me. God does answer the smallest of prayers!!  Driver received a very large tip!  PRINCESS was so very kind to help me even in the throws of a new boarding process!

  7. I booked Crown Grill for end of May but it went onto my credit card not using the complimentary specialty dining that was included with the cruise.  Not a problem but just to let you know.  Others on the boards have said when they booked it deducted the payment and used the comp. On the Medallion App Ocean Way..Dine My Way and choose daily dining.

  8. They went up other channels years ago.  Now they cannot enter without the Park Rangers on board.  Seals having pups was the main reason.  They do stop on the way out at several other tidewater glaciers on the way out however.  Great Great place to go.  Our last thirteen years, with the exception of covid, we have gone to Glacier Bay.  This year my loving wonderful wife wanted to go on the newer ship so we had to forgo Glacier Bay National Park. I was wondering if we made the correct decision until I found out this unfortunate news.

We will definitely try and post about the experience, I'm sure many future passengers on this sailing have concerns.  We were supposed to do the Tracy Arm Fjord in Juneau but could not get an answer if they were going to do a shortened excursion or adjust the time to accommodate. As I said before we never got an answer so we cancelled on our own and will try and reschedule onboard if anything is available. I fear the excursion desk will be overwhelmed onboard. We'd consider booking private but with a potential propulsion issue my concern is we miss or get in late and having to pay in full to a private operator and risk not being able to get a refund is not the option we want to choose.

This is our first Princess and first Alaska cruise. We chose Princess strictly because of Glacier Bay.  We are going with an open mind and we are excited. We tend to make the most of whatever comes our way. Disappointed? A bit. We are frustrated with Princesses communication. It has been bad so far, IMO.  Having sailed RCI and Carnival, I feel they are all more similar than they are different. We do enjoy the Oasis class RCI ships, many do not. I like the innovation of the ships, the entertainment, the speciality dining and the crew/staff are always great.  I bet all cruise lines are off their game a bit with the start up.

This would certainly cause most anyone to be possibly a more than a bit put out.  Easier for those who are not involved to have a softer point of view.  IF there is a silver lining in all this is going at a slower pace through Glacier Bay would be a good thing providing they don't stop short of the Marjorie glacier.....and I am aware that they never go at a rapid pace through the bay with the ranger on board

Uh, love to see how *that* works.

Seattle and Vancouver are connected by road.

You need to take a cab to the ferry terminal.  You can go the Victoria and then Vancouver all on the ferry system
