Are you saying that EVERY cabin on the starboard side will have the bed closest to the hallway/bathroom? All other ships I've been on will alternate bed positions on both sides. I will be in OV balcony 12688 and wondering where my bed will be.

We just returned from Symphony out of Miami. They have changed their boarding procedures and it's wonderful! We got off of our shuttle and we were on the ship within 30 minutes (our arrival was noon). It's the smoothest embarkation process I've ever seen! The other ports should really take notice.

Why would Hawaii want results for this many days out? It would seem more reasonable to test within 1-2 days of being in Hawaii?

We were on Enchanted in December. The dinner reservation showed on our itinerary, but we did not receive anything from the specialty dining restaurant.

We're also on the Jan 16 to Hawaii. What are the temperatures like in open water? Is it too chilly to sit at the pool or be in the water?

We checked all sources for transport from hobby to the port and found that going thru RCI as part of the pkg was a better option for us. Have you compared them yet?

We sailed on Rhapsody in February. I was disappointed in the selection of entertainment. They also had only one show per night. Events in general were scarce. I hope this isn't the new norm.

Checking the Regal’s schedule the ship is in Europe (Baltic’s) in summer 2018 & 2019 and not in the Caribbean.
Thank you. Maybe the November dates can work for us. The only reason we want the Regal is for internet. I wish Princess would catch up with the other cruise lines.

We were on this same cruise, and saw mostly the same thing. The only exception was a pool attendant leaving sticky notes with times on deck chairs in the Solarium early on the last sea day. He monitored the times, and removed the items accordingly. As the morning got busier, he eventually disappeared. I just wish there were more of him!
I think this is a great idea for US to do. I'm taking sticky notes on my next cruise! Write the time so those looking for seats will know how long they've been empty. The seeker can decide if they want the chair or not.
Playing devil's advocate here--when we finished with the pool I picked up the towels to return. My friend said just leave them, they will pick them up. I explained about the people looking for chairs issue. Until I told them, they hadn't even considered that. Maybe some people just don't know.

Excellent summary, with a minor ticky-tack: Regal passed a test with 1,500 simultaneous video
streams while in the Caribbean in Feb '18. Response time at 2 PM should be great, too.

They may be two separate issues but they are interrelated. The ***** is supported by the intRAnet (as opposed to intERnet) and it is through the intranet one connects to the internet and outside world. Depending on how it was configured, problems on the intranet can have an impact on access to the outside world and internet. The satellite service that Princess has aligned with has good coverage in the Caribbean as well as the Mexican west and east coast.
Keep in mind that the CB and their sister ships have 3000 pax aboard and the Regal has 3600. Most these days have some type of internet capable device (smart phone, tablet, computer etc). Any connection the ship has to the internet via satellite has a finite bandwidth. If only a few are using the service, it should work great but if many (several thousand?) use the service at any one time, service will be slower as they will all be sending and receiving packets simultaneously. Remember the connection can handle only a definite number of packets and hence connections at one time. It all depends on time of day and how many are trying to use the internet at the same time. Response time is really great at 2 AM so I am told.
Thanks for the info! I was recently (April) on Caribbean Princess and just trying to get to princess@sea was basically impossible. Glad I had the paper copy to carry around <sigh>. If anyone has update on CP internet I'd like to know.

If you are in one of the following staterooms, you are in a Medallion stateroom. If you are in any other stateroom, you aren't. That is as of today. By the time your cruise arrives, that may or may not be the case, depending on whether more staterooms have been modified by that date.

We were on our first Princess cruise (on the Caribbean) in April. I couldn't even get the login for princess@sea to work.
I read another post that said Regal internet works fine in the Caribbean. How about internet as far as Mexico? Is internet reliable all over the ship or only in certain areas?

Just disembarked the Regal TA as well and I totally agree with the OP. The Regal is marketed as having Medallion.net and being advertised as the fastest internet at sea. It did not work well once leaving the USA.... on on the TA portion nor in any of the ports. The Internet and ***** need lots and lots of work before it functions as they claim it will. We had a great cruise but was very disappointed in the technology aspect of the cruise. The Captain even apologized several times about the poor internet service and our room steward apologized regarding the TV issues. IT person said problems with the new system and European satellites. Don’t know anything about that.... just stating what he said.
We had the free unlimited internet but if I had paid I would have requested a refund!

How far from the mainland did internet work? We are thinking of scheduling the Regal for this summer to Caribbean. We really need internet for communication to home.

Disney prices by mb used. I paid $99 for a 1 gig package of good' date=' fast speed on a 14 night cruise and my teen ended up with extra use left at the end of the cruise. But what has that to do with Princess?

I was comparing cruise lines. It doesn't make sense that they can't provide great internet when other lines can. For the internet reason alone, we may never cruise Princess again.

I totally agree with you. We just got off the Caribbean Princess. Our first time on Princess and possibly our last. We NEED internet to work while we vacation. Who can afford $1000 in internet fees for a week? On Royal Caribbean we paid $19 daily for soda and unlimited internet. Great

After spending much frustrated time perched in the doorway of the Internet cafe on the Crown last month, attempting to stay connected to answer work emails, my new motto is:
I can afford to cruise. But I can’t afford not to have internet.
I think princess is sadly missing out on the younger demographic that can travel but still have to work!

No contracts. You can use your own phone as long as its unlocked. I brought my own iPhone to T-Mobile.
