John Heald said a few minutes ago that the Carnival website is having issues this morning and that a lot of cruises aren’t showing. They are working on fixing the issue.

Yes, according to Hawaii’s website, you must register with the Hawaii Safe Travels.

This dude literally posted in this thread...
It seems like you're advocating for people to lie on the questionnaire. 😳
Not sure if you’re replying to my post, but no, I am NOT advocating for people to lie on the questionnaire. I am simply relaying my sister’s experience. She answered truthfully, and was tested by Carnival. Took about an hour out of her day, and she had no problem with the process.
FWIW, I would not have a problem with the process either.

Which prescreening question did she answer yes to? Was it this one?
I don’t think so. But hopefully the process is similar.

My sister answered yes to one of the pre screening questions, and they tested her again before she was allowed to board even though she had a negative test from earlier in the week. Her test, however, was not within the current testing window. I believe there was no cost to her.

Happy birthday Kmom. I have been very much enjoying your post.

How do you prove you had it and still have ENOUGH antibodies?
Per the CDC website—
Information for people who recently recovered from COVID-19
- If you tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 3 months and met criteria to end isolation, you do NOT need to get tested before or after cruise travel unless you are symptomatic. CDC has found that people can continue to test positive for up to 3 months after they had COVID-19 and not be infectious to others.
- Travel with a copy of your positive test result and a letter from your healthcare or a public health official that states you have been cleared for travel. The positive test result and letter together are referred to as “documentation of recovery.” If you are asked by officials in a foreign country, you may be required to show this documentation.
- You also do NOT need to self-quarantine after cruise travel if you have recently recovered from COVID-19, even if you are not fully vaccinated.

Thank you for your review and for answering so many questions.

My sister and brother in law are on the Horizon now. They rented a scooter for the cruise, and said that they picked the scooter up outside the ship. The companies are not allowed to deliver it on the ship anymore due to COVID protocols.

Glad you got this resolved.

Magic had Cucina as of 2016. I think the Magic is scheduled for a dry dock so hopefully it won’t get replaced. I owe posts here for trying out Cucina upon embarkation. Best decision of the whole cruise (and the cruise was wonderful).

I bought the DVD on our family reunion cruise in 2009, but I admit I only watched it once not long after the cruise.

Rand Paul is an ophthalmologist who is certified by a board he created himself, so like Ellaleah, I would not base any rational opinion on anything Rand Paul says.

Thanks again for posting this review.

My first cruise was on the SS Norway. I had a solo cabin that was so small if you took two steps in the room, you ran into the bed. Great memories though.

But he ain't to risk it to travel, even just a couple hours away from home, to use up our credit card annual hotel free night cert (could be used at $600 a night hotel in Miami area or up the coast to Vero Beach) We will forfeit it instead as the cert expires on Mar 26.
You might check with the company that issued the certificate as a lot of the hotel chains have temporarily relaxed their requirements to use expiring points and such.

My sister and I both got an extra room key for my Mom’s room, as she wears hearing aids and we didn’t want to be banging on her door early in the morning when we came to take her to breakfast. We all three went down to Guest Services.

I normally drink bottled water at home, but had no problem with the taste of the water from dispensers on my Royal Cruise this past fall. I filled my water bottle with the cups of water.

When I’ve had price reductions, they didn’t cancel and rebook. They just adjusted the balance due or refunded my credit card if I had paid in full.

I was on Serenade do the Seas in November, and the muster drill was outside. Our room steward actually knocked on the cabin door a few minutes before the official announcement and told us to go to the muster station.

Because I travel with an elderly parent much of the time, I usually get trip insurance that has higher medical and evacuation coverage than is offered by Carnival. Because the insurance quotes are based on age, I would think outside trip insurance for you would be pretty affordable.
