  1. I sailed with my two kids over the Christmas holidays. My daughter and I were passengers 1 and 2 and my son wasn't required to get a package. One thing to note is that passengers 3+ also don't get the free specialty dining, so we had to pay for one meal when visiting Cagney's, but they made it affordable by throwing as much as possible onto my daughter and my orders.

Sorry no. We were in 14158 and 14758.

Ah. OK. Those are Family Balcony cabins, which don't apply to the killer group rate we're on. Almost doubles the price from a balcony just next door!

I don’t recall any bothersome noise. I remember a time or two thinking we were below the observation lounge and thinking someone was moving a chair, but perhaps that was the gym. Certainly nothing kept us awake or woke us up. The angle was nice for the views and the convenience to Ob Lounge was nice too.

Cool! And just confirming you were in 15232? That's a mid-ship angled balcony cabin on the port side of the same deck as the Observation Lounge.

I had a rear facing balcony on the Anthem of the Seas and it seemed that only if you were on the "extended" angled part of it more of you would be seen - you could always retreat back towards your door if you wanted more privacy. I have a forward facing (13270) one booked on the Bliss and would expect the same optics there - any reason why not?

Also another rear facing one (15232) shows as open on my Bliss cruise but seems to be under the front edge of the Fitness center - just wondering if that will likely be a bit noisy.

Sorry for dragging this up so late, but we are currently booked in 15232 and was wondering the same about the fitness center. Did you end up staying in this cabin, and if so, was the noise bad? Thanks.

SJ 15196, port side Prima, is a great room.  The slide is no problem at all but for decks 12-14 it looked to be more of an obstruction.  The starboard side with the two slides looked to be a bit more problematic.  Loved the big balcony.

Our concierge and butler were both very attentive and available.  They may not answer your call but expect a call back within 10 minutes or so.  Karen, the greeter at Cagney's is a ray of sunshine.

We were just on the Starboard side - 15796. Also an SJ Suite. It was amazing. Our butler, Richard, was the best. Everything magically appeared in our cabin when we needed it. Room service took 10 minutes for a great turkey sandwich 🙂. The slide was definitely not an obstruction for us when looking thru the living room. We'd sail in this cabin again in a heartbeat!

They cancelled the price is right. I will let you know about the donna summer show. I heard others talking about it and I think it is going to happen. I will let you know.

The fantastic host and his wife mentioned during our show last week that this was the end of their contract. He was so "game show host" that we said they'd have a hard time finding someone as good! Guess they didn't 😞 . It was a fun hour. Set pieces are identical to the show. Very good production value.

When we were on the Prima, they had Starbucks cups in the buffet for "to go" coffee.

Not sure I remember seeing that on other ships. But, I'm old and don't remember much.

Yes! There's a big sign that says the machine is not on any drink plan - but it is if you have FAS+. Just ask the bartender for a cup and scan your card. Went there every morning on Viva to avoid the lines at the regular location.

This threads seems to be the best place to post my question re Haven.  We will be first time on NCL (Escape May 2024), an port-intensive (every day) 11-night Med cruise.   And only our 4th cruise ever (previous ones were Celebrity).

We are thinking about upgrading from our Club Balcony to a Haven suite.

Note, the fare would be about double (and no opportunity for " to upgrade" as our TA does not participate).  This is for an aft-facing cabin (our preference over the less price but odd rooms with the corner hot tub).

Reasons to upgrade: We would appreciate more space primarily, and yes the extras such the service and dining would be nice (I think). Plus, like several on this site have mentioned, we are now at a stage in our life when are only flying first/business class overseas, and enjoying being comfortable and pampered.  This year is also a big milestone and we can well afford it.

Reasons to stay put:  not sure we would get the full benefit/value of Haven for doubling our fare. In particular the dining, as we are not into heavy foods, eat primarily fish or chicken at home. Haven breakfast sounds great though! With port-intensive cruise, we will be going all day so no real sea days.

As an option to upgrading: we can order all the room service we want for nominal fee, get the Priority Pass for embark/disembark, add more specialty dining etc.

Realizing this post may sound familiar to many, I would still appreciate sage thoughts from veteran Haven cruisers.  (calling all cruise therapists 😉)

Hi. Keep in mind that on Prima and Viva, there are also suites that are like "Haven-lite". You get a butler, concierge, pre-arrival planning, priority boarding, private breakfast/lunch in Cagney's, and a host of other Haven perks - although you do not get entry into the Haven complex other than for a cocktail party one night. Cost us thousands less than the Haven itself.

    @sjacobs11 - I think you’ll love it … and I don’t even know you 😁

you get a bird’s eye view of everyone shooting down the drop .. the only clear section is in front and off to the side of the deck 14 SJ. IDK the cabin number as there are slight differences in numbers between deck, ie if our suite was 15196 , the suite above and below us were not necessarily 1x196.

I just saw the pix. We are on the starboard side, but same category and slide 🙂

     Sorry, @sbobsbob & @Sammae

We arrived back home last week, kind of crazy.

However I have quite a few photos of the SJ on deck 15 - 15196 in my trip report.

I kind of want to keep it a secret as there was so much complaining about Pt1ma’s cabins by the slides … but the room was great and the slide no problem at all. I’d definitely book it again. There were a couple issues with the room, but the butler, steward and concierge quickly addressed them.

see posts 35-37 for suite 15196 photos and comments

see post 23 for photos of a temporary inside We used one night

posts 45, 147 for the lunch & breakfast menus at Cagney’s

posts 88, 134, 170 for the food from those menus

i am still planning to update more info on that thread, but ask any questions … just make sure you tag me so I get a notice.

This will be our cabin in March!

@sjacobs11 i took some photos of the exteriors of the starboard SK cabins to show potential slide encroachments. For reference, the photos were taken from deck 8. Hope these help!

perhaps those 3 thin support rods may have a slight impact (“thin” being relative here).

That’s awesome! Thanks so much for taking the time to snap these!

What deck are you on? We're in an SJ on deck 15 in March. We've been wondering about the size of the balcony and yours looks HUGE. TIA!
