Any experiences with ez air. As a canadian ez air wants my home airport to be Toronto. We are hoping to fly from Detroit or at least return from Alaska to Detroit. (Cruise leaves from Vancouver) Previously had a cruise booked and had to cancel, and now looking forward to going in 2025. Not sure if it was because I just wanted to book return. We have flown with Carnival from Detroit and saved a few hundred dollars using their booking system.

We picked up our car as soon as they opened,8am. We made several sight seeing stops along the way including a half hour at carcross and an hour at Caribou Crossing. We spent some time at Robinson Road house and drove back, briefly stopping at the Dyea cemetery. We were back just in time to get the car back for 6 pm. All that said, it is a easy trip to Robinson Road house, and plenty of time for pictures and stops. Enjoy

Received the email stating June 17 we can book our dining preference. Previously we could not as our cruise is not paid in full or have special standing with Princess. Are we now able to book our preference? ( We have sailed with carnival and you can choose dining preference at time of booking.) Thoughts?

Any experience with Ez air. Princess has identified our home airport as Toronto. We have been able to book one way Detroit to Anchorage and got very reasonable flights. My problem is if I try to put in return from Vancouver to a Canadian city it says that my current air booking excludes flights to my home city.( I wanted to see return flights) Talked to Princess and really got no solution. ( other then cancel my flight and rebook....no thank you! Only really want to see my pricing with EZ air.)Anyone done a one way to Alaska and been successful to book with EZ Air?

Princess cruise insurance will not cover medical services on ship. Many health plans such as mine will reimburse you after you are home and file a claim but you will be charged on your folio while on board
I am reading this right? The cruise insurance purchased through the cruiseline DOES NOT cover medical expenses should you need to use their medical services? What is it used for then?

Just back from Skagway last week. Rented a Hyundai IONIQ 5 electric from Klondike cars and it was great. Plenty of room for 2 kids. You have the day to yourself to go to Emerald lake. You can stop at suspension bridge and Carcross. It was great, I was going to do the train but changed and so glad I did. Ioniq5 is so fun to drive and a great car. Say hello to Nicole the owner. They are great
Did you see one of their mustangs? Do you think you may sit up higher in the IONIQ? We have rented a mustang but would love your thoughts!

Thanks all. Decided in driving and booked my rental with Klondike Electrif this morning since Avis was not available. Never driven electric so not excited for that as well.
Awesome, please update your experience with the electric car. We decided to rent from them for our Alaska trip in July. (Previously used DIY jeep and had a blast!)

Should have added, make a quick stop at Caribou Crossings! Admission is reasonable and is a nice chance to see and feed the mushing dogs and cuddle their puppies. We didn't stay long but sure got my puppy fix!

I agree with the above response. It is cheaper to rent a car and do your own tour. ( prices have gone up for rentals but I think it would still be cheaper).

Wondered if someone would post recent room service options from the specialty restaurants. Specifically Interested in Sapphire. Thanks

We are planning to leave Anchorage by train, and get off in Portage for the wildlife center. Is there a shuttle to the center where the train let's off? I understand it is a bit of a walk to the center. Also concerned for time to meet the train to continue on the journey. I believe this is done often, just can't find the package anymore on Alaska train website. Thanks

It does say no charge above, this is the bottom of the celebration packages order page. (I didn't choose any so therefore my cart is empty.)

Anyone done a short boat ride on Prince william sound? Not really wanting to go for thr 4 hour glacier tours as we will be just starting our cruise and will be seeing lots. Thought about renting a Kayak but really have no experience. Just wanting to see a bit of the sound for an hour or 2 pre cruise. Any leads to individuals or company's that do this would be great. Thanks

Interesting...Just to repeat my above comment, it was a personal vacation planner (I called them!) that pushed this. Not sure how I feel about Princess Cruises at the moment!

There was at least a couple of threads discussing this telemarketing offer from a 3rd party company that may seem to some folks as directly from Princess. Not so. I seem to recall a couple of posters mentioning going for the offer program, but most seemed skeptical and were bypassing it. You might find these threads, but perhaps not easily as it was a while ago now this deal was discussed.
Not sure who it is through but I had this sales pitch from my personal vacation planner when I contacted him with a question regarding my cruise. I should say former, I ended up getting a better price and canceling the one booked through him....partly because I don't need sales pitches!

They offered? Is it free of charge or a fee? Looks amazing!

We are looking to go the opposite. Girdwood to Whittier the day of the cruise. Do you think a bus could be reliable to stop and pick up in Girdwood if prearranged?
-
I have called the Inn at Whittier and they tell me that they will be operational next year. Apparently have some repairs going on and construction is taking place. I was hoping someone that comes into port there would take notice and let me know that it does look like they are underway. I am wanting to book it for a night for next year. Thanks.

Just thought I would add to my above post. 2016 is when we crossed and had no problem.
-
We are canadian and rented a car ( Green Jeep at the time.)( I too thought we couldn't however I do believe there is an exception for that border crossing). It is a beautiful drive and we'll worth taking. We went as far as Emerald Lake, also stopping at Caribou crossing. This is our plan for next year as well. Found it more economical than the train.

Any recent experiences with this company? I was excited to use one we had last time (Green Jeep/DIY Jeep tours) but the price went up significantly and not guaranteed a traditional jeep. thanks
Skagway
in Alaska

We have been to Skagway and rented a car, highly recommend this option. We are planning another cruise and are looking at just hanging around the port, seeing the town and maybe going out to Dyea by bus. Are we going to be disappointed or bored. Any suggestions on how to spend the day without spending too much money? We can do shorter walks but strenuous hiking is also not an option. We are extending our stay in Anchorage and thinking we would save the money here as we never really saw Skagway itself. Thoughts?
