  1. Hello. I want to arrange for some shore excursions that are not through the ship when I am in Phuket on January 25th, 29th, and 30th of 2024 but I do not know where the tour pickup should be. It sounds like it will be a tender port since I will be there in January and one of the stops is an overnight stop. This is so frustrating and NCL is no help. Can anyone here help me? Thank you.
  2. Thank you for all the info. We will be in Amsterdam from 12:00 to 8:00 on Monday Sept 18. I never knew there was HOPO Boat. I will look into that also.
  3. From the internet it looks like there is a stop very close to the cruise passenger port with City Sightseeing which even has the option of a canal boat add on
  4. Hello. For those that have been to the Amsterdam cruise port, is there a HOHO (hop on hop off) bus we can walk to from the port? We will be in Amsterdam Sept 18 on the NCL Getaway from 12:00 to 20:00 (8:00 p.m.) and I would like to go on a canal boat tour and the HOHO bus. Can I walk to either or both? Thank you for your help.
  5. Thank you so much for you info. You saved me $200. By the way I did not know that tram is a streetcar. That helps too.
  6. Using the link provided by Edinburgher, I see my boat tenders at Newhaven on Friday Sept 22. Will I be able to use the Cruiselink X99 to the Royal Mile? When I googled it I only see Hawes Pier and Queensferry but not Newhaven Tender port. Thanks from your help. I'm just nervous because planning is new to me but the Shore Excursion providing only transportation to and from the Royal Mile is over $200 for two people. So if I can do it for so much less then I want to.
  7. Hello. I am in Edinburgh Sept 22 fron 7:00 to 5:00pm. I have so many questions because I am planning it myself and have never been. Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace. What is the walking distance between the two and is it easy not to get lost. Are they both on the royal mile? How long does it take to go through each of these. I would purchase the audio tour. Should I get tix online first? Should I take the NCL cruise excursion of Edinburgh on you own or is it easy to get there from the cruise ports? Thank you for any help I receive.
  8. Is the train station near the place you that the tender leaves you off at ?
  9. Hello, do any of the experienced cruisers on this site know whether additional tix are available to shore excursions that are sold out online. Will they be available once I am on the ship? I have asked NCL and received different answers from the shore excursion dept on the phone. I just added my friend to my mid-sept northern europe cruise and many of the excursions that I already bought tix for myself are sold out so I can not get another tix for my friend. Some of the ports have no excursions available and others excursions that I don't prefer. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
  10. The NCL Ship tour of Normandy is $230. I was hoping to spend around $100. I do not see private group tours I can join as a solo person to Normandy. I do have a credit of $50 but at $180 I still would like something cheaper. Thanks for your help everyone.
  11. Hello. I will be in Ketchikan with NCL Jewel on Aug 9 from 7-4 and Aug 19 from 1-8. I want to go to Totem Bight Park. NCL tour is only 2 hours and that seems short, even though the dock is only about 2 miles from the port. How else would I get there? I assume getting a taxi from the port would be easy, but from Totem back to the port would probably be more difficult. I was thinking of doing a tour that is 3.5 hours and includes canoeing but if it is raining, and it often is in Aug in Ketchikan, then canoeing seems uncomfortable. Does anyone know how to get there without a tour, or should I just go for 2 hours? Thank you for your help.
  12. Hello. Can you please suggest excursions in La Havre, either ship excursions or private tour excursions for La Havre. I do not want to go to Paris since the bus ride of 6 hours is too long and Normandy is too expensive. Any other suggestions?
  13. Hello. I see that ward cove is only a few miles from totem bight park. Is it easy to find the way from NCL dock to the bus stop and then to the park? Also, can I assume there would be enough people in the park and on the trails so I would not feel spooked going solo? Thanks for you help. I'm thinking of doing this on my August 2023 cruise.
  14. Hello. I am going on a 14 day cruise in August 2023 since the prices for a solo person are so reasonable. I will have an inside cabin. NCL or Princess? Price, including airfare is about the same. The difference on day 2 and day 13 NCL says Inside Passage (cruising) and Princess says At Sea but I think it is the same since both leave from Vancouver and the first port is Ketchikan. NCL does Hubbard Glacier twice and Glacier Bay once, and Princes does Hubbard Glacier once and Glacier Bay twice. NCL has a port stop at Icy Strait Point and Princess cruises the College Fjord . Both dock at Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway twice. Princess does full days, at least 8 hours at each stop. NCL does Juneau from 11:00 - 9:00 week one and 2:00 - 9:00 week two and cruises Endicott Arm before docking at Juneau week 2. I'm in a quandary about which to book. Which is better, Hubbard Glacier or Glacier Bay? Will the late docking days at Juneau be a hinderance? Is Endicott Arm worth seeing? Whale watching is my favorite excursion and I read Icy Strait Point is best for that and Juneau is also good so I am leaning towards NCL. Thank you for your help. btw I am booking soon.....
  15. My mom did it in her early 70's with walking problems. It has steps but not hard to get to the first tier then I walked further while she waited in a beautiful area and was very happy there.
  16. I have booked both of those cruises on the Bellissima on Sept 12 and Sept 20 so let me know if you are going on either of these cruises.
