We love the lemon tarts at Cafe Bacio, no charge for desserts and baked goods served there.  Also love Cafe Affogato.  A scoop of gelato with a shot of espresso.  I get aside of Kahlua to pour on top.  Not on the menu but will make it for you and covered under classic drink package.

Now this is the kind of information I come to these boards for! LOLOLOL😂😂

Their is no restriction connected to room.   For the 4 devices one person would subscribe for the 4 licenses and then assign a unique Username and postcode for each account.   Anyone who has the Logon/Password would be able to use.

This is awesome. Thank you so much! WE figured we'd save almost $100+/person if my sister just bought the Ultimate 4-device package and doled out the accounts to those of us that would use them. For our cruise (15 day Panama in October), Surf Only would be $112/person and Ultimate would be ~$182/person. That's a sizeable savings.

The spillway is not a written CC perk, it is given as a courtesy and is hit and miss.  Sometime you may get it, sometimes not.

My first cruise in 2018 was in a Concierge room and my stepmom and I were never notified about this. Bummer!

  5. Does anyone know if the purchase of these device licenses are restricted by room? My family (sister, dad/stepmom, me/husband) are cruising in October and realized we might be able to buy a 4-device package for a considerable discount than what we would all pay individually. As long as you have the username and password, will it allow you to use the license even if you're not in the room that purchased it?

  6. As someone new to the world of wine, I did this on my first Celebrity cruise and loved it! Super fun. Being a newbie to wine, it was definitely an eye-opener how much the shape of the glass really does affect the flavor/aromas of the wine. Will definitely be doing it again on our cruise in October if it's offered!

  7. I'm all for this. Everything has an impact on the environment and if we can mitigate it even a little, that helps. Think of the impact not just from one ship but from every ship on every cruise line (pipe dream, I know).

  8. The Reflection and this itinerary last year (2018) was my very first cruise! Glad you enjoyed it. We went as a chartered group so most of our excursions were through our TA and they were wonderful. We had a great experience in Cartageña, but I'll bet we were shielded from some of the troubles you had based on our guide.

Glad you enjoyed it. It totally spoiled me and we're back for more on the Infinity this October!

To everyone, make the best of things and just enjoy cruising on whatever line you like.  Life is too short to argue! Bon voyage.

Thank you for this. I'm a new cruiser (only one under my belt) and even that one was a gift from God (I say that without a stitch of sarcasm). I get that many who have experienced the wonder of sailing for many years may have grown jaded at the luxury that is available to us. I hope I never do.

Drinks packages....We are among those who probably barely break even with the package but there are two aspects of it we really like....Firstly we know on boarding that we will not have a big bill at the end. Secondly, we are far more experimental with a drinks package, we will try new cocktails and wines whereas without a drinks package we would stick with ‘tried and trusted’...

I took my first cruise about a year ago (it was a gift! Can you believe that?!) and my stepmom had got the classic beverage package for us as one of the perks. As someone who has to travel on a very tight budget, NOT having to worry about what I was spending on a glass of wine or a fancy coffee was a godsend. I'm sure that drink packages are standard across the cruising world based on what I've read, but for me, the Classic package hit a sweet spot. There were plenty of drinks that I could try, lots of wine that I wanted to try and the limit they set made it possible that if I DID want to try something fancier, I didn't pay much more.

I really liked the complimentary products they offered in the bathroom too. I approved that it was Bounding Bunny (no animal testing) approved, something I didn't notice until I was using up my remnants in the gym this year! 😄

If you have the classic package, you can also pay the difference on a specific alcoholic beverage (and of course, you can use OBC to cover it). I believe classic covers up to $11/drink. So if you buy a $12.50 drink with the classic package, you would pay $1.50 + 20% gratuity on the $1.50 ($0.30) for a total of $1.80

If you find yourself regularly ordering above the $11 limit, you may consider upgrading to the premium ($10/day/person + $2 gratuity/day/person = $12/day/person total).

    Enjoy!

Is the new limit for the Classic package $11? I thought it was $9. I hope I'm wrong! My last sailing was 1.5 years ago....

  12. I went on my first cruise ever on the Celebrity Reflection in Feb of 2018 and my extended family and I are going on the Infinity in October of this year.

As a first cruise experience, it converted me! I was blown away by how relaxing it was. I had always assumed a cruise had to be a frenetic, party atmosphere filled with kids running around (I'm 50, married, no kids) based on all the ads I'd seen for Royal Caribbean and Carnival. Not that I don't like a good party, and I do like kids - not just running around like maniacs. 😉

The cruise was a gift with my stepmom (an experienced cruiser) and even she said Celebrity was the best one she's been on so far. This was also her first Celebrity cruise (previous: Carnival, Holland America and Princess) and she was sold. She prefers Celebrity now.

We are not super deluxe accommodation people, we don't have enough points for any kind of special club, we have a very limited budget (my husband and I, that is, LOL) and despite not being anyone "special" in the cruise line's eyes, I felt so catered to, so made much of. It was really a special and amazing experience for me. I hope I am never so jaded as to be unable to appreciate how rich of an experience you can have on this cruise line.

We have done the Canal twice. Both times leaving Fort Lauderdale on November 4. Once in 2004 and once in 2014. Weather was awesome. Had a little rain while sailing through the Canal itself but not enough to bother anyone and it was a WARM rain...dare I say HOT. It is the equator (almost) after all.

Go do it. It's one of those once in a lifetime cruises. BTW: If you want some more idea about shore stuff, see my review and website by clicking here.

Thanks so much for that link to your website! We're doing the Panama transit on the Infinity in Oct/Nov and I am beyond excited. This will be only my 2nd cruise and my husband's first. Doing a bucket list trip with my dad/stepmom and sister and her friend.

  14. We'll be on Infinity in October for a family bucket list trip (Panama transit) with my dad/stepmom and my sister and her friend. Our cabin is 9037 and this will be my second cruise and my husband's first! I am so excited to be back on Celebrity. My first cruise was on the Reflection last February and it completely converted me. I never though I'd be a cruise person, but Celebrity changed my mind.

Have you been on other Celebrity ships? I'm wondering how the Infinity is different. I've seen some of the stuff about M-class versus S-class, etc, but was hoping for some personal experience comparisons.

    Thanks for your review!

  15. The workshop does include the price of the glasses.

I did one a number of years ago by myself because my husband is not a wine drinker. He and my daughter made fun of me for a long time until I took her to a workshop with me when we did a mother/ daughter cruise. The look on her face was absolutely priceless.

She has her own Reidel glasses now ....

My stepmom and I are cruising on Reflection next week and we both are amateur oenophiles (or trying to be lol) and are hoping to do this. Good info in this thread.

  16. g - you most likely need to check your Cruise Planner for such activities as well check the dailies in case a last minute or un-advertized tasting becomes available. On my last sailing in July, I attended a wine tasting and scotch tasting. The wine tasting charge was $45 p/p and scotch was $65 p/p. The wines were above average for any beverage package and none were included in any package.

The scotch was very top shelf, Macallan, and included the 1824 Master series as part of the tasting... needless to say I was happy

In the wine tasting there were only 14 participants and for the scotch only six (6) which was sweet and had a great deal of time to ask questions and taste and learn...

Go enjoy and try it, even though some or many of the wines may not meet your standard at home, yet could be good enough for a mass market cruise line...

If you choose to participate, please let us know how you enjoyed it...

    bon voyage

Edited To Add: Both tastings paired me with individuals who had a great deal more knowledge of wine and scotch than I and allowed me to find out about a By Invitation Only group of scotch drinkers, who are serious about their scotch.... and a store in NY where I can go to view and possibly taste some fine scotches otherwise not known, by me. While there were 'professionals' in each tasting, none were over the top as in 'I Am a professional and know my stuff' they added knowledge to the group, which I found beneficial in my appreciation of both beverages as a novice, yet long time drinker!

Mr Bo1953, thanks for this info. I'm going on my first (!) cruise on the Reflection next week and am a newbie to wine. Was hoping they'd have something educational like this. :D:wine-glass:

  17. We haven't used the wine dispensers for many years and I'm not even sure they are still functioning on some ships. If you have the premium beverage package you might be better off exploring the wines by the glass in Cellar Masters. If something is above the package limit you only pay the difference + 18% gratuity on the difference. The beverage package does not cover the dispensers.

Oh how interesting. That's good info - thanks!

  18. Can anyone give me an idea of the range of prices for the wine tastings available in Cellar Masters? My stepmom bought us the Premium beverage package but I'm assuming the wine machine tastings are not covered by that.

I'm a new oenephile and am looking forward to trying out some new wines but have a limited budget. I think you buy a card of $X amount and then use it in the machines to purchase the tastings/half/full glasses, correct?

Anyone have some experience with this? Any info is appreciated. :🍷 🍷

Only 30 days until Celebrity Reflection!
