There's a difference between 75,000-100,000 people at a college or NFL game and 5,000 on a cruise ship.  I believe cruising will be back before fully attended sporting events are.

I hope you're right and those that have summer cruises booked are able to sail. My main concern is if sporting events are allowed 0 fans, then I'm not sure how they justify cruises to have any passengers. Now, if/when stadiums are allowed to have spectators (even at a reduced capacity), then cruise lines should be able to get the green light.

  2. I only brought up the sports aspect as far as fans in attendance goes (nothing to do with the billionaire owners or millionaire players finances). If they do not allow fans in the stands, it will be hard to imagine other industries such as cruise lines being allowed to sail with 2 or 3 thousand people on board.

As for sports coming back, I'm all for it, even with nobody in attendance. As long as they can provide a safe environment for the players and others involved, they should go ahead and do it.

  3. Carnival Valor, October 2007 with a group of 20 family and friends. Funny story. American Airlines lost my parents and my luggage on the way to Miami. We wouldn't get our luggage until day 5. Also, on the flight, the flight attendant spilled a cup of OJ all over me (and the only clothes I would have for the first half of the cruise lol). Despite all that, it was one of the best vacations I was ever on and was hooked. I didn't even care about wearing Carnival branded clothes most of the week 😆.

Mine for Feb 20 is still in my planner and haven't heard anything from Carnival that it was cancelled.

I'm booked on this cruise as well. It was there on Monday when I checked for price drops, however Havana interior was sold out. Still shows up in my planner too, so hopefully it's just sold out.

  5. I've been thinking about investing in stocks for sometime now. Being that Carnival provides a product I use, I thought about maybe buying some shares from them. Now that 100 shares is within my budget, I may finally do it. For first timers, would it be wise to work with a professional?

Don't you think this is rude? What if someone is playing loud rap with foul language? Use ear buds, I want to relax and read, not listen to music which might not be pleasant to me. I usually like your posts, this surprised me

It's definitely rude, no matter the music genre. Carnival designs spaces and what music is pumped into each space, and it usually works. Serenity's music isn't something I'd normally listen to, but it works very well with that atmosphere. I don't want hear somebody's amateur playlist that ruins the entire vibe of the area.

  8. My wife and I booked Havana for our next 2 cruises on Mardi Gras (2021) and Horizon (2022). Hopefully we have a better experience than the OP.

We had a similar issue last year in Serenity on Horizon with people playing music on their BT speaker. It was very rude and inconsiderate. We thought about complaining, but instead moved to another area of Serenity where we couldn't hear their music. We are usually pretty chill and laid back. Now, this only happened one day (our 1st sea day I believe), because we never heard anyone playing music on speakers in Serenity after that. Maybe someone complained and those people were told they couldn't do that.

  9. St. Thomas and St. Maarten are basically tied for first fior me, with St. Kitts and close second. The ratings probably have a lot to do with the great excursions I've taken there, as well as the beautiful island.

St. Thomas is just a gorgeous island all around with spectacular views. My wife and I love the beach, and Magens Bay is one of the best we've been too. We also enjoyed the beach and island tour excursion we've taken there, which included Black Beard's Castle and at the time, a rum factory tour.

St. Maarten quickly became one of my favorites my last cruise. We did a beach day to Orient Beach and Maho Beach and just completely loved both spots.

  10. Horizon is an awesome ship, you'll have a great time. Last February, my wife and I did the Two Reef Snorkel & Beach Getaway through Carnival and really enjoyed it. We spent a couple hours at the port beach before heading to our excursion. It wrapped up by dropping us off Reef Shark Bar & Grill for some more beach time. It's a short walk (10 min) back to the ship from there.

  11. Following. My wife and I have always wanted to visit Hawaii, so we decided to try to go for one of our 40th birthdays in a few years or our 10 year anniversary. This particular cruise may be the best (and possibly most affordable) way for us to experience Hawaii.

  12. I recently got the card myself and figure I'll use it for any excursion I book through Carnival. Normally, I link my Citi double card (2% cash back) before I cruise so all my purchases on board are charged to it. Is there any advantage of charging on board purchases to my Carnival card instead?
