1. Wow!!!

I think you got the red carpet treatment compared to others!!:)

One person posted about getting Nothing on her special cruise.

Again, isn't it great how consistent RCL is? My pet peeve of the month.:D

Agree- we were on the BR a couple week after PH8 made her Pinnacle. We did a B2B2B. Informed them on the first leg that one of us will be making Pinnacle on teh 3rd leg. No mention or anything at all. The Hotel Director said next time we come on they will make it special. BS!

It has now been 3 months since turning P and RCI has yet to send anything acknowledging the status change. Called them again yesterday and they basically said oops, allow 6-8 more weeks.

We did cash in that 2400.00 credit though. :D

RCI has been a big disappointment in this area of recognizing reaching P status.

  2. We just booked a Thanksgiving cruise and got that promo. Although they said free, our cruise price seemed higher than normal for that season, so we paid for it one way or another.

The small bottled waters are usually included in the package. It does appear to be the premium package as it was over 500.00 per package normal price on our invoice.

  3.
wow!! is all i can say about the high and mighty people who think they are the authority on such things as stealing. a corporation can raise its prices 40% for a product whose cost basis has not increased and not call that stealing from the american consumer. however if a person shares a couple of drinks off of a drink package then they are morally bankrupt?? I am sure if Royal wanted to catch everyone who shared a package they very well could. there are cameras everywhere except bathrooms and staterooms. personally, i believe they expect some sharing thus the pricing but when a person is excessive that is when they generally revoke the priviledges of the package.

The cruise lines all have a set of "rules" that we as passengers have to adhere to. By the OP putting it out there in a public forum and saying that they intend to basically steal drinks for others by only purchasing one drink package is a problem.

If this was a land based location. Is it OK for someone to go to a buffet of sorts, and bring in a friend and tell the waitress only you are eating, then proceed to feed your friend from your plate? In your mind, once it's in your hands, you can do whatever you want with it.

    Wrong is wrong.
  4.
Your drinking "profile" sounds a lot like mine, except I don't drink soda and would instead drink the premium coffees and teas. I would drink the fresh squeezed OJ and the non-alcoholic frozen drinks, so I bought the Royal Replenish package. It also includes bottled water, which I plan to grab whenever I can and keep them in our mini bar. I am going to enjoy the non-alcoholic frozen drinks, but I'll probably end up buying at least a couple frozen drinks with alcohol in them during the cruise.
You two sound like you would benefit from sharing a drink package....LOL:eek:

Although I hate their new sales, We just booked a 9 night for Thanksgiving. They gave us 1 free package and 1 half off. I was happy. :D

The OP sounds like a real winner.
  5. I think their steaks are OK. Not the best on the planet and definitely not worth the increasing charges. I stopped going once it hit over 30.00 and the quality of beef and sides seemed to go down.

I would think if they knew their CEO was dining in Chops for the night, they have the best piece of meat they could find/order on hand for him.

  6. Cheapskates sharing the drink package. :D:D:D

PS: Given the volatility prediction for this month, no one should be surprised. Look what happened to Apple this past quarter and where the stock closed yesterday.

HaHaHa..............the first thing I thought of with the decrease in onboard spending was the drink package.

Not necessarily sharing of it, but I know my onboard bill was a lot higher before the drink package came out. It fortunately saved me money.

  7. I have a friend considering cruising with us this year. She does not have CD so doesn't have to be "perfect" but is trying to eat GF and low carb. My biggest concern for her is the bread at dinner and specialty dining. Since it usually takes a little while for apps to arrive at the table and we always scarf down tons of bread waiting on "food"....how is the GF bread? She is looking at doing either JW (so MDR, Chops, Portofinos) or AD (MDR, Giovannis). However, comments from your experience on the other ships is greatly appreciated also. We know they are "supposed" to be consistent fleetwide.:)

    1. Does she need to request GF bread in advance?

    2. How does the GF bread taste?

3, Does anyone know the carb count of the GF bread in these venues?

    4. Do they have GF bran muffins? I love the RC bran muffins and would love for her to enjoy them also.

    5. What GF items do you ENJOY while onboard?

    6. What GF items did you NOT like and would NOT order again?

    Thanks for your assistance!

Our experience is that you do not need to order GF bread in advance. They have 2 different kinds. We always order the white bread because it is a little better. They other one looks like banana bread but is terrible.

If there is a Sorrento's you can ask them to make GF pizza.

Our favorite dish for GF is the eggplant lasagna. You have to ask for it the day before, but it is amazing. We also order Indian food as it is also GF.

I can't think of anything terrible that I wouldn't order again. There are options every night for dinner. You just need to review the menu the day before and let them know what you want.

Also, mostly all their blended Oasis drink mixes are GF. I believe the only one that isn't is the Bloody Mary mix.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
