YES! Who wants to climb a ladder? Not me!
I'll soon be sharing a cabin with my three grandsons. I'm probably going to have to arm wrestle my youngest grandson to get the bunk. :D:D

Then there are many, many people who also work very hard and make enough money to cruise once, twice or many times per year. These people, over the years, have watched the decline in service and amenities while the price of the cruises they book stay the same or go up.
While I am still two weeks away from my first ever cruise, a cruise has been a long time dream so I have followed the cost of cruising for many years. In doing so, I have been amazed at how the cost of many cruises, when compared with almost everything else, has actually gone down.
Thank you, angeleyez915, for bringing things into perspective. I see far too many here who seem to think that because the name of this board is "Cruise Critic" they are obligated to criticize everything possible.

Downloaded it from the Play Store. Interesting, but what I've watched so far, Behind the Scenes, are really not much more than trailers. The video editors/director must be overloaded with energy drinks, they appear to have an attention span of about three seconds.

John Heald posts them on facebook about the middle of the month prior.

I would double check this part. We had to get for our 13 year old this year and I thought everything said 18 for 10 yr and 5 yr if under (which is why we waited for daughter who just turned 18 and will need one next year).
Direct from travel.state.gov:
"Passports for children under 16 are only valid for 5 years.
Passports for applicants 16 and older are valid for 10 years."

Yes, how is this information found? There are some good ones on there!
John Heald usually posts the movie list about the middle of the preceding month.

Carved meats were replaced by potato bar? Wow that is a downgrade.
Depends on your point of view. Personally, I would find that to be an upgrade.

Now we get down to the nuts and bolts of the issue.
Giving a "gift" is not about the appreciation of service received. No, It's all about YOU and making YOU feel better.
True gift giving is about trying to make the recipient feel appreciated. Just because you are selfish enough to make it about how you feel, not all of us are that selfish.

Thank you! I was sitting here thinking "Holy old movie Moley"
:p
And I was thinking "Hmm, Sounds like some good movies".

Our group sailing in October on the Magic will have nine kids ranging from 2 to 17.

Some people really need to kick start their brains before opening their mouths.
I agree completely. You need to look in a mirror while making your statement.

So you want someone to fall down a set of stairs and break their neck just so you can stargaze? How about this.....go buy some land in Montana and look at all the stars you want without putting someone else's life at risk to fulfill your silly fantasies.
There are lots of ways to provide necessary illumination to walkways and stairways without lighting up the sky or blinding people who enjoy seeing the night sky. Bright lights are actually more of a hazard than is darkness. Human eyes can adjust from darkness to light much faster than from light to darkness.

Lastly, I like to go to my bank before I leave and order some $2.00 bills for tips. Just makes for a little more fun to tip with 2 dollar bills instead of 1's. Plus it saves some space. :-)
I am awaiting my first cruise in 76 days, but I have made this a habit whenever I travel. Not only does it make it a little more fun and save some space, but it tends to make people remember you.

You could be on to something there! That's Profitmaking 101 - create a problem, then offer a solution to eliminate the problem $$+
Sounds like they have been learning from government.

We want a 4 piece Caribbean band Every day on the pool deck with steel drums, not just for 45 minutes , but for 4 hours. Noon to 4!
YES! If I'm taking a Caribbean cruise, I want a Caribbean experience/atmosphere for the whole cruise. Menus included.

a guy said "is that chair taken" No i said.. then he said "well i need a whole row." I replied in a kind voice "That isn't going to happen."
I might have said something like I know you're fat, but I don't think you're quite that fat.

What a helpful thread! I'm considering my first time on Carnival and was concerned about the food. I can remember when I might have found one or two vegans on a cruise board. lol My gratitude to all the posters and for those great blog posts too!
One question: I have never brought food onto a cruise. Is this perfectly acceptable or are you sort of sneaking it on? lol Are there restrictions?
From the FAQ: "Food Items must be pre-packaged and unopened; homemade items or pre-cooked foods will not be permitted onboard. Limitations on permitted food items are directly related to concerns for food safety and contamination prevention. We are unable to provide food preparation, refrigeration or storage for personal food or beverage items."

Wristbands are not removable.
That depends on the wristband.

From what I can see, the Carnival Hub app is pretty useless until you are on board. There are several other cruise apps that actually give you useful information about your itinerary and ports of call. Take a look at Ship Mate.

Thanks. I was just trying to avoid getting into a long debate that I don't have time for today. I'm 58 and male and love the towel animals.
I'm 64 and male and looking forward to them on my first ever cruise in October. The pictures I've seen are adorable.
