  1. Post #10 has a summary of bookable shows https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=56768488&postcount=10

Burn the Floor preforms on twice each night on Monday and Tuesday. MDQ preforms twice each night on Thursday and Friday. They have to reset the theater for each show.

    By the numbers...

Each of the main shows preform four times (twice each night).

    The theater holds 800 passengers.

Total seats available for each show is 4 performances x 800 seats = 3200 available seats

Last week, the Getaway sailed with 4500 passengers

How do you find out how many people are booked on your cruise?

  2. We are on the getaway in Jan. Our first cruise ever! Two questions...

When dining in the complimentary restaurants and the specialty dining ones with the specialty dining pkg, do you order 1 item from each category, like appetizers, soup, main dish, side, dessert or are you able to order multiple items? I’ve noticed people saying they have ordered more then one item..just wasn’t sure how it worked.

From all my research so far, I don’t know how disembarkment works. We will be flying out of FLL later in the afternoon when we return. How do the color tags work and the times for leaving.

    Thanks!

  3. Where did you book this through?

    Catamaran and Snorkel.

You could catch a air conditioned coach or hay wagon towed by a pick-up for the 30 minute ride to the catamaran (air conditioning vs hot, humid, dusty wagon,,, we picked the coach).

We do a lot of snorkeling excursion and this was really well run. Everyone got a new snorkel (to keep). The Pirates did a great job talking about preserving the reefs. And the reef was wonderful with many different types of coral. The group was divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced snorkeler and each had a guide. All you could drink soda and beer.

  4. I'm so glad I'm not the only one! My husband and I are taking our very first cruise Jan 6th. (Western Caribbean on the getaway) and I've been planning it since Feb! I even take a notebook everywhere, like work in case I think of something and need to write it down! I'm such a list person!20180815_113813.thumb.jpg.f586bf4d7c42ad889486ee71e70a1a88.jpg

  5. We are on the getaway Jan 6th (our first cruise ever!) and have a couple random questions...

    1. If we wanted to reserve a restaurant for sunset on embankment day, which restaurant on the getaway has the best view?

    2. How much does it cost to do the behind the scenes tour?

    3. Do you leave a note for your housekeeper (not sure if that’s the correct term) on the first day introducing yourself, asking them to empty the minibar, etc?

    4. Do the cabins get “cool” at night with the air? We like to sleep with it being kinda chilly.

5.what are the air temps like outside while cruising in the western getaway, meaning is it common to open your balcony and enjoy fresh air or is it to hot for that?

I feel like I have lots of questions...but that’s it for now..lol...thanks for all the help!

  6. This is our first cruise...

Let’s say towards the end of the night the husband and I want to grab a snack and soda to take back to the room and hang out on our balcony. Is there a place to get that free? Drink wise, do you only get soda from the bar? I was planning on taking a yeti type cup for each of us. Would they fill it up for us so we can take it back to our cabin? Thanks for all the help! This board has been grea. We are going to be on the getaway.

  7. hello! My husband and I are taking our first cruise Jan 6th on NCL getaway. We we be flying out of Detroit the day before the cruise and staying the night near the terminal. I’ve noticed some people fly into Ft. Lauderdale and some into Miami. Is that just because it’s cheaper? If you do fly into Ft. Lauderdale, how do most people get to Miami. Do you usually stay in Ft. Lauderdale over night or in Miami. I kinda wanted to stay in Miami at a hotel near the terminal so we could watch the ships come in. We are so new at this and it’s a bit overwhelming. Thanks for the help!

  8. I knew just from the title of this thread what the issue was. It’s a common misunderstanding, NCL really needs to make this clearer.

That two hour bit only applies to the embarkation and disembarkation days.

Thanks! Yes, I agree..because that’s exactly what I thought it meant. This is our first cruise and every time I log into NCL I see this message and thought it meant every stop we go to.

  9. Hi all! My husband and I are going on our first cruise in Jan. (NCL getaway..western carribean-Roatan, Harvest Caye, costa maya and Cozumel) I know we can book cruises through NCL and we booked our cruise with ************ and they have some you can book, but where else are reliable places to book/research excursions through?
