Welcome to Silversea!  Evening shows are usually 9:30 or 10:00 pm., although there will probably be an early (6:30 pm) show a few times.  The Captain's welcome and "taste of things to come" show will be pre-dinner.

My DH and I enjoy the quiet luxury, attentive service, excellent cocktails (especially at the Salt Bar on Nova) and especially the other passengers.  We've made some very good friends on board that we still travel with.

Thank you! We will definitely check out the Salt Bar, and look forward to experiencing Silversea.

  2. We're new to Silversea, with a cruise booked on the Silver Nova. We enjoy going to the evening entertainment on our Seabourn cruises, both pre dinner and post dinner shows. What time do shows begin on Silversea? I'd love to know before making restaurant reservations. I'd also love to hear what you like best about Silversea. Thanks!

  3. The only time I've seen bingo on our Seabourn cruises was near the end of the 2020 World Cruise on Sojourn. This was once or twice during our unplanned "at sea" days, between leaving the Seychelles on March 1 and disembarkation on March 18 in Perth. You can imagine the staff was becoming quite creative finding activities!

  4. In our experience the only thing "Mindful Living" about these tours are that they are outside. We have done several, and while we have enjoyed the settings, we have been disappointed in what the local guides know about where we are. That doesn't mean we avoid "Mindful Living" tours, but we always chuckle a bit wondering what in the world Andrew Weil has to do with them.

We are booked on the Encore out of Athen and booked a 2 night pre-cruise stay.  Has anyone had any experience with Cruise line representative not present after leaving baggage / Customs?  We had a bad experience with another cruise line where no representative was present after our flight.

We have booked a pre cruise hotel through Seabourn multiple times, and we were met by a driver for a transfer to the hotel all but one of those times. In Miami before the 2023 South America/Antarctica Grand Voyage we were not met when our flight was 6-7 hours late arriving from Seattle, and then everyone on our flight had to wait two hours more before luggage began to dribble out in twos and threes. We took a taxi to the hotel, got a receipt, and took that to Guest Services on board. Our account was then credited for the amount of the taxi.

    On the website:

Log in and then from the homepage, click on the "Online Guest Registration" tile.

Click on the "My Bookings" tab.  Choose which of your bookings you want to view.

    Then click on "Guest Registration."

Then click on "Prefs" which is near the top of the page.

(Along the way, you may need to log in with your credentials and supply the booking number several times.).

I did exactly what you suggested but still only come up with the Seabourn Club choices, not the room and drink choices. I'll keep checking, but suspect we may need to wait until we're onboard.

On the Quest in July/August, they had added it not only in the entry way, but also under the night stands which was a bit much! We ended up putting pillows over those and just using the entry way one.

We were also on the Quest in August, and agree that the night stand lights were a bad idea. We put pillows over them for the first few nights, and then the maintenance crew managed to turn them completely off. The bathroom would be a great place for them to install motion activated nightlights.

  8. On both of our post covid cruises we've seen many blazers, many suits, and some tuxedos on formal nights. The first was a Caribbean/Panama Canal cruise with hot weather, and the second was Dover to New York with cooler weather in Iceland and Greenland. None of these gentlemen seemed out of place on formal nights. Blazers and suits definitely outnumbered the tuxes.

  9. Carambola Beach, on St. Kitts is where they do the beach barbecue/caviar in the surf, if your itinerary shows that as a stop. We enjoyed our day there on the Ovation last December. They do offer excursions that day, but you can run the risk of missing the first part of the beach day. Some people enjoy doing both, but we thought just the barbecue/caviar and beach day were great.

  10. Escargot (gluten free version, in both Restaurant and Colonnade)

    Nigerian Shrimp (Earth and Ocean)

TK gluten free rolls (the best gluten free bread on Seabourn - my husband says as good as the regular)

Macarons (every evening in Seabourn Square, 8:00-10:00)

Yum! Now I'm ready to get onboard - just need to wait 102 days!

Is everyone onboard complaining and moaning bout the food?   That would make for a very unpleasant cruise.

No, there seem to be many people enjoying the food, including us! Much more positive than negative, and my glass is definitely more than half full. I’m  loving our 36 days on Quest, and excited that we’re boarding the Quest again in January for 79 days.

Was the colonnade not open at lunch ???

Yes, the Colonnade was open for lunch for its usual hours of noon to two. Our tour returned to the ship after two, but we were served quickly at the Patio, and it was a glorious afternoon to eat outside. The Scottish Islands we're sailing past now are beautiful in the cloud filtered light.

I think JP is doing a great job as CD, and we’re enjoying the food and entertainment. The flautist last night was excellent.

The menus rotate on a weekly basis.  One thing to note is that the venue is not open on the final night of the cruise.

There is a pork-belly skewer appetizer that's worth having as an entree (double the portion).  And know that the pasta appetizers are large portions.

It seems like a great many people are getting off in Montreal on Aug 29th.  Is anyone going on to NYC?  We get on in Montreal, and while we won’t mind having the ship to ourselves, we are hopeful others will be onboard with us!!!

We're boarding in Dover on August 5 and will get off in New York, so you'll have some company!

Ultrarunner, I just saw a post on FB that showed crew without masks outside (not sure which ship). The poster said it's a new rule as of yesterday. Is that true on Quest? It would be lovely to see them without masks again.
