  1. I agree, we avoid the buffet on all ships due to crowds and tend to book extra specialty dining mainly for the small restaurant feel rather than the hustle and bustle. Did not like the Hudson dining especially the tables near the main walkways, too much server movement.
  2. I would not book Prima again or Viva unless the prices come down and are similar to the other ships. Not worth any premium. And definitely not a cold water ship. The 2023 itinerary to Iceland and points North is not going to be good.
  3. I booked all our entertainment on the cabin tv. Didn't work on embarkation day, but did work by Sunday Sept 25th
  4. Anyone here a Star Trek fan? Specifically the Movie Generations that introduced the Enterprise -B at the beginning. I felt that was the Prima πŸ™‚ The Spa hot baths had no bubbles, will be fixed in Miami. The Bar in Indulge did not have any of the beer on tap with all those tap handles πŸ™‚ No Coke zero some days, but other times the server would get a can at the Local. One time he brought a Diet Coke and yes I can tell the difference. At least we didn’t need the Photon Torpedos that were not loaded until the next Tuesday LOL
  5. I would stay with cabin. That is not what I would call aft. although 10352 would be a nice cabin πŸ™‚
  6. Ok something is messed up in my mind. I had Steff pictured as a lady and what is a lady doing in the men's room πŸ™‚ I guess I need to change my image of Steff LOL
  7. NCL is removing many of the tubs from existing ships. Suites on the Pearl had tubs removed in favor of a nice walk in shower. For my wife it was a good move, she has trouble stepping over the tub to get into the shower.
  8. How would you describe the internet speed on Prima? Similar to other NCL ships or better or worse? A You Tuber is on the cruise and gave it lousy review saying the wifi was off frequently. He seemed a bit too negative. Thanks Tom
  9. We entered the Pool area for the suite bookings. Doors were not restricted like access to the Haven, but I was told the area is only for cruisers booked in the suites.
  10. Probably got the name wrong. We did one non NCL cruise and it was on Celebrity Silhouette in Jan. Walking around the ship touring the first day, I entered whatever they call the suite pool area and found out we didn't belong. It did cut off the ship. Unlike the Haven area that you don't even notice on most ships.
  11. Plus figure that a good number of the passengers are Haven and they have there own areas. Probably wouldn’t be caught dead sitting with the rest of us LOL
  12. Tonnage or Passenger count? Prima is 142,500 tons only 3000 tons less than the Breakaway and Gettaway
  13. My eyes read this as no Canabus in the Vibe LOL. My first thought was, Canabus is on the DO NOT allow list why would it be in the Vibe πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
  14. I don’t think that was so much an issue as the eating habits. Wrong thread here for that discussion, but they probably lost $$ on food. And the waste was unbelievable.
  15. More background I found interesting on the Joy. It was originally to be names Bliss, but Bliss apparently translates into something undesirable in Chinese so the name was changed. And Bliss used for the next ship.
  16. With Amsterdam tightly controlling the windows of when the locks open anything is possible and I would expect some adjustments in the schedule. I recently saw someone complaining about NCL Dawn dropping a port stop in Copenhagen so they could get in the proper window for entering Amsterdam. SInce Amsterdam was the disembarkation port, she didn't give any credit to NCL getting them to the port to in time to meet everyone's flights. SMH
  17. I did see one article that detailed the Food Hall and it specifically noted that Coco's was an extra fee. Which was what I expected.
  18. Actually none of my cruises allow for booking the Theater. I suspect with covid cancelling the shows frequently NCL decided to hold off reservations until we board the ship so the information on bookings is as up to date as possible.
  19. Or ornery guys like me who might tap on the tube as someone is coming down, just to add a little scare πŸ™‚
  20. Maybe the Casino will be no smoking? That was one of the comments on the article from a cruise critic reviewer. The Casino is right off the atrium and will need to be route to get from Atrium to forward areas. They figured if smoking is allowed, the smoke in the atrium will be a problem.
  21. That is funny about the bridge clearance. Dawn and Pearl or Jade are regularly cruising out of Tampa, Pearl is a bit higher and Dawn the same height. I can't believe people standing in line for $10 SMH. I had a problem because the casino closed early. We actually won at Bingo that cruise and I was going to cash in the winnings last day, and poof casino was closed as we rounded the tip of Florida. Had a time getting the funds from Guest Services. I waited until some wee hour when there was no line πŸ™‚
  22. Wow small world. That wasn't you on the bridge with me just prior to the Captain's announcement? There was one guy that kept asking the bridge crew what time we were getting into Miami. They would not answer deferring the info to captain who was absent. I said there is no garmin on the windshield to tell them πŸ™‚ I departed for my cabin which was Starboard a bit aft of center and before I got back to the cabin the captain was telling us we had a problem. Loved the long line in guest services after he said don't go there. I got the letter a few minutes after the announcement and immediately called to take advantage of a hotel room for one night. It was a beautiful room in the Marriott waterside 21st floor Suite with 2 balconies, one of bedroom and one off living area. It was a great memory for me too. I was able to have lunch with an Aunt and Uncle Sunday afternoon who live in the Tampa area.
  23. I was on the Star for a repo TA Dover to Tampa in 2015, The eggs were certainly not US eggs. I have never seen an egg with bright orange yolk like we had on that cruise. If the ship is in Europe all summer why would they get provisions from the US? Seems like a waste of transport.
  24. I wonder how they decide who signs Frank del Rio or Harry? Seems like the NCLH would be the owner. NCL is just the operator.
  25. Very true, apparently your post produced a notification for me and I didnt' realize the person had started a new thread. πŸ™‚
