  1. Thanks,,i didnt think it was corerct either..but did not know about the 90 days out part..i check every day for FTTF :(

FTTF was sold out for my cruise 12-23-18 when I booked in early March but I kept checking several times a day. I was finally able to snag one on 4-24-18 at about midnight or so central time. A few hours later it was showing as sold out again.

  2. Under Manage My Cruise, there is a blue box on the left. Next to Check In is the date you will be able to select your check in time.

I sail out on the Magic on 12-23-18 and this doesn't appear in my check in info. The Check In option was never available to me and I booked in March. Maybe when it gets in the former 180 day window or so the date will pop up as you describe but it's not there now and hasn't been.

Edit: Wait, are you talking about doing the online check in or selecting a check in appointment time for embarkation? I've already completed my online check in but the option to select a check in appointment time hasn't been available nor does it show a date when it will although I know it will be 90 days prior to sail date.

  3. Florida has Real ID....not Enhanced ID....confusing words but there is a big difference.

The following US states currently offer EDLs:

    • Michigan.
    • New York.
    • Vermont.
    • Washington

Minnesota also offers an Enhanced DL.

  4. I’d love to know why Carnival is so far behind when it comes to freestyle machines. Why in the world do they want to deal with all those cans? And making the bartenders serve. They would probably get way more people to buy the program if they had the machine, as it’s a pain to ask for a soda every time. And a machine would be less expensive for them over cans.

If they upgraded to the freestyle machines for my upcoming cruise, I would immediately buy the bottomless bubbles package. The way it currently is I'll stick with bringing my own 12-packs on board.

  5. How long does it take for the gift cards to show up on my account on the Carnival web site?

I used a few gift cards to pay down my balance online. I had no problem with the cards but the balance on my billing details didn’t change.

Whenever I've used gift cards to pay on my account, the balance is updated instantly and I get emailed a receipt of my payment. If yours didn't change and/or you didn't get a receipt emailed to you, I would say you need to call Carnival and get it straightened out.

  6. DING DING DING we have a winner

Because there were 7 cards' date=' I was copying and pasting the numbers into excel, so I'd have them all in one place. Well, Excel was truncating the last digit! :o

    All gift cards are valid!

Sad to say, this is NOT the most stupid thing I've done in my life.

Thanks all for sticking with this drama.[/quote']

Good to hear and glad you got them to work!

  7. I have been following his page recently and I enjoyed his content before and during the first couple of Horizon cruises. I haven't seen anything I consider offensive but some people are offended by everything. One person wrote Carnival and demanded he be fired because he borrowed someone's mobility scooter and rode it around the Lido deck. You can't do or say anything these days without offending someone.

I saw that too...lol. People amaze me sometimes. I'm guessing the people at Carnival just chuckled about that demand.

  8. So do you think that because I don't like the guy, I must be politically correct or simply don't like his so called sense of humor? You couldn't be more wrong. I think I made it perfectly clear why I don't like him.

This right here is a perfect example of what's happening in this world right now. You're taking my post and twisting it into something it's not. Not one time did I say anything about you. I simply made a statement about JH. He is not politically correct and I think people who aren't politically correct seem more real and honest. That was nothing about you. It makes no difference to me if you like him or not but just because some people do like him doesn't mean they worship him. The worshiping him comment led me to agree with the other poster that your comment was extreme. I certainly didn't mean any ill will toward you and I apologize if it could be misinterpreted that way.

I certainly don't agree with everything he says or find everything he says funny. Probably since I haven't read his page for long I haven't seen him do something like the example you listed, and I don't think a representative of a company should make fun of people. Lots of people make fun of people in daily life though (i.e. some of the crazy things people wear in Walmart) but I agree that somebody who works at Walmart shouldn't make fun of them. That being said, JH seems to me like just a goofy, average person instead of a company representative. Normally he wouldn't be a good company representative unless your company mainly connects with the average person who likes to goof around about all sorts of things or people. Definitely not for everybody but lots of people like him. Like I said, to each his own.

    PrincessArlena'sDad,

Do you have a PVP you can call to try to help you with it? If so, I would call him/her. I also agree to contact the eBay seller, Paypal Digital Gifts, through the eBay interface instead of calling them.

  9. I can understand not appreciating JH's brand of admittedly low-brow humor, but this is a bit extreme.

I totally agree with this. I just recently started reading his page. His humor may not be for everyone but he seems to be a nice guy and genuinely tries to help people if he can. He's not politically correct. To me, people who aren't totally politically correct are more open and honest and seem more like real people instead of fake and blowing smoke to please everyone. To each his own.

Anyway back to the topic, I hope they get more 15% off gift cards soon. I have more to pay toward my cruises!

  10. I would be careful with this. Look at some of the people who started this they have very few posts on Cruise critic. I tried it and paypal refused to let the payment go through. This morning I get an email from EBAY saying my account has been suspended because of recent questionable activity, and the only activity I had was trying to purchase these cards. Just saying, be careful. I never have a problem with the AARP or Allstate cards.
There's a number of people in this thread with thousands of posts on Cruise Critic that have purchased these and used them with no problem. I don't have many posts on here but have been buying and selling stuff on eBay for many years, and I had no problem buying and using 3 gift cards yesterday.... No warnings from eBay or PayPal. Maybe it's something about your eBay account that caused a problem cause the gift cards from PayPal Digital Gifts on eBay are fine.

  11. Now that someone (thank you!) added the new link I thought I was good - but getting this message now... now I remember that this happened last time I tried too and I never got them.

Any ideas? I'm using safari since everyone said not to use chrome.

    Thank you!

I used Chrome and didn't have any trouble.

  12. I had no problems when I used my Capital One debit card to buy seven $100 physical cards(4 and 3) in April 2017. I wonder if the problem is with Capital One credit cards or Capital One itself?

I completely understand continuing to press them for answers. I become an obnoxious pest until a problem is resolved.

I noticed that Google Maps sometimes likes to change Xth St SW to Southwest Xth St. I wonder if the Rewards for Good systems are doing that.

Capital One tells me that it's AARP's card service that is cancelling the charge each time, but who knows. The addresses show up the same for me on both websites but maybe it's doing that behind the scenes from what I can see. I'll get it to work eventually. :p:p

  13. This happened to me in December. The address was the culprit.

I like to put my apartment number on the same line as the street address. That was declined. I tried putting the apartment number on the second line, and it was still declined.

It turns out that the official address on my Capital One credit card had the apartment number on the first line and street address on the second line.

I changed the address on my credit card so the apartment number was on the second line. I was advised to wait 24 hours before trying again. I waited a few days before trying again because I was still pissed off. The transaction for three $100 ecards went through.

AARP tells me that it's being declined because the address line doesn't match but they look identical. I've even copied and pasted to make sure. I don't have an apartment number. My address is XXXX Xth St SW and I've typed them in the same both places, no puncuation, and even copied and pasted. AARP's card services provider just won't approve it. They tell me they can't do it over the phone either and told me they have lots of trouble with Capital One cards. I can use my local bank debit card but it's the principle now that I want to figure it out and get it right. Lol.

  14. It's a long shot, but some vendors and CC companies are more sensitive than others to addresses that may not completely conform to the USPS "format." In some cases it will be automatically corrected on the back end and the change may not be visible to you. If one side is silently correcting the address and the other is not, it could result in a mismatch that you can't see. You can try entering your address into the validator on the USPS site and see if it makes any changes to your address, and if it does, update both your CC and AARP to the corrected format. Go here and select lookup by address to see if it makes any changes: https://tools.usps.com/go/ZipLookupAction!input.action

The address the tool shows is the exact same address I have for both AARP and my Capital One credit card. Just to be sure, I copied and pasted the USPS address over both existing ones and saved them. Tried the transaction again, but it still declines the card. I even tried it using a different browser just to eliminate that but still the same thing. Oh well, thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks, I'll go try that right now.

  16. Have any of you tried purchasing Carnival Gift cards from AARP using a Capital One credit card? It says the card is declined every time I've tried. When I call AARP Rewards, they tell me its telling them it was declined because of incorrect address. So I logged onto my Capital One account and copied the address and pasted it into the AARP Rewards site info. It still wouldn't work. I called Capital One and they tell me that it's AARP Rewards that's declining it. Captial One says the pending charge looks fine and was approved but then AARP or their card service declined it. I called AARP back and was told they've had that trouble with Capital One cards and nothing they could do. I've successfully used my local bank debit card but would really like to use my Capital One credit card. Just wondering if anyone had run into this. Thanks!

  17. I went to aarp to order more gift cards and not seeing them anymore. Anyone have experience if they load more each day? My final payment is next week so not sure if I should just go ahead and pay it off or wait to see the gift cards become available again.

They seem to get them back in stock in just a few days so I would probably wait and see before making your final payment.
