  1. Cruisecal also shows the Harmony itineraries through April 2019. Same as now, East / West out of FLL.

Allure too, through April 2019. Last cruise out of FLL returns 11/4/18, first cruise out of Miami is 11/5/18. Looks like same East / West itineraries as the Symphony.

East = St. Maarten , San Juan , Labadee

West = Nassau, Cozumel, Roatan , Costa Maya

And Oasis through April 2019. Same itineraries as now, East / West out of Port Canaveral.

I am a TA and just checked availability on the Harmony for 2019 and there is nothing open for sale. They must just be speculating.

  2. Has anyone waiting until they arrived at St. Kitts to rent your car? I know in other islands we have just walked off the ship and up to a car rental place and rented one there.

also I read that a temporary drivers license is mandatory for $24.00 but has anyone gotten an international drivers license in the states before you leave and been able to avoid this charge?

  3. My husband and I are first time "diamond" level for our cruise on the serenade sailing March 17, 2017.

Can anyone help us with the perks we should be getting or any advice on getting the most out of being a diamond cruiser.

Any suggestions or advice would really help.

What type of drinks can we order in the diamond lounge?

  4. hello Mabones.....I planned my own shore excursion with "around curacao tours". I can let you know when I return what I thought of him. He is doing a 4 hour tour to a beach, flamingos, short city tour and whatever else we want.

So, if they are an hour later. Should I advise this guide to meet us at 3:30pm Curacao time?

  5. Can anyone tell me if island time is the same as ship time.

We will be on the conquest next week and have arranged a private tour.

Tour guide says pick up will at 2:30 local time. Our ship is due to arrive at 2:00pm.

    Any help, please

  6. If your home port is in the USA, you will need a car seat in a taxi...but not on a shuttle bus!

As far as ports...most ship excursions use buses, too..so you can't attach a car seat. Many islands have public buses, if you are going to DIY...so that's an option. A guidebook on your ports will tell you what transportation is avail. and any rules and regulations! Also, info on beaches, attractions, shopping, food/drink, etc...

so if we are flying into Fort Lauderdale we need to take a shuttle to the ship. Not a taxi.

  7. We are traveling in January with a 16 mo old. Never traveled on a cruise before with a small child. Do we need a car seat for the cab ride to the ship? and for excursions on the island?

Any suggestions or information would be helpful.

    Thanks

  9. Just some info from someone who attended a wedding on the Allure February 8, 2016. As a wedding guest i would have thought everything went perfect but since my daughter was in the wedding i got the scoop afterwards. The wedding was in Dazzles and they were married by the captain who was very nice.

NOT good!!!! Both the land based company and the staff on Royal made many errors. The bridge and groom were so upset.

Just to name a few......no flowers delivered to the cabin in time for pre-wedding photos. No wedding planner anywhere until after the start time. no music playing while the attendants and bride walked down the aisle (until someone attending the wedding went and told the wedding coordinator). Some drinks did not have any alcohol in them, just virgin rum punch. wrong cake flavors were served. Wedding coordinator did not know anything about having a first dance/father daughter dance or mother son dance (again until a guest told her to check the brides wedding music list where it was clearly listed).

Just horrible things that ruined the experience for the bride and groom.

Just giving some examples so that those of you getting married on a Royal ship can be aware of some issues. Ask your wedding coordinator on the ship how many wedding she has done. it turns out that for this wedding that this coordinator had only done 5 and that she had no training prior.

Plus if things go wrong with items that have been paid for, like the alcohol, food, music, cake etc.....that the ship staff has no control over any of that. They will tell you that you will need to contact and deal with the land based company itself after you are back in the states.

But like I said....from a guest perspective, the wedding was beautiful and the bride and groom looked amazing.

  11. It is true...there are no life vests in any cabins. Muster drill....some stations are in lounges...others are in the Prominade...standing only...some are in Boardwalk area...standing. All depends which one your cabin is assigned. You'll know when you receive your seapass card at check-in. They don't take you out to the life boats. Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks so much. At least we will not have to be standing out in the sun for a half hour.

I do have a few more questions if you don't mind.

Does the zip line have a weight restriction? Or a dress code? Like do you need sneakers and or pants etc.

Have u seen mamma Mia? Or any shows in the main theatre? Did you like them?

What time does the ship normally let people off in Falmouth? I know it says that it arrives at 10:30 but was it there any earlier? We have a private tour booked and hoping we can be on the road before 11am.

Oh...are the formal nights, night 2 and 5 on the western Caribbean itinerary?

    Thanks so much,

    Mary

  12. We are doing the 7 day cruise...9 times.B2B ....63 days total. .It alternates between Eastern and Western Caribbean.

We just finished our Immigration procedure in FLL for the 5 th time for the consecutive cruisers. Today it didn't go smoothly....only 4 Border agents showed up. The ship was still dis-embarking passengers at noon. The first 4 times we were off and back on in 15 mins. Today they didn't get a zero count till 12:15. Needless to say the embarking people were not happy. So it's never the same week to week....pack your patience.

    Hello Shana51....

I think you are extremely lucky and smart to do the snow bird thing this way. I love it.

I am sailing on the allure next week and I have a question to ask if u don't mind.

For the muster, do they assign various lounges for people to go to or does everyone have to stand at their muster station? I also heard that the life vests are not in each cabin, is that true?

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

  13. Great review...I sail in a week on the allure.

  14. Hello....I have a group of friends and family sailing on the Allure in 2 weeks. We got our table assignment from the group department.

Can anyone tell me if these tables are in decent locations? And what floor they would be on? I have never been on the allure before. Any info on these would be great.

  15. I am in this cabin as I write. If anyone wants any information on this cabin just ask. I will check back a few times per day.

    Overall the cabin is awesome.

I can try and answer any other questions as well.

Merry christmas Suss1234....I am sailing on the Allure in February on the same itinerary as you did (the western). I would love it if you could email me copies of the daily programs. My email is jbsmes@verizon.net.

I'm traveling with about 40 family and friends so knowing the schedule of things in advance will really help.

    Thanks in advance.

    Mary

  16. It seems you answered your own question with a picture and reports on 5 others

They all thought something was wrong. The only one that got a nice thick steak without a moat of fat was the one person. Plus there was not another sole in chops with them so they could not even look at what other people had.
