the whole point of pre paid gratuititeis and auto gratuaties on bardrinks is that you dont need to carry cash on board

particularly  if you arent from USA

Has nothing to do with being from USA.

Giving extra tips helps all of them to support their families back home.

If you get to know their back stories about their families, you will tip and it does make a huge difference to them. A couple of extra bucks isn't going to break you.

Thank you for reminding me of one of the many reasons I no longer sail with NCL. I had been vaguely considering looking for a sailing to use my one remaining CruiseFirst certificate on, but this has reminded me of why I am just going to let that $250 go.

So....sell it or give it away.

    We use these also https://www.amazon.ca/GreatShield-Cruise-Luggage-Weather-Resistant/dp/B074Q35ND1/ref=sr_1_20?crid=8LALJX78KMWK&keywords=plastic+luggage+tags&qid=1644949269&sprefix=plastic+luggage+%2Caps%2C249&sr=8-20

Also have a key tag with info on the handle, plus as another back up, place a copy of tags inside every piece of luggage

Tried to order these, but Amazon cannot ship to USA. It states it can only deliver to Canadian address. And I guess Florida isn't part of Canada🤣🤣

What is the best way to cover the tag for the luggage tags we print at home? I am sure some of you have great ideas. Thank You!

I enclose them in the clear packing tape. Then I staple them after putting them on luggage and then put more clear packing tape over stapled area. Always works for me.

What I said was re-booking it was $700 more so instead I booked a different itinerary because I wasn't going to put out more money to NCL.  So after booking the new itinerary there is a bit of FCC left over that we will use for excursions.  Plus, they changed their offerings so we went from 2 specialty dinners to one, and less wifi minutes.  Given all the cancellations because of Covid you'd think they would stop making so many changes ~ it just adds to all of the confusion.

The offers have not changed in like 6 months. They are all the same.

    What are you looking at??

    It's always 2 specialty restaurants.

Not really complaining about the changes to the 2/10 Encore itinerary.  It's a "what can you do" kind of thing.  (Except Nassau, been there, done that, not impressed and I purposely pick cruises that don't go there._

What's annoying is that GSC is moved up to Day 2 and it's 6 am to 2pm.  So now we need to be up crack of dawn to get on the beach in the morning.  The next day is

a sea day, what's the rush.  We already have Tortola which is a 6 am to 1 pm day.  Also with a seas day following.

So just stay on board and enjoy the quiet. Pool area will be great. Bars will be great. Just enjoy the ship.

    And chill out.

NCL should be ashamed for not extending the Cruise Next certificate program for at least two years due to COVID. I am embarrassed to say that as a travel agent we lost over $2,000 in certificates due to the two-year delay caused by COVID. Our certificates expired the end of November 2021 and NCL thinks it was generous in extending them one month - but we were required to sail before the end of 2022. Well as many cruises as I have been on, I still wasn't prepared to take six 7-night cruises in 2022. Certainly not at my age.

I would never recommend the purchase of NCL's Cruise Next certificates. Unlike Princess cruise - which refunds the money if not used - NCL just keeps the money. As bad a deal as that is they also took action to make the Cruise Next certificates useless by introducing the Next Cruise program which allowed you to take advantage of the same deal when you are ready to book - before you make your reservation.

NCL's handling of the Cruise Next and Next Cruise programs has really soured me on NCL. It will take years for me to get over that.

And one more thing, have you noticed how much the prices have jumped? All five for FREE! That is a joke. The people who took the 125% FCC are now  paying a $1,000 or more -  more than the original cruise even after getting the 125% FCC.

There were some cruise lines that handled the response to COVID in a manner designed to keep customers long-term. NCL was one of the cruise lines that didn't. Fortunately, they have a lot of great competition to choose from. It will be some time before I take another NCL cruise or recommend NCL - maybe never again.

I guess "Richie from Atlanta" isn't proactive.

Everyone else have had their certificates extended. Maybe you need to call NCL or just sell, give the rest away.

    Again....Not NCL's fault!

You had 4 years to use them. Just because you don't want to cruise in 2022, thats not NCL's fault.

So....either use them, give them to someone or sell them. Sorry

Thanks for your review. I'm probably the only one, but that limited capacity sounds dreamy. HA. Too often I've been on ships walking around trying to find a seat somewhere or a chair by the pool. I can see how some would view it as sad though. Do you know who your Cruise Director was on the Joy? We're heading out in March, so I definitely expect more capacity then.

    Cruise Director was Roberto 20220205_060031.thumb.jpg.bd5d454c67d4b4444d7d6dddbea2afc8.jpg

    VACRUISER WROTE

"This was my 3rd NCL cruise after 20 with Carnival and oddly enough I’ve seen way more of that on NCL than I ever did on Carnival. I’m talking falling down, sloppy, and in a couple cases passed out drunk. I think most people having unlimited beverages included on NCL may be the issue."

On our cruise back in December, as the ship was leaving Port Canaveral for the beginning of our cruise, our attention was captured by this one couple "dancing" by the pool who must have had intended to get the full benefit of their drink package. As they were onboard the ship, we knew that they had to have had a room not that far away.

DH noted that we must definitely be getting older as we weren't pleased with the couple's lack of inhibition. We were glad that there were no kids around who could get a lesson in post-courting behavior.

    Just havin' fun. Just sayin'
