    Hi,

My father is scheduled to sail on Symphony tomorrow. Severe weather has now cancelled his connecting flight from DFW to MIA. Is there any chance of Symphony being delayed tomorrow due to all the flight cancellations? Good thing I had him flying in a day early.

No reason for them to cancel. Delay yes. This front is pushing through quickly and weather tomorrow for flying looks good or even in a few hours. I just drove the length of the state with it hot on my heels. Jacksonville got hammered. The line started to catch me around  Canaveral. Then I got caught full on in Fort Pierce. Currently its reached the coast near Stuart and drapes back across  state below lake Okeechobee.  I'm in Palm Beach area and I'm thinking another hour til we get it and by 10PM it should be clear of the peninsula...

Careful ordering in advance to deliver to the room. I did that last year. They even asked me what message to say in the icing. I was expecting it first day. It didn't show up. Nor at dinner. The next day we had a tiny box of 6 small pieces of chocolate delivered to the room with a note. She was thrilled but I was pretty taken back that I was expecting a nice chocolate cake that I paid pretty good money for and we got way shorted...

I'm leery of trying to order again... Is it better to order on board? Would that best be done through MDR or maybe guest services?

The difference:  People get on Carnival to get as drunk as they can as fast as the can - RCCL cruisers get on to have a cocktail, relax, and unwind.

I'll go against the grain and agree with you... I saw another post comparing wal mart and target that I kind of agree with as well. I don't see it as a "slam" when its pretty accurate. I used to drink. In fact I was an outright pro at it and Carnival was my go to for that. If I was on another line and Carnival was near us I had a case of envy missing what I viewed as a "more upbeat" atmosphere. When my daughter came of age to join us on cruises I felt RCL  was more "appropriate'. I'm twenty years sober now and enjoy the more mature atmosphere I find on most RCL cruises. I say most because last year I got on a three day that was reminiscent of the Carnival days. I didn't mind but was a little surprised.

  5. Well we were off to a good start... Worried about one breaking now... So confused about screw tops as being good. Its been a long time but the last screw tops I tried you could see cartoon like vapor trails when you opened the bottle...  I hope I pick a good one... Don't want to spend any time in the infirmary having a high heel removed from my scupper... 😮

  6. I don't drink but my sweetie likes a glass of wine now and then. I see we are allowed 2 x 750ml bottles in a carry on to our room. More than likely it will be just one bottle. They tell you to bring it aboard in a carry on and that if its in your checked luggage that they will not deliver it to your room. Odd rule but its their boat. My question is what about a corkscrew and it going through security? I could get a bottle with a distinctive screw on cap but when it comes to cabernet bottled that way its quality closely resembles red bilge water. Any experience along these lines?

Kao kao makes great chocolates.  They are in the "back" of San Miguel.  Not close to the piers.  It is a smallish shop/factory. Family owned.  Wife is from France as I recall.  Worth the tour versus the place that used to be on the tender pier in Belize (moved south).

There is another shop, Isla Bella, next door to Kinta's north of the down town plaza. they have a wide range of chocolates, but I don't think they offer tours.

The tour really is what I'm looking for. Not so much chocolates as such.  She loves chocolate (massages and snorkeling). This tour just seems a little more intimate and hands on than the one being offered by the ship. Don't mind a taxi ride. Your input on several subjects is duly noted and appreciated.

    MEGA

Av. Rafael E. Melgar 799, Centro, 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel

You can put this address into Google maps to find location. It is at the other end of town from the Drugstore.

Here is the website for the Drugstore.

    http://www.cozumeldrugstore.com/#location

These are both in town - a taxi ride from Puerta Maya, if that is where you dock. There are smaller pharmacies in and around the port but I have no experience with them.

Does this one have "consulting physician" there?

  9. I see there is a tour available at this place that seems to be a little smaller and more personal than the one near the ship. Has anybody been? Suggestions? Input?

  10. I have heard the name "Money Bar" injected in a few places as a good spot to snorkel? Do they supply or is it better to bring our own?  Is there some kind of cover charge? I take it there is a bar (Duh!). Do they have food as well? Any good? Last question... Do they offer massages there? I want to treat my fiance' to a nice one... Any other info would be greatly appreciated...

  11. I meant to say Native Choice (Not Native Tours).

I keep looking at that one with a lot of interest... I hear about swimming and kayaking there. Wonder if they have beach massage or snorkeling available?

  12. Sailing on RCL "Indy" on April 29.  They offer a combo tour to the ruins and to the lagoon. Pretty expensive package and not exactly what we want. Yes a quickie to the ruins then was hoping for a beach where my fiancée can get a massage and some snorkeling in?????  I'm seeing some offered by companies not directly affiliated with the ship. One is through Island Marketing? Next is Shore Excursions Group? and Next is Jaital?  They are all priced like half of what RCL tours are... Does anybody have experience with them. I looked at the recommended "Native tours" group but didn't see any excursions offering both. Any suggestions or input on the above listed tour groups?

  13. My girlfriend and I will be on RCCL Independence late April. She wants to see the ruins but we don't feel the need for some long drawn out expensive kill the day type thing. Looking for the simplest and shortest way to see them. Then she has a bucket list thing of snorkeling every place we go. She can't get enough of it! Not necessarily an excursion but some place she can go informally for an hour or two. I found on line one excursion place that does ruins then beach but doesn't mention snorkeling and seems more geared toward their open bar which we're not really interested in...  I see the other thread about snorkeling has derailed into rundowns at Roatan and Cozumel . We have that covered. This question is strictly related to Costa Maya.
