  1. Lately the luggage tags don't say FTTF but they should show PRIORITY. If they don't I would call Carnival!
Ours I printed last night show FTTF, but not PRIORITY. Our boarding passes however, DO show both.

I thought it was pretty strange because I thought both would be on the luggage tags also.

  2. It's amazing to us! We love the choc cake!!! The mousse filling is sooo good. The choc ganache is kinda heavy, but still good. Lol we've ordered the 6"(I think it is) small size every cruise since Feb'16. That one gets eaten quick. The bigger one IS really big (to us),so for 3-4 of us it's too big, we don't get it anymore... But yes, our vote is that it's well worth it! They decorate them nicely also.

  3. Conspiracy theorists be damned, the food in the steakhouse is unrelated to the food in the MDR and Carnival certainly didn't make cutbacks to lure people to extra cost restaurants. All Carnival had to do was offer a free bottle of cheap wine.

Having to serve thousands daily, the food in the MDR is prepared n huge quantities with savings from economies of scale. The steak house food is cooked and prepared to order. Of course it costs more, and is more subject to fluctuations in prices.

    103% Agree!!!

Lol, I knew we'd eventually agree on something [emoji23]

  4. You guys just gave me some hope! I saw it was sold out and didn't think i would have a chance to purchase at all. Now that i know that it sometimes comes back available, i will be checking for sure!!
    That's Awesome![emoji2]

I hope you're able to get it.

Lol, until you hit plat, it's the next best thing since sliced bread [emoji38]

  5. What I will never understand is how you spend your money is any concern of anyone else. To a lot of people, FTTF is worth every penny. You rarely see anyone telling people not to spend money in the casino, play bingo, buy gold by the inch, go to the steakhouse, etc. You never see anyone saying don't book an inside cabin on deck 6 because it costs more than an inside cabin on deck 5 and the view is the same for both cabins. It's your money. Spend it the way you like.
    ^^^Yes Yes YES!^^^

Finally some common sense on MYOB when it comes to Personal Preferences.[emoji16] Geesh some of y'all really go overboard on simple things.[emoji33].

  6. I thought Ecstasy wasn't due back in Charleston until Sunday?
I did also. Then there's one more short sailing before ours on the 22nd. Maybe I read it wrong? Idk. It's really stressful here. We've all been putting up boards for the winds because we live right on the river w/woods around us on the other 3 sides. My hubs had a hard time getting home from the Naval base Charleston this morning at 05:00. Can't imagine what it'll be like now with all the lane reversals. Not seeing how anyone could even get TO the port now.

  7. Now I only have one. We took her when she was about 9 months and just now this past weekend and she is now 2 y/o. We had a blast. We always do a balcony because of the more room and we can be out there when she naps. The trick I think is to bring them toys to be entertained and know you will not be out dancing all the time. Most nights we are back in the room by 9pm. It’s ok it’s just a different type of cruising then when there are no kids. Your still not cooking, cleaning or working so I encourage for the entire family to go it’s better then not taking a vacation. And if your kids cry at night do your best to comfort them. If the neighbors don’t like it they can put the tv on or put on some ear plugs. Get some at the pursers desk for free. I have been on both sides of the table and have enjoyed myself either way. Also tip extra on the first day your room steward as he will be working extra for you.

    Enjoy your cruise!

    THIS ^^^

You sound as though you truly want to go. So go. Worry not about the naysayers on here, especially the ones that will go on about noise. They're kids. Kids make noise. Oftentimes much less noise than drunk adults... Y'all are paying the same as anyone else. Lol, it IS par for Cruise Critics to Critique:) . Your added bonus is that with all the extended family also coming along, you'll have plenty of help/babysitters for some alone time. Although mostly grown now, ours are all 2-3yrs apart. ALL 6 girls at that! Our son is much younger than the girls so he's naturally spoiled rotten...

Anyway, if y'all really want to go, go. It'll be great. Worry not AND go with the flow.

  8. Gosh, The OP said naught about a *review*. They did however, graciously offer to answer any questions that one may have... I swear, some on here live to snark. Lol maybe, when I'm much older, I'll do same...

Now, to the OP: Was it amazing or what?!

We're going on her, sans kids/grands for the first time in a looong time, on Feb 9th. Kinda like a 38year-moon, plenty of years of honey ;)

Lol I'm more excited for the Breeze than our jaunt coming up Sept 22nd!

  9. Your PVP was correct in her description of the sky ride. It's actually just like a bike(for one) only with a bigger stabilized frame. You do indeed pedal it, and you're out over open water for a bit. Lol THAT part scares a lot of pax and I cannot figure out WHY. If it was to fall(IT WON'T) I'd rather hit water than hard deck... Anyway, it's truly a blast and I think you will both enjoy it!

sn: best to YouTube "Carnival Vista Sky Ride" and that way you'll be able to see it yourself... Have a great time on your cruise! No matter WHAT some naysayers say, ANY cruise is a great one. And as in life, you get out of it what you put into it.

  10. Cheers is only offered for the entire time of your cruise on all ships.

    ^^^True.

And, every adult 21+ occupying the *same* cabin as you, must also purchase the Cheers pkg if you do...

I don't drink. My Hubs does. We have never gotten it because the cost of 2 pkgs is waaay higher than he alone would drink. So basically a waste of money that we could put to use elsewhere.

  11. Not really outdated. People have been complaining about the fridges for years
Well' date=' mine was a blanket statement re old threads vs newer ones, that indeed have been outdated. But I do understand what you're saying re this thread. Lol we've not yet had a fridge problem. 'Course we're still languishing with the shiny, not yet to the stone ;)

  12. Thanks for your replies. What is the initial cost for growler purchase?
    No problem.

My Hubs said it was just under $50, but that includes the growler and 1st fill...

We went on the tour which was pretty awesome.

    Lol especially the tasting.

Plus we got glasses to take home and a lil certificate, I think we also got coupons for drinks onboard. That was around $25/pp but totally worth it to learn about how they brew.

Also, there's this amazingly good brew (hope they still make it:)

it's called Port Hoppin IPA. I don't usually drink beer, but it was really good!

Enjoy your Vista/Horizon Cruise and enjoy the RFP& Brewery. We did.

  13. Like I said in my post, I didn't expect them to "do anything". I was merely pointing out that the "perk" is somewhat useless.

I guess it would have been nice if the manager would have pointed out other days/times close to my request that I might have been interested in. Basic customer service....

Based on my cruising history, 14 all on CCL......it is obvious that I don't pick a cruise line based on the loyalty perks.

It's amazing how rude and presumptuous people on this site can be. Remember, it's here to share things about Carnival not

to one up someone.......See you on board......

I completely agree! With your last paragraph especially. Lol I've learned that to be on here, one must have pretty thick skin. I usually laugh darn near everything off. It's the internet. I have discovered a few things here though. So, it does have its uses...

Hahaha maybe it's just a bully-builder-upper for those that choose to be consistently grumpy Gus's🤣

Thankfully they do seem to be in the smallest grouping.

  14. I'm sure they do not do "Growlers" on board. I have seen those big beer tubes filled with beer (red frog pub only), but would be to awkward to take up on deck.
The Carnival growlers, as almost any growler I've seen/gotten(they're pretty cool to use as watering bottles/change savers/ect), are between 64-67(or so) ounces. Lol my Hubs says it's like lugging a half gal of milk around, only it doesn't really "do a body good!" [emoji23]

  15. I have never really posted on here before. I usually just read post. My husband and I have 130 days sailing with Carnival alone. Wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else. Put deposit on a cruise over Christmas as a surprise to my adult kids and grandkids. Two days later I got an email from carnival saying 168 days until you cruise. Did not think anything about it until my daughter in law texted me So.....I just got this emails from carnival and I am so excited. Then the rest of the family got emails. My surprise was ruined!!! Travel agent only had her and my info on the booking. This was generated by VIFP numbers. Anyone else have something similar happen??
I'm so sorry this happened to you! But hey, they WERE surprised, albeit earlier than intended... I know you feel bad now, but I also know the cruise will be a great one!
