You are doing it right, IMO. Book early with a TA and then keep an eye on the price. A good TA will do that for you as well. On our last cruise, ours got us an upgrade that included free wi-fi and drink package.

10 days trumps 7 days every time. We really liked Vision and we really liked Allure. Everything else being equal, we would take Vision

Booked a cruise on the Encore in Feb 2020. Does anyone know if the new NCL terminal at the Miami port will be open then?
We are sailing Feb. 23. Which one are you booked for?

I loved Spice on the Star. I had (wrongly) assumed it was on all ships until I got on the Jade. It was really nice on the Star to spend some time.
We have sailed Star twice. They didn't have Spice back then. They didn't even have O'Sheehans. 🙂 Red Lion Pub was our favorite bar. We were on the Allure Of The Seas last year and decided, we prefer the smaller ships. We are cruising with a group on Encore, otherwise we would not have booked. I think we will have a great time!

We just plan on going and having a good time and not getting too far away from a bar and the music. The more pay areas there are, the less walking we have to do. Our first time as Platinum members, so that will be interesting.

Here's more "news" - on new up-charge specialty/themed "upscale" dining, for "your convenience" of course - officially "announced" this morning ...
Onda by Scarpetta ... "Italiano" dining at sea
Thus, La Cucina on its way out
They don't list Le Bistro, which is on deck 17. Surely that is a Specialty Restaurant?

My concern now is that we're flying (free air perk) in day of cruise from NYC and will there be passes available when I board. I'm thinking we might be ok with increased pricing/increased amount of passes. I could fly in day before but then I'm just adding more expense.
I have a little time to decide so we'll see how things shake out.
Don't think of it as adding more expense. Think of it as adding more vacation. We always fly in a couple days before the cruise. Flying is not a pleasant experience, checking in, going through security, waiting to board, etc. Then if there are connections, you are running to catch the next flight, Not to mention possible delays. Enjoy the extra time, explore the port city and get to the ship early.

I know on the Getaway part of the main pool deck was a smoking area. Also if you want to go to the casino, there should be an enclosed area where you can gamble and smoke.
On Breakaway, the smoking area was not enclosed. It was open to the decks above and below it and there was basically no way to avoid it.
Maltings might have a cigar lounge where people can smoke. Usually one side of the pool deck is for smokers.

Happy upcoming Anniversary! You would have loved it when we had Packer players on our cruises. We even had Bart Starr in 2000. Our only cruise during football season was the Panama Canal one in October, 2011. That was so cool. 15 days on the NCL Star from LA to Tampa. We are doing a Snowbirds Escape cruise from Quebec City to Ft. Lauderdale this October.
-
That is going to be fun! Have you done a Panama Canal cruise yet? We are sailing on the new ship, Encore, Feb 23. Eastern Caribbean, with a bunch of Packer fans.

Definitely sounds worth it. Ours is $124 from Green Bay to Miami.
-
We are going down two days ahead of the cruise. A price that low, I figured there must be additional charges somewhere along the way.
-
Has the service been good? I know they control which airline and the times. We only have 3 airlines in Green Bay, Delta, United and AA. I looked at their regulations at it seems that All NCL does is act like the ticket broker.
Thanks!

This would be for domestic, USA, flights. We are flying from Green Bay to Miami, RT. Even with the restrictions (They choose the airline and the departure times), we are being offered a terrific deal.
Thanks!

Any word on when the actual deck plan will be available?

Our first NCL cruise was the Skyward back in 1983. WOW have ships changed from then.
Our first cruise was the NC Norway in 1998. There will never be another ship like that!

Thank you for your feedback. I was looking at the 11 day Artic circle cruise in June, and the description kept on referring to the Northern Lights. I'd just assumed it was possible to see it from the ship at some point on the trip.
We sailed in June also. Never really got dark. We were able to do a B2B, 11 days Norway and 11 days Baltics. It might not be available now, though.

they are marketing it. to CHINA.
Obviously, but you may have noticed that ships move and often get repositioned. 🙂

We did the Norway Fjords on the Vision. You are going to love the ports! Ship activities are about the same.
Everything... Norwegian ENCORE! Launch Nov 2019

Thank you for clarifying that. So what do you get for $200? When we were on Breakaway, we liked the free area around it.
