we had 2 booked, and 1 got canceled and expecting the other would as well so we called and moved the money to 2 cruises in 2022, just writing off this year for cruising. not going to happen. will be taking a couple of beach vacations somewhere this summer and fall. it will end sometime and we can get back to a bit of normal. may never be like it once was but we can deal with it.

they do not put a gratuity on the free drinks so we always carry a stack of ones and never wait on a waiter. often they are checking back before we have finished the last drink. we tip a couple ones for each drink. have met and gotten to know some really wonderful bar waiters on our cruises. usually try to find the really special ones the last night to say bye and give a little extra $$ to them.

we had a cruise booked for late April 2021 and it was 8 days. yesterday knowing 8 day cruises are not going to happen and doubt very much that any will go as early as April anyway we went ahead and moved ours out a year. they told us not charging any change fees at this time because of covid. if things return to somewhat normal and we feel safe could come back and book something for late fall 2021.

no too much to worry about if he only sold 5 million and kept 80 million.
i would worry if it was the other way around.

What makes you think an April 2021 cruise will be cancelled?
If you think the coronavirus is going to still be around, remember so is the flu and NORO. Coronaviruses in the past typical have a second surge in November and December. We're seeing that now. But treatments are improving. This has lead to a reduced severity of the virus, in it's effects and length of quaratnine. Testing is improving and by April, there should be enough people vaccinated to reduce the spread risk to those most at risk.
Why not wait until end of January and see if indeed ships are sailing?
i see no way cruising will be going in April. the vaccine according to all involved with it will probably not be available to the general public by then., and will take at least the rest of the year to get everyone vaccinated. this is all from the mouths of the experts in the field of dispensing the vaccine. also unless the current administration starts dealing with the next one there will likely be a large gap in the process.
i expect the cruiselines by way of the cdc to require both testing and probably a vaccine to board when they do start up. also mask wearing will undoubtedly continue for quite a while.

once there is a vaccine and most have gotten it then it would be safe to cruise again. until then it is absolutely not going to happen. no one in the government is going to allow a ship full of people in close quarters to cruise around and then get off the ship and carry whatever they contracted back home to be spread. there is just no way to make it safe. restaurants on land at half capacity are not even safe.

another issue with all the cruises scheduled now is that many of them may be scheduled for ports that will not be accepting cruisers yet. especially with the surge in covid cases around the world but especially in the US. there may be way more cruises scheduled a few months out than places to go.
-
they are not going to tell you anything about what restrictions there may be because as of now there is no plan in place.
the reason there is no plan is the fact they all know there will be no cruising any time soon. they just are not will to admit that or people will quit sending them money,

imagine the rest of the year at least will disappear as time goes on. doubt they will be willing to load ships with people in a tight area like that until there is a successful vaccine or treatment. my next one is booked for april 2021 and it may not be happening by then even. this pandemic is very serious and cruising will probably be one of the last things to make a comeback.

our cruise is next April and the last email we got said they would have our room assignment and booking done on Monday the 20th. it will be interesting to see what their room choice will be to match a room that didn't even exist yet on the Radiance.
we had chosen one of the new rooms to be added.
-
can't imagine there will be any travel for the next couple of months. this is early and a long way to go to beat this virus. the ones that know say it will get worse before better and could be way worse. I have one booked for October and that may be safe.

we were on this one as well and your trip sounds pretty much like ours. we went to Atlantis for a few hours and then back onboard to watch a matinee movie on the big screen. HMC was great as always. trip back to Charleston was a bit of a wild ride. we agree the casino leaves a lot to be desired, but spent our share of time and money there. we had booked at a casino rate that basically cost us nothing for the room and came with free drinks card for both so our only expense was what we spent. a good getaway but we prefer longer cruises.

they would know if you had been to China. I am sure the manifest is being checked against passports used to enter China in the last few weeks. your name is submitted to homeland security 24 hours before departure. probably have a connection to the State Dept as well that can check. don't think they would leave it up to passengers to admit.

we leave in 10 days for our 6th cruise on this ship. Our favorite of 8 ships we have been on.
the first time we were not so sure we liked it, but gave it another try and loved it since.
-
in September we went on a premier and went to the cage and they counted out $1000 for me, and $500 for my wife in cash. in fact on every casino booked cruise we have been on it has always been cash. the last one was the most though.

The people switching need to go to get new keys. they program a new one so you only need to have the one key. we have done this many times. they will never question the cheers part of it.
-
we have been on a few and never had to pay extra if we were booked and then switched to premier. normally we have gotten between $500 and $1000 free play each and drink cards for both of us. we really enjoyed them and did not think the casino was any more crowded most of the time. the extra drawings and games were not very much and we avoided most of them because that was when the casino became more crowded. we also book under other casino rates as well as in February booked a free room and only pay fees and taxes. they will get their money some way.
-
we buy it by the case on Amazon and take it on every cruise. never have had any issues. in fact it is in my backpack thru the scanner and they have never asked to see it. we pre order a liter of vodka for the room and make our own drinks there.

we are on this Saturdays cruise as well. it will be our fifth time on the Sunshine. it is one of our favorites, and I think you will like the ship. whether we get to do our itinerary is the big question now, and how rough the seas will be. we cruise the atlantic a lot and it can be rough at times. we will have lots of fun no matter what.
-
we have cruised on the Pride 6 times since 2012 and there has always been the vibration in the aft of the ship. it does not bother us but is quite noticeable in the dining room in particular.
-
within about 2 hours of leaving port. have cruised the Pride from there 6 times and always the same.
-
we have done 5, 6, 7, and 8 night cruises and try to do at least 7 and prefer 8 if at all possible.
-
Should be Saturday which is first sea day and most likely Thursday which is Grand Turk day. second one could be Wednesday which is a sea day.
-
we love all the rooms aft on deck 5. the only place we will book. have an aft balcony in 3 weeks.
