The seaview cafe was one of my favorite spots on the Radiance, loved eating outside with a great view of the ocean.

Yes, good question. I'm still waiting to hear if there is some alternative to the ridiculous $19/day parking fee which adds up to $171 for a nine night cruise.
You think that's ridiculous try parking at the NY Pier 30 dollars a day

Be sure to explore the Fitness Center. There is a massive indoor hot tub there plus locker rooms with a sauna, steam room, large showers, and plenty of towels. No need to check out a RCL towel that you have to keep track - just take what you need from the locker room.
Great idea about the towels from the locker room, let's kee
It our little secret so RCCL doesn't catch on. LOL

Radio really enjoying your live reports. How crowded did the ship feel to you? I'm in the process of researching our next cruise April 2012, trying to determine if the Oasis class ship is right for us.

Thankfully I found your thread. I always enjoy reading your reviews and would of been disappointed if I missed your latest. Maybe you should rename your review so it doesn't get hidden on this thread.

Can you imagine how much your photos would of cost if you were actually using film like the old days.

Small world-I looked back at old CC posts-seems the Southward bult in 1971 was often the initiation to cruising. It was our first cruise and have a file from that cruise in 1985, and a porthole room for two with airfare was $2400!
A poster on wall lists Southward gross tonage at 16,000, 536 long and 75 wide. Crew 300, 767 passenger max. We thougt it was big then!
Far cry from the Victory at: 101,609 tonnage,893 long, 116 wide with
crew of 1,100 and passengers 2,758.
Cruising seems a much better value now.
We also thought the Southward was big until St Thomas. In 1988 the biggest cruise ship in the world was the Sovereign of the Seas. When we awoke in St. Thomas and went on deck our ship looked like the Sovereigns lifeboat.

I noticed your first cruise was on the Southward. Back in 1988 the Southward was our first cruise. I still have great memories of the Southward.

Being our first cruise we thought the Southward was a huge ship. Our ignorance was evident when waking up in Saint Thomas Soverign of the Seas was Docked behind us. I thought we were the Tender.

Anyone remember cruising on the Southward. We sailed her on our very first cruise (March 88) and have many fond memories. Anyone want to share any Southward stories we would love to hear them.

Problem with Cape Liberty, the damm spray from the dry dock that sometimes land on your car.
