  1. We are set to cruise on Carnival Vista next January with four ports and three sea days. We had talked about the getting the drink package too. But, I looked at the cost for eight days and it is $997 for two. So, I think for us it is not worth it since we will be off the boat quite a bit. What I am going to do is buy bar credits over the next year. If it were a three or four day cruise with only a couple ports then it may be worth it.

  2. Good morning,

We are currently booked on the GOS for next January 16 but serioulst comtemplating switching to AOS for the southern route as we have only been to one of the ports.

My question is about the beverage package and those who may have bought it on a port intensive cruise. We are trying to figure out if it is worth it? On other cruises we have been happy getting our drinks in port......

Trying justify the airfare to San Juan and figured if we did not do beverage package that that alone would be our airfare.

    Thanks

  3. The port itself is not the best and I would not just walk around Belize city. That said we have been there twice on a cranival cruise. Our first was with our five kids ranging in age at the time 14 to 3. I researched everything. We finally settled on a swim with the Rays and an afternoon on caye caulker. It was so beautiful. The snorkeling was utterly amazing! The guides were amazing to our older three kids (14,12 and 10). The island was so simple and sweet. Water amazing!! Lunch was fantastic! Second time we went in 2011 for our oldest graduation cruise. This time we only had our three oldes (18,16 and 14). This his time we just wanted to get to caye caulker so we hired a water taxi before we left the states. Yes, walking to the side where the water taxis are May be a unsettling........just people asking to take you in tours. Our 16 year daughter was super hot walking there so we went and sat in the customs area. They were so kind and got her water. We again had a great day. Caye caulker is worth the visit!!

Book something through a tour company with good reviews or thru the ship😊

  4. I have only cruised on each of them once.....Vision of the Seas to Alaska in 2006 (our first cruise) and then NCL Gem in June 2013. We have also taken five carnival cruises and loved them too. They definatly did extras on the Gem....coming back in from port they had frozen wash cloths, frozen grapes.....just little things. I remember the food being quite good on VOS and very good on the Gem.

I also like Carnival, tho I know many do not. We are a family of 7 so it is for sure more affordable and they have always been lovely to our kids.

I don't think you could go wrong with either. I am always happy to get away and not have to do anything for a week!! Sometimes the food wasnt the best but I remind myself that they are feeding 2000 people:)

    Take care,

  5. We cruised on Grandeur this past Thanksgiving. It was about 36 degrees when we sailed, and I think it started to get warmer by evening of

  6. Hi all,

I tried to post this on the GOTS page but can't not figure out how to start a new thread. Apologies in advance.

We are booked January 2016 on the Granduer from Baltimore. We are very excited to cruise from Maryland. Also excited to cruise under the bay bridge..... We live about ten minutes east of the bridge.

I am curious are you in warmer'ish weather on day two? We have only ever cruised in the summer. But could not pass up a great price and no flight fares.

    Thank you so much,

    Sandi

  7. We were there a 1 1/2 years ago and also got there early. My daughter was swimming with the dolphins so we made our way slowly there. Once done we were just going to take a taxi back to the ship. We happened upon this nice taxi driver who ended up taking us all the island for like two hours. I think we spend like $40 or $50........he was so nice and told us everything about this lovely island. We too went to the Rum place which is delish!!! He came in with us and waited for a good thirty minutes. You will find something to do for sure even if it is hiring someone to drive you around the island.

    Have a great time!!

  8. We don't leave for a year but I know we will for get this package. I am surprised that not everyone has to buy a package if in same cabin. On a NCL cruise a couple years ago I was going to buy their package but I would also have to get soda package for my daughter.

    Does it include redbull?

I think it's a good deal and nice not to have any suprises☺️

    Take care

    Sandi.
