Not only could it get lost but the way baggage is handled makes me cringe to think of my CPAP being in one of those bags being tossed. Consider the possibility of damage.

I wouldn't be mad about it. San Juan was nothing special and I personally won't go back. A run down "city" with cops everywhere and people trying to shove nic nacs down your throat.
Not the San Juan we know. We'll take San Juan over Nassau any day in a heart beat.

Just to clarify, I meant to say second sea day. Looks like yesterday she just tooled around off the coast. At least that's how it appeared on Marinetraffic.com.
-
I see the MG is in Nassau today which would be the second day of the current cruise so I'm thinking a similar trip to what BabyJacks had. We are on her 2/26 and I'm thinking we will see the same itinerary. We much prefer SJ to Nassau but that's the way it goes. We're still cruising, so happy campers.😄

Also agree with dressing the way you feel is right. just my thoughts but I would ask myself, what would he be enjoying on the cruise and how would he be dressed for the day? If my family were doing this for me I would want them to be celebrating my way of enjoying the trip, dressing as I would have been dressed, and having a good time. But again, that's just me.

You're making me crazy waiting for our sailing in Feb. Love the pics though.

We sailed on the Horizon in November 2021 and asked our Room Steward to clean in the evening. I also told the RS to feel free to enter our stateroom when we were out to take out the garbage and fill our ice bucket. In the evening, he would clean our bathroom, leave fresh towels and refill our ice bucket.
As a comparison, we went to Gatlinburg, TN in September 2021 for a four night stay in a popular chain hotel. When we checked in, we were informed that no housekeeping staff would be servicing our room until we checked out. So, for four days, we had to gather all our wet towels for 4 people and carry them down to the check-in desk who would give us clean towels. We also had to go down to the check-in desk for soap, shampoo, etc. As far as garbage is concerned, we were required to gather all our garbage, put it in the garbage cans in our room and place them in the hall outside our door. Housekeeping would come around, pick up the garbage and leave the empty cans in the hall. I hope the cruise lines do not move in this direction, it was a PITA.
Very similar to what we went thru in Mobile, AL at Christmas. Like you said, PITA.

Unless the steward is breathing in your face I wouldn't be too concerned. The reported evidence is that the virus is airborne and it is very unlikely to contract the virus from surfaces. So, I'm more than happy to let them clean my cabin.

Was there Rapid testing at the port?
Friends of ours were on the Dream.
-
Rainy and low 50's here inland. Not a great day. There's aways another weekend.

Was going to head over to the port to watch her leave but it's just to nasty a day.

Enjoy! We're on her 2/26

I call it the way I see it -- and cremated human remains do NOT look like dust.
I know what my brothers looked like when we as a family spread his ashes. Mostly like dust, not pea gravel. You can say what you want, I know what I saw. Oh, and still have some of them in a vial.

Not necessarily 'odd' but I always look for a military vet (usually wearing a cap with their branch) and buy them a drink of their choice. A simple way to say thanks for serving.

I would be very surprised if a good number of those little chunks of calcium are not, in fact, dust particle size;
They are, my brothers ashes were mostly like dust, very few so called "chunks".

On the Pride at the beginning of Dec it was only available in a couple of bars. Mainly the Atrium and the casino.
Funny thing, there was plenty in the Fun Shops.
-
There are a couple of hotels that would be walkable to terminal 2 or 3 but I myself would not want to drag my luggage that far.
-
I don't know, our Pride cruise in early Dec seemed pretty full and a report I read said it was 100% but I can't confirm that.

I have no qualms with telling people we're cruising. If they make comments I tell them it's my life, not theirs, and I'll do what works for me. I also tell them cruising is safer than going grocery shopping considering the requirements to cruise. Who asks if you're vaccinated at the door of Publix, Wally world or Winn Dixie? And, no mask needed there.

Have used the parking garage many times without problem but I would not consider it "secure" as anyone can enter it directly from the street. I always make sure nothing of value is visible in my vehicle.

I also wonder how many of the complaints of bland / tasteless food may be due to Covid and people don’t realize they are or have been infected previously.
Speaking for us, not caused by covid. Off the ship, food was just fine. Plenty of flavor at guys as well, especially the fries.

- All of the food was super bland. No flavor, no salt. Upon reflection, my wife and decided that dinner at a local cafeteria would have been a better option than the food offered at the dining room and Lido on every night.
The staff was wonderful. It seemed like everyone was very appreciative to be back at work. The food quality was just very subpar, and very disappointing;
Agree 100%. The food on Pride back at the beginning of the month was awful in our opinion and I said just that on my post cruise survey.

As others have said, be happy with what you got considering all Carnival is required to do is return port fees.

Sailing on the Pride in January. Instead of Grand Cayman, we get Costa Maya. Never been there. We have another cruise scheduled in December that was already supposed to go to Costa Maya. I reserved space for us at Maya Chan. What are your thoughts on the replacement port?
We had a great time at Maya Chan. Excellent service.
