  1. i just had an interesting experience on the Legend with Gift Cards. I had a bunch of them and went to the GS to apply to my account. The gentlemen that was assisting left me standing there for quite some time came back and stated that he had to email them the numbers to validate them and it would take at least 24 hours. I never experience that before. I told him i was going to try the Kiosk. I went to the Kiosk and was able to apply some of them but not all of them. I'm thinking they have a limit on how many you can apply at one time. So i waited a bit walked back up to GS when he wasn't there and the next GS rep said sure no problem would you like a receipt with all of them. I said sure. He ran each one through and signed and when it was completed he handed me all the receipts. Of course i went down for something else when the first GS rep was there and was in the Platinum line. Someone walked up to the regular line after me and he asked who was first. Well i'm not one to say anything but the other guest said she was he first. Well first off i should have been taken first anyway with being in the Platinum line. He was the most unpleasant GS rep i have ever had. Oh on that stop there i had asked for extra luggage tags - number 1 and he said are you sure you are number 1. Well yes i am they are blue with a 1 on them but there are 3 of us in the room and we only got 3. Aren't all platinum guests number 1. I had my card out in plain sight. Anyway i was able to use my gift cards at both the Kiosk and GS (with the right person) :)

  2. i just got off the Legend and i didn't care what the ship looked like we were in the beauty of Alaska. We did take some pricier shore excursions and then took some that weren't as pricey. We did do the exploration ship to get up closer to the glacier. It was beautiful and we got to see some really big calving. No it wasn't Tracy Fjord but the beauty of it was wonderful. The ship was able to get closer than then everyone thought it would and they also got some great shows if you were on the outside deck with binoculars. In Juneau we did Mendelhall Glacier and gardens. Oh my gosh was the gardens beautiful. This was not an expensive tour. In Skagway we did the jeep tour and it was a little pricey but not anymore than a jeep tour in the Caribbean. We drove over 200 miles round trip from Skagway to Carcross and once again i didn't think the scenery could get anymore beautiful but was surprised again. In Ketchikan we did do one of the more expensive tours with taking the bush plane over to watch bears during the salmon run. In Victoria we just walked around town and took in the awe of the town. Would i do Alaska again - maybe years from now but put it on your bucket list and if you don't do it now do it later. Did i have any problems with the Legend - no the staff were great and friendly. Do get a balcony cabin so that you can sit outside watching for blow spray from the whales that you will see. We went the last week of July and was very lucky to have no rain and really nice weather. Would i hesitate to go on the Legend - NO!

  3. Thanks for the tip. No they were not out of the $500.00 if i had scrolled down further i would have seen them. They were not next to each other in the view. I will make sure i look more closely. At least it wasn't a horrible price difference. But i will tell you that i never realized this but then i normally always get the $500.00 one.

  4. Check Fairfield Inn by Marriott by Sea-Tac. They have a cruise package. They pick up at the airport - take you to the port - pick you back up at the port and bring you back to the hotel where you can take the hotel shuttle to the airport.

  5. Not sure if you have a IPhone or an Android phone but you could get the social plan through carnival and then you can Imessage back and forth with your kids. If you have an Android phone you could download whatsapp and use that to message back and forth. You leave your phone on airplane mode and turn on the wifi. both of these type of messages go over the Wifi connection. You won't be able to call them though. My friend tried the international calling and texting and it did not work on the ship only once we got into a port stop. It was a pain and she just used the Carnival plan to communicate while on the ship.

  6. it may have been cancelled. Had the same thing happen to me on our Liberty cruise in St Martin. I booked an excursion then all of sudden it was showing a different excursion that i couldn't even pull up and read about as it was not listed. Did n't receive any notification about this change. Then about 1 week later received an email stating that the operator has cancelled this excursion.

Had to pick something else entirely.
