  1. I used one for my first cruise and he wasn't very good Dump him so I've been doing them myself . Am I missing out on anything by doing that?

    A good TA, if you cruise frequently, will advise of Visas required, shots required, etc.

    I know of a horror story of a lady who booked her cruise to Manaus Brazil.

    She and others were denied boarding because they did not have Brazilian Pass Ports and Yellow Fever shots.

    She and others forfeited all of their money.

    They did not read their Cruise Docs.

  2. I'm starting to suspect that the cabin I've selected is right above a designated smoking area...? We'll be on Emerald deck, cabin E701 - aft starboard, just above an outside deck area. We're non-smokers, and while not at all fanatical about smoke, by the same token I'd prefer to not be overwhelmed by it either when on the balcony.

    Can anyone confirm if we are above the smoking area? If so, has anyone had a cabin in this immediate area that can provide feedback on the smoke situation? I realize it would all depend on how many smokers are on the cruise etc, but would appreciate any available feedback!

    Also, where is smoking location information located on the Princess site?

    Thanks!

    The smoking area on Deck 7 is at the far end of the Deck.

    No problem with your Cabin.

    Enjoy your Cruise.

  3. Where can you smoke on the Regal Princess besides Churchills?

    On the Royal, the aft of deck 16 is a large carpeted area with coffee and tea on site in the morning and servers onsite the rest of the day.

    On the Regal's deck plan, they show a pool in that area.

    Is there another area where smoking is permitted?

  4. What lounges and bars are reserved for Princess tours on the Emerald?

    We have a group of 40 plus for a tour in Spain and Vines may be too small of an area for us. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    A word of caution.

    DO NOT exchange any money in view of Ship's Officers.

    Princess does not take too kindly on Private Tours in competition with Ship's Tours.

  5. There is a covered deck area just forward of the aft pool but it's set for tables and chairs, not loungers, and it's frequently overrun with smokers.

    Found that the area is an "authorized" smoking area.:eek:

  6. I happened upon that area on the Royal by accident and it was used as a smoking area and really reeked of smoke. Is smoking allowed in this area on the Regal?

    Yes --:(

    Deck 17 Aft is a smoking area on both the Royal and Regal.

  7. Does anyone know if the aft pool on the Regal is adults only.

    It would be a shame if it is....being right outside the kids club.

    Thx

    If you meant the terrace pool, no I don't think it is. It is a VERY small pool however.

    Was on the Regal TA and did not notice any "Adults Only" signs.

  8. I hesitate to stick my foot in the water on this thread but here goes. Would someone who is familiar with the smoking areas on the Royal please comment on what they are like?

  9. Hi Pam, can you please tell me when to set up the Princess E Z Check for $20? Do I arrange this before the cruise begins or while on the cruise? Sounds like a good idea, especially that I can use it flying out of Ft. Lauderdale. By the way, you give GREAT information and advice in cruise critic boards! Thanks!

    Not Pam; however, I will answer your question.

    You will receive a form, during the Cruise; about a week before arriving.

    Fill out the form and take it to the PSD. Usually about four days before arrival.

    I always take a copy of my flight booking to attach to the form.

    You will receive Boarding Pass(es) and Luggage Tags the evening before arrival.

    Depending on your Air Line, you may be charged for extra bags, by Princess.

  10. A "GROUP" flashing "ONE":confused::confused:

    That's not a surprise to me with a black card ringleader who ignored the clearly stated rules that it applies only to joining the end of a tender line so it's not a surprise they'd try to take a group with them. :mad:

    Doesn't surprise me either:(

    Ring leader probably tried to get free laundry for his "group" also.:rolleyes:

  11. We were in line to disembark in Greenock last week. Not a tender port. The line was all around the Piazza and we were pretty close to the front. A group of people came up and started to push ahead of us, flashing one black Elite card, saying, "We have priority." We happily flashed our black cards right back and explained that they better get to the back of the line 'cause it was getting longer and longer. They argued but it was a lost cause with us.

    Rude people everywhere who think they're entitled.

  12. There have been a number of posts claiming that the mid-ship elevators on the Royal and Regal are smaller than on the Grand class. Some of the posts have called them "tiny tubes of terror."

    I have no first hand knowledge of the size of these elevators.

    The elevators do seem to be smaller on the Royal.

    I do not know the exact dimensions but upon entering the elevator for the first time I did notice a difference.

    Many people commented on the size.

  13. Well, I understand that the Royal lighting system in the rooms uses the cruise cards to work...so, the wrist band would be tricky there.....

    Was on the Royal TA last November and I used a Business Card in the slot.

  14. In the past, I've always had the Princess countdown clock on my desk top. Now,we just booked a new cruise and I wanted to put that one on my desk top. Can't figure out how to do it. Can anyone help? Thanks!

    To set as your Wall Paper --

    Right click on your Count Down Clock.

    Click on: Set as Back Ground.

    Hope that this is what you are looking for.

  15. Oh, one more- no more "darken ship" at night, the ship is lit up, well, like a cruise ship:D.

  17. Just read a lovely review on Royal Princess and it seems that there is a small spot on that Promenade Deck for smokers. Could anyone tell me if it is aft or front and right or left. Thank you beforehand.

    Aft - On Starboard Side

  18. Does the aft smoking area on deck 17 have any shade at all? Some of us who are not bothered one way or the other about the smoke smell, would enjoy the wake view but not being in full sun.

    The Aft area is partially shaded by an over hang.

    There are quite a few Deck Chairs.

  19.

    They worked perfect for both myself and the other guy using them first thing this morning. :D

    Boy David since you get Elite free laundry it's way above and beyond paying to get tokens just to have a picture to post here. You're the man!

    I believe that Dave is Platinum.

  20. Ok, new to the entire cruise thing, and having a difficult time reading some posts as they tend to use a lot of abbreviations that I'm not familiar with... If you know, please help explain what the following abbreviations mean, feel free to add any more that I haven't seen as of yet, but am sure to run accross....

    DD = Dear Daughter

    DS = Dear Son

    DH = Dear Husband

    DW = Dear Wife

    b2b = Back-To-Back Cruise

    thanks to those who answer these...

    Hope that this helps;)
