  1. Like you said a lot can happen between now and then.  I hope you get your 8 day....8 days are my favorite.  I have an 8 in 2022.  It's frustrating not to be able to really plan things because you just don't know what situation we'll be in.  I certainly hope that life is back to normal by then.  It's a virus.  There are germs.  There always were, and always will be.  The testing is extremely flawed, and that causes a tidal wave of unnecessary other issues.   I hope and pray things are back to normal much sooner rather than later.

  2. I have heard about it,  just for the first time on Thursday.  To briefly sum it up from my very basic understanding, they are amplifying the samples larger than they are supposed to, and it is creating a ton of false positives.

She showed me her booking and said she hasn't prepaid for anything yet. It's a mystery why she got that much, but I don't want to jeopardize her losing it if I bring it up so I haven't said anything to Carnival. I just accepted my $200 and will be happy for her $500.

I'd feel terrible if I brought it up to Carnival and they say "Oops! Looks like we made a mistake with her booking", and they lower her back to $200. So i'll just keep quiet....but man, how i'd love to have $500 OBC for a 4 day cruise!!

I wouldn't say anything either.  Maybe she'll share a bit and put a specialty restaurant or some of your cocktails on her nice little OBC 😀

My friend showed me her booking today and I was shocked to see she was given $500 OBC!! She said she has no idea why they gave her so much but of course she's beyond thrilled with it lol.

We had the same Nov. booking that we both changed to the same May booking with the $200 OBC offer. I got $200 and for some reason she got the $500. We're both solo with our own cabins and it's a 4 day sailing.

We're also both Gold status too so I doubt it's because of that. The only thing I can think of is maybe because of her age (80) they gave her more? I'm very happy for her, but just wondering why I didn't get the same offer since we're both booked with the same offer and price. Our cabins are right next door to each other too.

Should I call and ask about it? I don't want them to discover it was a mistake by pointing it out to them and then they take it away from her....i'd feel terrible! But $500 OBC for 4 days is such a great deal , i'm wondering if maybe I missed something when I made the change with my booking, or the rep I used overlooked something.

Part of me says leave it alone and don't say anything if it was a mistake on Carnival's part. I want her to have that $500...but I also want it too . 😩

Should I just be happy with my $200?

You're in a tough spot there.  Could she have possibly pre-paid for things onboard that they converted to an OBC?

  5. I'm glad this worked out so well for you and your friend.  I hope cruising is "normal" in the spring too.  Please write a review if you can!

I was supposed to go this December, it was cancelled, and was also supposed to go December 2021 (also cancelled).  I got refunded on the one from this year, and since I only paid a deposit on the one for December 2021 I decided to take the chance and rebook that one with the $600 OBC for February 2022.  It's a shame because I finally got my Mom (77 yrs young) to agree go with me this year which would've been her first cruise, but now she flat our refuses to go with me in 2022.  I also think it's too premature to even plan for her to go with me then as well, so I'm going to enjoy that $600 SOLO, which is also totally great.

  6. I booked for February 2022.  I had two cruises cancelled...the Breeze in December 2020 and the Sunrise in December 2021.  I had to use my airfare voucher from United by July of 2022...I picked February based on a combination of wanting to wait until 2022, my availability being early-mid-February, April, May, pricing, ships, itinerary.  March had some good deals but I'm a bagpiper so March is off the list ☘️.  May and June started to get expensive.  So, early February it is.  I also am doing my payment different this time.  Instead of doing a ton of small payments over time I'm just doing one big payment when it's due.

  7. I wasn't on the Panorama, I was on the Sunrise for December 2021 and rescheduled that to February 2022 on the Magic.  I agree with you that options were limited...I booked a month ago and it was a little challenging to find something that met my criteria,  that was also prior to my sail date deadline.  It still looks as though sailings are limited, plus I heard that Carnival isn't going to be sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale (no idea if it's true or not but last time I looked a month ago they didn't have any options) so it seems like they're still being conservative with options right now.

  8. It depends on the situation.  Always look at the calendar for events, concerts, festivals, etc. in the area you're thinking of booking.  Sporting events, festivals, holidays, the peak/low season, etc. for the hotels location all affect availability and price.

If I'm flying in 2-3 days prior to the cruise and making my homeport part of my vacation, then I'm much more picky about where I stay, and book as soon as the booking window opens up, which is usually a year or so out, especially if I want a certain type of room such as a waterfront balcony, etc.

If I can only fly in a day beforehand I'll be more lenient on where I choose and will narrow down an area that I'm happy with (walk to shops/restaurants, and a nice pool) and do a Hotwire/Priceline at minimum 4 months prior, but again this also depends on the time of year and local events calendar for that location.  I'm also not picky about the type of room I get for just one day.

Those eggs don’t taste fake and watery to you? I used to eat some of their burritos. I just can’t take it anymore. I have too many Moe’s and chipotle at home.

I thought they were fine, but I've only had them on one of my cruises so maybe I got lucky.

  10. You gotta try it, SO GOOD.  I agree with Skrufy, I'm sure they'll do it for you.  I am also like Stella, I love my breakfast burritos, they're delicious!!.  It's funny because Guys Burgers has so many fans, but I just think it's "meh" I can take it or leave it.  But Blue Iguana....its the bomb.

  11. I was on the Breeze December 5.  I feel your pain!  I haven't gotten my email yet either.  As far as the app goes, you have to logout.  Once you log back in, you can enter a new booking # (if you have a cruise already booked in the future) and that one will show....the one that was just cancelled will not show anymore.  We were told that we should get an email by tmrw, July 10th.  Im still going to give them another week or so.

  12. I was supposed to be on the Breeze on December 5th. As of now I'm going to take the refund.  I haven't received my email yet, but I don't want my money tied up with a rebooking....what if they go bankrupt?  I'm already booked on the Sunrise for December 2021 (so far just have the deposit put down), and that cruise is MUCH cheaper than the one that just got cancelled.  I'm going to hold off on making any payments on that one until this situation calms down and travel resumes normally.

  13. Me too.  I was supposed to sail on December 5th.  Not happy that they bumped our cruise to accommodate the Radiance passengers, and I'm sure Radiance passengers aren't thrilled either.  This would've been my Mom's first cruise...she's 77, and I don't foresee that I can take her with me next year, but it is a possibility.  That is disappointing....I booked this cruise in the fall of 2018!

I'm taking the refund.  I'm already booked on the Sunrise in December 2021 and there just isn't a time I can cruise before then.  I also don't want any hassles with masks, etc. on my vacation and even though my boss is very chill I have one co-worker that would squawk if I went to Florida and didn't do the 2 week quarantine when I got home to NJ.

It's kind of hard to believe EVERY 7 day cruise has sold out.

The OP wanted suggestions, I gave her one. When you think of how many travelers have been affected and have rebooked, and that 7 days are very popular....Who knows.  We can all speculate and we can all be wrong.  All we can do is wait and see.

We are booked on a cruise 10/25 out of Baltimore on the Pride, 7 days.  It is gone also.  As the OP stated only 3, 4 & 5 day cruises show availible.

My personal opinion is that they are planning to start off with shorter cruises first.  I am failry certain the 6+ day cruises in October will be cancelled.  My big hope is that if they are going to to that, they do it before my final payment date of July 27th.

It could be that it sold out.  With all the cancelled cruises people were booking into the fall and winter.  I'm booked on the Breeze in early December and ours is gone too, but I know that it has been teetering on the verge of being sold out for a while.  They also rescheduled a big poker tournament to our cruise too, apparently.  Keeping fingers crossed that you can sail in October.
