  1. Don't know, hence the question. Have not cruised with Cunard before but have always got butler to store bags for us out of our cabin on other lines so wanted to know if Cunard will do the same.
  2. Hi all, Sailing on QE in a Q4 soon and wanted to ask experienced Cunarders, is it possible to ask the butler to store empty cases or do they need to be kept in the cabin? Thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks to all and happy cruising.
  4. Many thanks, most helpful. Are the Q1s not Aft on QV as they all appear to be on QE? We too are not fans of aft cabins after booking an Owners cabin on another line that was similarly positioned at the rear of the ship. Don't really understand the layout for the Q1s.....dining table and bath have no view but do in Q2s from what I can tell.
  5. Thanks so much. Realise they are both fantastic spaces but my question is differences (other than size) of a Q4 to a Q2 experience and successful upgrade bid experiences.
  6. Hello to the Cunarders, Just received an upgrade email for our upcoming 5 day QE2 voyage. We are currently in a Penthouse (Q4) but have been offered a Q2 (or Q1) to bid on for an upgrade. We don't like the location or layout of the Q1s but wanted any advice as to whether it is worth bidding for a Q2 upgrade? Can any regulars who have stayed in both give us any tips? Has anyone successfully bid and won? Would be about 50% extra cost but we would get a 100% more space.....other than that I can't see what the benefit would be. Thanks in advance. 7. Thanks so much Jack. Was beginning to think no one understood what I was asking about. On another another nameless cruise line, we ordered a full welcome package with flowers, champagne etc etc and it was a disaster & VERY (US$600) expensive. The flowers were dead on arrival to our cabin and the champagne was cheap sparkling. We ended up getting a refund but it just started things off in such a disappointing way when it should have had the opposite effect. Whilst our cruise is not as long as yours, it is impressive that Cunard were happy to re-fresh the arrangement for you. Based on the photos you posted and the pricing, we will certainly look at ordering flowers now. Thanks very much. 🙂
  8. Not disappointing just hoping to hear from people who have ordered some of the packages offered on the website to see if they are worth the $$$. https://www.cunard.com/en-au/activity-types/gifts/celebration-package Not interested in singing or cakes or anything like that.
  9. Hello Cunarders, Hope you are all well. We are cruising for the first time with Cunard and celebrating two special (40s the final season!! & 60th) birthdays. Whilst aware of the various gift and additional add on packages that can be arranged for staterooms, we have had incredible difficulty in accessing either online or accurate info (due to non working Cunard links) regarding exact & accurate inclusions and pricing despite contacting Cunard (4 times) directly. We would like to arrange special treats where possible for each other but also have friends and family who want to make our special (and very rare break) cruise even more memorable. Has anyone enjoyed (and successfully arranged) special birthday arrangements (paid or otherwise) on Cunard? Are they worth the effort? We are travelling Queens Grill P4........ is our occasion just something we mention on board or should we add it to our booking somehow via another method before the cruise? As always on this wonderful forum, all info and advice appreciated. 🙂
  10. Hi Cunarders, Can any experienced Cunard Cruisers in Australian waters please advise: If the onboard Cunard app for things like dinner reservations etc is on a wi-fi network that is presumably free to all Guests (those with or without internet packages/minutes) can this also be used for something like FaceTime Audio on an iPhone to connect with a missing husband or a delayed wife onboard? Hope this makes some sort of sense. Thanks in advance. 🙂
  11. Thanks blue marble, perhaps this is what I read and was thinking of. 🙂
  12. Thanks BigMac, do you mean the wine packages are not a good option or the beverage package?
  13. Thanks sfred. Thought I had read it somewhere but it would be a good idea. That way you could have a drink (not wine) during the day or after dinner at a slight discount as you have already bought the wine component.
  14. A question re Cunard Wine packages....... If you buy the 6 bottle or 12 bottle wine package......do you receive 20% off other drinks at the bar as per if you have the full beverage package for drinks over the $13.50(?) limit? Can't decide whether to purchase a Beverage Package so as not to have to worry about end of cruise bill surprises. We do like our wine but as we are in Queens Grill we will also have our MiniBar so at US$70 a day for the package it could be overkill. Thanks in advance. 🙂
  15. As an owner of a small hotel, we guarantee that the best price any of our Guests can book a stay is directly. It makes no sense to me that when the TA receives a commission on bookings/sales how it can EVER be cheaper to not book direct with a business like a cruise line, hotel, car rental etc etc.
  16. It's not that big a deal you are correct but it was part of what we were sold on to Cruise with Cunard....the traditions, the dressing up, afternoon tea, old world etc etc. As someone who researches and reads T&Cs for fun, when things start changing before we have even boarded, I get nervous. 🙂 Certainly not looking for a Halloween experience but loved the idea of a sea of elegant formal red & gold or black & white or masks or flapper dresses as an experience.......just for one night. 😞 Regardless, as you say, it will be a sea of beautifully dressed people instead! 🙂 Let the countdown begin.......
  17. Can I ask where on deck 3 & 10 are the smoking areas? Is it the same for QE as QV? Thanks.
  18. As totally non-refundable, will go in with as open a mind as possible, 🙂
  19. Always want to book direct with a business where possible to save 3rd party commissions but would seem not relevant with Cunard.
  20. Price promise. Enjoy the comfort and reassurance that you’ve booked your Cunard voyage at the best possible price. If you find a better price elsewhere within 24 hours of booking with us, we will match that price. Simply send us the quote for the exact same holiday, which you have booked with us, and we guarantee to match it. We want to assure you that you can book your Cunard holiday with trust and confidence, enabling you to revel in the excitement of your upcoming voyage.
  21. Unfortunately it is more than that. Reading about Champagne being subbed for sparkling. 1 bottle in mini bar, not two. Booked direct with Cunard and found a cheaper price on a 3rd party site but despite Cunard offering UK guests a Price Promise....not available to Aussies. Website not working/ not updated & links not working for Cunard and MyCunard. Just got a feeling in the pit of my stomach and so want it to be the cruise experience we have planned for and expect. 😞
  22. Not sure where they list "exceptions to the rule" but understand what you are saying. Cunard are more than happy to quote T&Cs for any inquiry but are happy to make "exceptions to the rule" wherever they see fit obviously. This does not bode well for our first Cunard experience. 😞
  23. How disappointing. On our first 5 night cruise on Cunard with certain expectations based on extensive researching and as per their own website: Gala Evenings follow one of four themes – either Black and White, Red and Gold, Masquerade or Roaring 20s. Very First World Problem I know but I am the sort of person that expects to get what is published by the company, regardless of situation, in this case Cunard. Makes me worry about what else won't be as "promised". Just call me "Nervous Nellie" based on previous bad experiences with Azamara & RCCL.
  24. Have just received a response from Facebook....... Thought all Gala Nights had a theme?
