Have a club balcony room on Escape, been struggling with plumbing and HVAC the entire cruise (along with housekeeeping). Yesterday it finally gave out. No hot water and intermittent AC.
Reports of the issues documented almost daily.
The only resolution offered by the ship is a $200 ship credit and the ability to shower and use an inside stateroom 4 floors above me (I feel like a college dorm student right now). I respect there may not be other staterooms to move to, but the credit amount in insulting based on what I’m paying per day. I’m definitely not happy.
Clearly something more should be offered to make it right but getting any leadership to speak with is nearly impossible. They offered a meeting tomorrow with a manager to discuss. Open to suggestions about what to ask for and how to actually get something comparable with the inconveniences we’ve experienced.
Ask for the General Manager. I'm not sure if Kivanc is still on board..He's a great General Manager. If not fully booked, ask for an upgrade. Let him know your an active Cruise Critic cruiser and their response is being documented. If they give you passes to the SPA, would help you out. Always ask for more than you expect...

I have mixed success with the land concierge. I always ask them to empty the fridge prior to embarkation. Only once in 5 Haven cruises was that done. But, as previously stated the butlers are amazing and have fulfilled our requests shortly after boarding. We also have few requests. I just learned from these boards that I could ask for continuous pitchers of water and/or juice. I never thought to do that previously.
We always ask for a pitcher of ice water, OJ.

If you recall, back on Post #45, The Bird raised the “issue” of strawberry-gate where the fruit were being cut in half before being dipped to hide the cuts.
The Bird wandered back to the pastry galley this morning and found that they were holding out on The Bird. A tray of whole berries were in the fridge. Watch the 11:00 pm news for updates.
As delivered on embarkation day…Just got off the JOY yesterday and our chocolate covered strawberries were whole in the Haven.

That stinks! I remember on my cruises, this bar (I think it's called Prime Meridian on other ships) has always been empty. I've always wondered why given it's location between Cagney's and whatever is opposite.
On Joy, A List was pretty tame when we were on too. Alas, it must be a rowdy bunch you have on board!
Love that bar. We used to have CC tastings at the bar..the best time.

Enjoying your reports, as always. I believe you said earlier in the week that GM Ricardo would be going home yesterday. Do you know who took his place?
Ricardo was filling in for Ron while on vacation. Ron supposed to be on ship for 5/19 cruise. Ron is short for his actual name..

Your videos have sound but no pic on my screen. Anyone else have that issue?

The National Musuem of Bermuda is mobility scooter friendly.
Most buildings within the Fort are mobility scooter accessible except for the High Cave which has steps to two rooms under the ground.
Lower level Keep Yard is a flat surface to Queen Exhibition Hall and Dolphin Quest and a Bost Loft (lower level accessible only). To access the Commissioner's House, he may enter through the defense exhibit on the lower level and take the elevator up to the 2nd & 3rd floors.

Am I correct that they still are not taking reservations for the comedy shows?

Big difference in crowd size from Haven to non-Haven areas. One gets spoiled very easy.

The Q is a great place to hang at night to get away from the crowds.

Most passengers have not had a problem, but no cars are parked at Pier 92. Deckwork is being done there. I had a reservation, but two cars behind me had no reservation. . . I arrived around Noon. . .

Checked construction going on at pier so just reserved a spot so no surprises. Thanks for heads up. Always a wealth of info on CruiseCritic..

How was the parking situation? Did you park at the pier? I'm considering driving in for our cruise next month, but don't want to get there and not be able to get parking.
Thanks!
Enjoy!
We've never had an issue parking at the pier without reservation.

We put colorful duck tape on our luggage for recognition.
Since there is no luggage verification system at pier when leaving, luggage has walked off and obviously not by its owner and not by mistake.

Need to have Military ID form filled out under NCL website before booking. Once that's done your account will show Military for future bookings. It's good for Veteran and spouse bookings.

Last I read they are waiting for results of tests and did not have a confirmation of anything yet.

Can anyone comment on the logistics of using the CruiseFirst certificate if booking through a travel agent? Do you still pay a deposit at the time of booking with the travel agent? Then once the cruise is linked to your Lattitudes account, can you apply the certificate and the cerifiticate amount is then deducted from the final payment balance? Does this sound correct? I have tried contacting NCL and two different travel agents and nobody seems to have a confident answer.
We book through TA all the time. TA can see how many certificates we have available and applies to our booking immediately. TA also makes sure military discount is applied

Good afternoon,
How can I make specialty dining reservations without knowing what nights shows are?
We're sailing on the Bliss 2/18-2/25 - I want to make dining reservations to eat before Six and Jersey Boys, as we plan to attend the late shows.
Does anyone know how to know what nights the shows will be so we can plan accordingly?
Thank you!
If concerned about show, book early dinner and tell waiter your going to a show and waiter will accommodate you.

I was educated on cruising through Cruise Critic and continue to do so. Arranged or attended many M&G and additional activies for cruise critic groups. Just getting back into cruising and discovered many use F-B which I dislike for many reasons. IMHO It seems particpants on F-B hop on for fast answers and do no research on their own. Cruise Critic gives a wealth of info ..if one researches. Roll calls on Cruise Critic I found are much more enjoyable. Whole different generation of cruisers now..

Considering a Penthouse Suite on Deck 14. I've not read or seen much on these cabins. Can anyone enlighten me as to pros and cons of these suites? I understand they are not part of Haven but they look pretty nice for the price. Has anyone heard noise in this area being 2 decks down from the buffet, or any other negative things that might be a detriment to reserving one of these suites? Any real pros? TIA
Haven Penthouse on 14 is great!! Cabin was near elevator so we just had to jump on elevator to get in Haven facilities. Cabin is bigger than basic Haven cabin in the proper. Butler was great..took care of all our needs.
Escape: No Hot Water or AC. Minimal Resolution. How To Get Support?

It sucks to be on a cruise with children, not have hot water/ac not working well and paid premium. I hope Kivanc and you can get this rectified immediately.
We were on the Jade and toilets stopped working on a dozen cabins. Took a full day to rectify it. My hubby told them if it wasn't fixed before we went to bed, he was knocking on officers cabin to use his toilet!!..lol
