  1. Painter's tape might be more suited to some of the uses listed here; it doesn't leave a sticky residue behind, which might be considered "damage" and be charged to your account. Just saying. :)

    .

So true about the sticky residue. Excellent idea about the painters tape (I use it all the time at home).

I've always taken a small roll of duct tape and have only needed it once. After losing a contact lens , the next day my glasses broke :mad:. Having to wear thick glasses with duct tape almost ruined my cruise but I chose not to let it. Very memoriable though :p.

  2. I'm much more active on a cruise, plus the heat takes away my appetite. I do tend to eat and drink alot more.

BTW: "Loose" as in loose change; "lose" as in don't lose your change. So it's "lose" weight, not loose. Sorry, pet peave. And I know we're not supposed to make corrections. My bad.

  3. Did it once from Seattle to Florida, due to necessity. I'm not a good sleeper so I was extremely tired the first day of the cruise - missed the welcome show that first night. But since we were on a back-to-back and the shows are all repeats, we got to do it the next week. It did take a couple days to get reoriented to both the time change and the lack of sleep. Typical. I'd do it again if necessary. Just be prepared to be tired your first couple of days.

  4. The secret is to meet somebody on a cruise and marry them. Although it "may" be too late for you now ;), I met my husband on a cruise so no excuse for either of us. He likes it better than I do though.

We bought a fancy RV last year so now all of our vacations are spent glamour camping. With the dog.

    Some day we'll cruise again...

  5. If your "sea hair" has just a bit more waves in it, fine. But if it's frizzy, ugh. My life on the sea!

I was using It's a Ten plus Keriten shampoo and conditioner from May through August. It really does tame your hair and un-do the frizz. However, it also removes most of the volume (it did with me anyway). I ended up with pretty limp hair - the body was gone.

I stopped using it because I only have wavy hair, not curly hair. I now use L'Oreal Absolute Repair shampoo and conditioner the 3 times a week that I wash my hair. I also stopped blowing it dry and just let the waves loose. Love it! Who knew after blow drying my hair straight all these years (which was causing the dryness and frizz) that I'd like it natural. My hair is so healthy now.

  6. Besides over the years of cruising, doing all the zip-lining, snorkeling (I'm scared of deep water), speedboating, etc., I have to say that my Empress cruise was really out of my comfort zone - and it literally changed my life because I was so brave.

2006 Empress cruise (7 months after having both knees replaced):

    • Jumped on the stage during Karaoke to join a complete stranger singing (I cannot carry a tune to save my life) - twice
    • Judged the Sexy Mens Legs contest
    • Got my face painted
    • I'm sure there's alot more but can't think of it right now, lol

And because I was having so much fun and was feeling so confident, I met a guy on the ship from the other side of the country, fell in love, and married him.

    Life changing...

  7. Although I'm not one to wear dresses and high heals (I wear to work nice slacks, nice blouses, and those oh so ugly orthotic shoes), I will not wear baggy sweatpants, barely matching sweatshirt, and slippers to the grocery store - I saw that last week and just gasped. I was thinking, really? Do you think you're invisible? What if you run into somebody you knew from high school? It happens...

  8. Brilliant, Elyce! Bill seems to have a big enough fan base that even the low judges scores don't seem to matter.

Lois, I wasn't able to see your photo of Rock Hudson but I'm old enough to remember him (but young enough to not have been a fan. The Beatles and Monkeys were more my thing, lol). Maks at the judges table was the most boring I've ever seen him.

As I keep saying, the best dancer doesn't always win. In this case, perhaps we don't even want the best dancer to win (Corbin) because he's too experienced. I really like the idea of getting non-dancer "stars" and turning them into dancers. I thought that's what the show's premise was supposed to be.

Well, we'll know by next week. And then this so-so season will be over and we can look forward to 2014.

  9. Remember that the Spirit is a unique ship for NCL. They bought it from China, where it was used as a cruise ship there. It was built by China, with small people in mind. Therefore, the rooms are a little smaller, especially the bathrooms. The toilet has its own tiny tiny room. But I'm talking about the regular rooms, not a suite, so perhaps that will be larger.

I had a great time, loved Henry's Pub for beer and yummy snacks, didn't mind the food, always found fun things to do.

  10. WOW, just WOW. Shocked that Elizabeth went home - I figured she and Corbin would be in the top 2 - and when Corbin mentioned that he'd danced on Broadway, I just gasped. Wow - so not fair.

Anyway, Amber's first dress had the fringe so long that it was hard to see her feet during her quick step. Maybe it was designed that way, lol.

I liked Brooke's dress but it took me a minute of studying it to see that the top was sheer and no, those black straps were top glued to her shoulder .

It's such a dumb season...let's just enjoy the dresses and drama (during rehearsals) and know that it's not a fair season. Oh well.

  11. Love it, it'll be perfect for a beach ceremony. Just want to add - check to see if it's see-through.

I got married on a beach in Jamaica and didn't bother checking. You should see my wedding pictures, ooh la la! Wish I'd worn sexier panties because they were quite visible when the sun shined on the dress. :o

  12. What did everybody think of Brooke's gold dress last night? I just Googled the show results and saw a glimps of Brooke in a gold dress. I'll watch the show tonight.

Not happy about who was sent home. There are at least three others who should have gone before him (in my opinion).

I'm trying to care about the show this year, it's just so difficult. But I still watch. Afterall, it's just entertainment.

  13. Yes I agree, which is why I can't completely get on the Corbin band wagon. Even though he's the best dancer, he has too much of an advantage. That happens alot on this show. Nicole Schwar...., Derik's partner one year, had a huge advantage and won. It's really fun to see a non-dancer succeed and win, as long as they dance the best. The year Mario Lopez was on, even though he was the best dancer, he came in second to a much more charming football player who wasn't the best dancer. Again, I dunno. Do you go by talent or charm?
