. We were staying at Cambria Hotel Riverfront on Ripley Dr. I got a king room for $129/night by booking through our Corporate Concur site at work. ..

We are looking for a hotel to stay in the night after our cruise in February and the rooms are $280 through Hotels.com (I checked with Concur as well and they have it for $330)

    You got a good deal!

If your ship has an Alchemy bar, recommend stopping there for your first Old-Fashioned. They have a Rum Old Fashioned on the menu, but will happily make you a classic bourbon one with Woodford. And they make them very, very well at Alchemy!

Ask for it "smoked" - on our last cruise, my evening cocktail became a smoked coffee bourbon Manhattan at the Alchemy Bar

  3. I would suggest calling to confirm your rental. We had reserved a jeep rental through DIY Jeep Tours. When this post first appeared, I was able to call and confirm my  Jeep rental. I was told the same entity owns "DIY Jeep Tours" and the local Avis franchise. When I arrived in Skagway on 7/30, a Jeep Gladiator was waiting for us. They had a number of 2 and 4 door Wranglers as well as 4 door Gladiators. The same people handle the Avis rentals and there were many SUVs. Along with the self guided binder, there was a flash drive providing narration along the way. We were also provided a coupon for lunch at a restaurant in Carcross. I highly recommend them and the views along the way were breathtaking.

I got a text from DIY Jeeps saying they had to upgrade us to an SUV.  I looked at Affordable car rental but couldn't figure out how to book for a specific date.  I added it to my cart but I'm not going to pay for it if I can't tell if they have any available.

I tried calling Affordable Car Rental and did not get a reply so I emailed with the date rental needed. He replied that he was sold out for the day but put me on a waiting list.

    Does that say Taco Lager?

    🚨New On-Tap / Special Menu!!🚨
    //🌮Taco Lager A Mexican Style Lager 🍺/ 5.5%//
Pull out your beach chair, lather up in sunscreen then sit back and relax, while you enjoy this crisp clean lager! We brewed this beer for our good friends @deckhanddavesfishtacos, so you can have the best of both worlds, mouthwatering fish tacos and a light refreshing cold lager!
    .
We’ve also crafted up a special pizza taco themed menu that pairs well with the Taco Lager

We sail on the Sunshine at the end of this month and I logged in last night and there was a tab for an upgrade offer.

Been sailing many times and never saw one of these upgrade tabs on any of my bookings. Is this a new way of offering upgrades or have they been doing this for years and I just never received an offer?

We went from deck 2 OV to a spa balcony for only $190 more bucks!

I have a tab but when I click on it, the new screen says the offer expired. Has been like that for a week or so. I guess I missed it when it first posted. I wish they could remove it because, of course, I now keep clicking it hoping for a different outcome. I guess I am fulfilling Einstein's definition of insanity.

The advantage is that you get them in your email in a matter of minutes instead of having to wait for them to be delivered.

Yes, I broke down and signed up for AARP.

I loved the ease of an e-card. It was delivered and I applied to my booking within minutes.

  8. I feel bad for the OP and her experience. I am not a seasoned cruiser, only being on a 1/2 dozen cruises. I guess I still have the sun in my face and drink in my hand attitude where I probably would not have noticed most of her concerns. The smell however yes - that would have been concerning regardless if I had hit my daily drink limit or not. I did not know about the dried trap but it makes sense and it is a simple solution. With ships now opening up from the limited capacity, is it possible this cabin was not occupied on the prior sailing, or even the one before thus the lack of use led to to the dried up trap? With the rush to turn over a ship from one sailing to the next, did the cabin steward not put much attention to this unused cabin? Possible but I can't criticize them on their effort.

  9. This is being discussed in another thread. Excursions should populate soon. See John Heald's FB post earlier today...

"Good morning, I want to just quickly give you a few words about our incredible Alaskan season that is coming soon.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to work out details on our summer cruises to Alaska. With the modifications to protocols the CDC announced last week, we are hopeful of getting more clarity specific to Alaska very soon. The issue at the moment is still about resolving Canadian government requirements. If that cannot be worked out promptly, the industry will seek to have government regulations suspended like what took place last year, and our itineraries will bypass Canada altogether.
As a reminder, children under 5 years of age do not require a vaccine or an exemption to the vaccine requirements. Requests for exemptions for other guests will continue to be processed, but we must remind you that there is no guarantee that we can accommodate all vaccine exemption requests and continue to encourage guests to be fully vaccinated.
We are also working very hard to prepare all of the Alaskan excursions so once the information is all set you will see some brilliant and quite extraordinary Alaskan excursions on our website and I will be highlighting a lot of them here.
So again, thank you for your patience and I really do look forward to cruising in Alaska myself on May 24 and I hope to see some of you there."

2.) Can you remove the balcony divider that separates 2 adjoining balcony cabins yourself or is there a process to have it removed my someone else?

Not all balcony dividers open to the adjacent balcony. Some open to the balcony to the right or to the left but not both sides. That is something that should be confirmed prior.  If it does open, your cabin steward can do this for you.
