  1. Do we have to make reservations for this brunch or are we assigned to a sea day?
  2. Thanks so much for a quick reply.
  3. Thank you so much for your quick reply. Cruisers are such helpful people!
  4. I have not cruised since 2019 due to Covid and several surgeries. In 2019 I had a knee replacement and this year I have had both hips replaced and am now booked on the Venezia in December 2023. I cannot wait to get back to cruising. Does anyone have any experience with x-ray machines and knee and hip replacements? I was not given any ID cards that explain what type of replacement parts I have.
  5. I def agree. The length of the cruise makes a huge difference. The shorter the cruise, the rowdier the guests. In all 11 cruises we have taken on Carnival, all 7+ days we have seen one really drunk guy who pretended he was fighting. The rest of the cruises were with very pleasant people.
  6. We had a guarantee balcony once. We got Lido deck, first cabin through the double doors right behind the IMAX. I was really worried when I saw it, but once we went through the double doors there were no sounds from the the screen at all. It wound up being a great cruise bc we were so close to the food and pools.
  7. I heard the Seafood Shack on Carnival Venezia was serving free Chinese food at lunch. Anyone else have info on that.
  8. I asked my question on JH's Facebook page
  9. My husband and I had $1800 in credit from a cruise from hell on the Sunshine in 2019. We booked a cruise in Dec on the Venezia. Do we get VIFP points for the new cruise so we could become Platinum on this cruise or are there no added points due to this being a gratis credit cruise?
  10. We just booked Carnival Venezia for Dec 2023 for Carnival credit. We had credit from 2019 Sunshine cruise to Bermuda which was a disaster going into a hurricane on the way to Bermuda from NYC. They extended the credit due to Covid. Got an ext Terrezza aft cabin for just taxes, port charges and gratuities. It should be great!
  11. I just read that a person on the TA Venezia cruise in an ext aft cabin asked the room steward for a lounge chair for her deep balcony. She currently had 2 chairs and a table. The steward said there were no more lounges available on the ship. I have always had a lounge chair in all my ext aft balconies. Any suggestions on how to get the lounge chair? I sent John Heald a request. I don't sail till Dec 2023 and I love my lounge chair on the ship's wake.
  12. We booked the 12/10 cruise to the Bahamas. Have not cruised on Carnival since 2019 due to Covid and getting older issues. We were on the Sunshine when she skirted a hurricane going to Bermuda in 2019. That was a hairy scary bumpy cruise. Carnival gave future total cruise credit to everyone on that cruise. It was supposed to be used by 3/2021 but along came Covid. So I called my great PVP and she got our total cruise credit extended for the 12/10/2023 cruise out of NYC. Our total 8 day cruise in a terezza aft balcony is costing just under $400 for both of us. We are super excited! The research bug has hit us and we are making excursion plans now. Very excited for this upcoming cruise!
  13. Carnival gave everyone their fares back in cruise credits after a terrible cruise in 2019 to Bermuda that had us rocking and rolling for over 8 hrs due to a nearby hurricane. Credit was supposed to be used by 3/2021, then came Covid and then I had double hip replacements. So recently called our great PVP on Carnival and she asked the department in charge of the cruise credits and the next day they granted us the full cruise credits for use on a December cruise to the Bahamas out of NYC on the Costa ship that will be the Italian experience by Carnival, cruising out of NYC exclusively. We booked a Terezza aft balcony and we are very excited to be on this "new" ship during the Christmas season.
  14. We have had 6 aft balconies over the years and no soot ever.
  15. We were on the Splendor going to the Mexican riviera in 2009 out of Long Beach, CA. We headed to Mexico and the WHO declared a Swine Flu emergency. Carnival cancelled all ports in Mexico following the WHO warning. We had to go to Mexico to drop off an injured person and fulfill The Jones Act requirement. People were very upset there would be no ports and there were reports of people getting upset at the main desk. I think Carnival was serving free drinks at dinner and we recouped the port charges. I didn't witness unruly people but I think it made the nightly news. We returned to Long Beach as some people wanted to get off and end their cruise. We went on to San Francisco and docked in a very dilapidated area. It was pouring rain and we stayed there over night. I was ok bc the cruise contract doesn't guarantee ports. I just enjoyed the cruise and disembarked in Long Beach on the original cruise end date. That was my only experience with unhappy rowdy cruisers on my 9 Carnival cruises. It was understandable but Carnival was following their safety protocols.
  16. I have stayed in many aft balconies and have booked one on the 8th floor for my upcoming Venezia cruise out of NYC. My only worry would be some of the side aft balconies on the older ships might be missing the sofa as the cabin is def smaller than the middle aft balconies. That happened to us once so I make sure we have the sofa and coffee table in our aft. We will be sailing in the Terrezza aft balcony on the Venezia and we see if we feel special in the private neighborhood of the Venezia. I love the privacy, the sound of the wake, the amazing views and the loungers that are better than the chairs on the balcony. Have a great trip!
  17. We were on the Sunshine, 9/16/2019. Due to extremely rough seas and a hurricane heading to Bermuda, we were not able to visit Bermuda. As compensation we received total cruise fare credit for a future cruise to be used by 3/2021. Due to Covid and my having two major surgeries in the last year, I inquired about using the future cruise credit on the Venezia, sailing 12/10/2023 out of NYC. I called my vacation Planner at Carnival and I was granted the full cruise fare credit for my upcoming cruise on the Venezia. I was able to get a Terrezza extended aft cabin in exchange for the cruise credit, no out of pocket money except for port charges and taxes. I am a very satisfied Carnival cruiser!
