We just signed up for an Alaska Cruise on the Celebrity Summit. The cabin is 7155 on the Port side of the ship. What is a Prime Veranda? We wanted a midship room, but not Aqua Class or Concierge cabin. Thanks for the information.

Prime just refers to the location on the ship. It is still a regular veranda cabin in the more desirable location.

During the current flash sale the 2-device Premium Wi-Fi Package is 40% off. Two questions. (1) can only one person in the cabin order the package or do both people need to order the package? (2) If one person in the cabin can order the 2-device Premium Wi-Fi package, can we connect our two phones to that one plan? Both of us want wi-fi by connecting our phones.

Only one needs to purchase.  You can connect any two devices at one time.

I am of the opinion that your public space decorations should be left at home. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Your "dress up" is another's "tacky".

I haven’t yet travelled on a Solstice class ship.  Do the lack of aft elevators lead to very long walks for those in the back of the ship?

The only time the walk is longer for the aft cabins is going to the Sunset Bar. The trip to Oceanview is just marginally further.

less choice and  def more cruisers for each set of elevs when they eliminated the third set of elevs....esp at peak times!

It was a big topic years ago...

But the total number of elevators is still 12 with the midship being 8 cars rather than 4 as in the M class.

My guess would be they meant the Golden Palace.  I personally don't think it's amazing but many people do.  Every year they do a sale on eggrolls and people line up for hours to get them.

I agree. To us they just didn't live up to the hype.

I am a little confused how you went from the November cruise to the October cruise.  I was told I would loose my entire deposit if I didn't go on the cruise I originally had booked.  Personally, I thought I would just lose $200 by moving to another cruise but my TA said I'd lose the entire deposit?  I had $1000 deposit on a suite and this is what I was told.

TA rules may well be different than Celebrity's.

I’m a non-drinker but my husband will drink alcohol. I’ve tried with Celebrity to be able to have different packages with no luck unless I have a medical reason.  I just can’t justify $2k Canadian for the privilege of not paying per drink. I’d like to bring on bottled water or pop.  Is there any policy preventing us bringing our own water or soda when we board or from the various ports?  I’m aware of the two bottles of wine per person.

I believe that it is back to one bottle of wine per person, max two per cabin.

Deluxe Porthole Veranda. Unlike Infinite Verandas, there is an outdoor space, smaller than a traditional balcony, with a large porthole.

Thanks. I know what and where they are, but the acronym escaped me. I sometimes wish people would write things out in full at least the first time in a post for those of us that aren't aware of all the short forms..

For us personal preference. We like a traditionally type balcony. Booked our first DPV for the Apex in 2022 for our 2023 Caribbean Apex cruise without considering booking an IV. We've got another DPV booked for our September Alaska Edge cruise.

Sorry, not being familiar with all the acronyms, what is a DPV?

    Hi:

We are on the May 18 sailing of the Celebrity Beyond out of Fort Lauderdale for the ABC cruise. We’ve purchased three specialty dining meals but when going to reserve them on the App (and website) every single specialty restaurant on that sailing shows no availability. We’ve been checking this for several days.

Our assumption is, they must hold back some of the reservations to be handled on board. Does anyone know if this is true?

Additionally, if that is true, when and where when boarding do you go immediately to secure the reservations that you want for places like Rooftop and Eden?

You will have to do this on board. Unlike a single dining purchase multi night dining packages can't be reserved ahead of time.

I hope not.  We have a 10:30 boarding time, ...

What you have is a 10:30 check-in time, not boarding. You will check in and then go to the assigned waiting area to wait. Boarding may not even start before 11:00. It's all dependant on clearing the ship from the previous cruise. Once boarding has begun the process is a little quicker.

    Hello all,

We have anytime dining but have a question, if we dine at a particular restaurant around 7:45pm and we find we love the waiter if we ask to have the same waiter each evening at the same time do they accommodate?

Usually, but you may have a short wait or get a different table in their section.
