That's exactly what I did but they still found a way to charge my card realized their error and reversed it at the return rate. Its the fault of the guest relations agent as he should have removed the hold and forgot at least this is what I assume happened

They don't control those rates. That is all on your financial institution. From Celebrity's side they do all transactions in USD, whether charge or refund, and any discrepancy is caused by the exchange rates set by your bank. That said, because the charge was in error, I think Celebrity should be responsible to pay the difference.

I know there was a website upgrade recently, but this is the first time when I checked out a cruise, got into reservations , the featured/listing price that attracted us, was actually the Cruise Only pricing.   The so called All Inclusive was over $800 more pp.    It used to be on Canadian site, the price you saw first was the All inclusive.    Rather feels like bait n switch.

I have seen the price as the cruise only as the default for a long time on the Canadian site.

  3. Your OBC is added to your folio at the beginning of the cruise and your gratuities will be deducted from your account daily. Your credits are not there for any specific use, it is only a $ value credit on your account. All purchases and daily gratuities are added to your account as you spend on board. If you run out of OBC it just adds to your account to be paid at the end of the cruise.

  4. The pricing structure isn't always in your favour for a sale. Of my 3 booked cruises only one went lower. The other two were up considerably. and all 3 were booked at the same time.

You can adjust whether refundable or not. I just did it just two days ago when the price for mine dropped.

I'm not sure why everyone takes such satisfaction in pointing to one rare occurrence and saying, "Toldja so!"

When asked if you can make an (insert time here) AM flight, so many say "sure, no problem". The point is that the majority of time it can work out, but the reality is there is always the chance of a weather, mechanical, port, etc related issue. This is why people point it out and caution doing so if you don't have a plan B.

Thinking about purchasing this package.  Have a couple of questions.  Is there a soda drink machine like on Royal Caribbean or do you have to get them at one of the bars?  Do you get a can or in a glass?  Does anyone know what  the price of a can of soda is if you just purchase one and do not have the beverage package?  Just trying to decide if it’s worth the price to purchase the package.

There is no drink machine. You get a can at any bar or in the OV Cafe. Not sure on pricing though.

We'd like to book ourselves on Celebrity Equinox - 9 day Southern Caribbean Cruise to the ABC islands leaving March 23rd.    I'm looking at the balcony cabins.  I've been keeping an eye on the pricing and in just 4-5 days, I've seen it go as low just over a $1,000 (same price as an ocean view) to as high as $1700.  This is crazy, it's all over the place.   I'm wondering if the Black Friday deals coming up will be better deals or should I wait till Boxing Day?  Does anyone have any experience with when the deals should be better?

    Thanks for your help!

Their "sales" tend to be a shell game. You would be better off finding a fare you are comfortable with and booking now, as the stateroom choices will likely be better. If prices go down you can refare at the then current rates and perks if it works in your favour.

  8. When you book you get your guest invoice. On page 3 or 4 it is noted in bold that you must ensure you have proper documents for your cruise. Unless you booked last minute there are at least 3 months up to a couple of years to get organized. Blame does not fall on Celebrity. They gave ample warning.

Post #2 "Priority boarding went away with the introduction of assigned check-in times"

That was what we Gators call an unqualified statement...and I asked for claification!

The original question was referring to Elite and Elite+ not suites.

At Port Everglades and staff says that there is no Elite Embarkation Lounge. Elite and Elite+ are with general boarding. I’m not surprised, but curious how long that’s been in affect.  I don’t see it on the list of benefits anymore.  Our last Celebrity FLL cruise was March 22.

Priority boarding went away with the introduction of assigned check-in times. Except for the initial rush, you will just get there, check in and be on your way to the gangway.

Lets hope they also tried the great looking but god awful deserts at the buffet and something can finally get done about that.  How hard can it be to bake a cake and slap some frosting on it that actually has some flavor to it.

I made some comments about the desserts back in 2017 about the lack of taste and the lack of consistency between ships. Most notably a "chiffon" cake that was excellent on the Eclipse (light and airy) and horrendous on the Equinox (dense and flavourless). Corporate apologized profusely and added a small OBC to my next cruise.  I think a lot of it had to do with the use of prepackaged cake mixes vs made from scratch. Most of the cakes seem to use the same base with only the decorating differing, so they all taste the same.
