Chia seeds...? Haha!  Dream on.  This ship had nothing of anything.  They even had to give out plastic bottled crew water as they ran out of cans.  Half the spirits were missing, loads of wines missing, and couldn't even get a coke zero after two days.  Loads of breakfast items were missing.  If there is something specific like that which you need, I suggest you take some with you.

This is by far the worst ship in the fleet at the moment, especially with so few crew members.

Wow that is sad to see, I hope they up their game for our July sailing, didn't book All inc to have Nothing inc.....

This is our first Cruise on Celebrity after 25 on DCL.   My TA said the service/food/quality would all be what we expect or higher than DCL.  So far, this is a GIANT FAIL.  We are going to Alaska at no small cost to experience Alaska, not sit on a boat.   This barnacle issue is not news to them, yet they waited until the summer season had PIF before making the announcement when the first cruise was setting sail (those folks royally got screwed).    This is bait and switch and very poor business practices.  They are completely aware what it takes to maintain a cruise ship - it was a business decision not to keep the ship's hull clean.   Does anyone know if this situation can be remedied without a dry dock?

It says further up  ............ 10 hours ago, BigAl94 said:Very strange as she received a full hull repaint and anti foul in March 2021 which should keep her free of marine growth for 4/5 years.

MiniMark.........Most anti-foul processes anticipate a moving ship -- if the Eclipse has been sitting stationary for months, then the marine growth will overwhelm any anti-fouling paint / provisions applied.

We are going on 3rd July sailing but it is incorporated into a package with the Rocky Mountaineer and Calgary Stampede so very much doubt we can cancel the cruise bit......

    Who is the “someone.”
    what is the cruise itinerary

I can't remember who I read it somewhere.........

Vancouver, Inside Passage, Icy Strait Point, Hubbard Glacier, Juneau, Ketchikan, Inside Passage, Vancouver.

  4. I am sorry I am so confused, we are doing a cruise/train/stampede in Canada but also an Alaska cruise, The cruise is first.

I thought we would need an ESTA for Alaska but someone said just the eTA for Canada.

I'm inclined just to get the ESTA as well it's only $14 each, I have looked on .Gov links for USA and Canada but must be missing something.

    Thanks x

  5. we will be going to Juneau on Eclipse and I see the Mt Roberts tram tip is £26 each but the tram fare is £19 it seems close to the cruise terminal is this ok to do on your own or would the ship one have added value? New to this so unsure x

  6. We have done them and printed them. I am concerned my answers are incorrect as I found it confusing, We are going to the Canaries and it asks if you have or will visit the mainland of this country, I said no because I thought they meant Spain which I took to be the mainland, I did that for all the islands maybe I should have said yes...

For those that are bemoaning paying for AI because you don’t drink anything but tap water, don’t ever get on the internet (well, except right this minute), sneak down and get your gratuites removed, only eat hamburgers at the grill, and call business profit ‘greed’, I just read a great article for you:

Cruise News Today reports Two non-profits are starting cruise lines!!

Goodwill will start cruising sometime in late 2021. You’ll bring your suitcases full of clothes on board and donate them, and then each day go to the ship thrift shop and buy discounted clothes from previous cruisers!

Salvation Army will start cruising in early 2022. The entertainment will be excellent bands playing ‘Nearer, My God to Thee’ over and over during North Atlantic crossings, serving good soup in lines on the Son Deck, and you’ll just love the theater presentations….all must attend.

So just give it a few months and the cruise prices will be much better!!

    Den

Wow, I would love a thrift shop on a cruise....................

  8. I must be strange, I love the idea of All included and always book it if we can.

We usually only do cruises this way and use Fred Olsen when they have their offers on of drinks and tips.

I like it that I am paying a price that I am happy with and can have a drink when I want one without worrying about the bill adding up and wondering who's round it is........I like all inc hotels as well..........

  9. I saw a good price for the Nov 22 cruise to Japan advertised on Facebook, and I nearly booked it, but we already have the NZ and OZ one on Eclipse booked for 2023 so I thought I would give the same guy a call as it would be easier to have them with the same company and he got us a better cabin for the same price as the lead in price advertised on Facebook so before you get tempted by these Facebook offers (and there are a lot of them) it might be worth it do a little investigation, I am very happy I did.....

    Who are you booking with?

Sorry I didn't think anyone would be interested .... The cruise is on Celebrity Eclipse leaving Sydney on 16th Feb 2023 it goes around New Zealand first then back to Sydney and up the East coast of Australia. We booked with Paramount cruises in the UK.

We will probably fly in a week or so early and spend some time in Brisbane as unfortunately that isn't one of the stops. The hotel stay in Sydney for 3 nights(4* central Sydney) is included in the price of our trip.
