All too often by the time it arrives, the hard ice cream has become the equivalent of soft serve. 😳
I have the opposite story. Not in a cruise ship scenario, but I have witnessed guys complaining that the ice cream was too cold.

In my own mind there’s the idea that certain times in our lives we need elegance and stature.
Here we have such a moment in time presenting itself in the form of formal dinners, be it on a Hawaiian cruise or a Caribbean adventure or anywhere in the world for that matter. It all comes down to the same thing. Do we act like the Mayberry folks or the Kardashian’s?
Having said that, I doubt Hawaiian formal wear is a tuxedo. The same with the other cultures of the world, so I suppose it depends on where you are or where you’re from that’ll dictate the nature of your attire.
Cultural, to me, is a tuxedo. To someone else it’s totally different.
When the men and the ladies are dressed formally, wow! It’s actually spectacular.

Gee. Where do I start?
There are something like 7 billion people in this world and the “Asians” don’t have all the real money that’s left and they’re not the reason cruise ships are empty floating around Southeast Asia, as you put it.
If a cruise ship isn’t sold out it’s on the Princess guru’s to figure out and not because the Asians don’t want to do anything.
I actually take offence to your comments and I’ll pass it off as incoherent babble.
FWIW I'm on an Asian cruise in 2020 and Princess caters heavily to, in this case, the Japanese. I found it interesting that they (Princess) put out this notice...

Yes the Asian's have all the real money that's left, here's the problem they don't do ANYTHING much less cruise with it. Princess pulled the plug on the Majestic, and last I heard she was doing runs around Australia and New Zealand.
The Asians they're back Asia somewhere doing nothing, very wealthy(big deal), but going nowhere, and doing nothing. Later Todd

Hmmm... the sense of entitlement is strong with this one!
The question has been answered the same way, several times.
Good luck with your venture. As far as your TA goes, they are there to answer your questions and this one should take him/her less than a second to answer it.
Enjoy your cruise wherever it may be!

Wonderful news!! Absolutely fantastic. 😀
Now, if they can just maintain the schedule. 🤞
I also agree. It is good news.
My weakness is I spend way to much time online to the point of being an addict.
I’m going to have to curb my enthusiasm and leave the gosh darn iPad turned off. Sooner or later we could just watch videos of cruise ships and stay home.

For what it’s worth, I have a “stick chair” (that’s actually the brand name or trade name) that I use occasionally when I’m in a line up and on a tour that requires a lot of walking.
It takes less than flattering photographs and the chair part of it isn’t the most comfortable but it does allow you to take weight off your legs/feet, and you also use it as a cane. It’s not big or cumbersome.

The marketing guru’s at Princess seem to have it down pat. I would be willing to bet that any ship, be it Australia or otherwise, sail with a full load of passengers. They know who and where to collect the money from.

Glenn, you are not butting in BUT remember the OP is taking a 7 day Western with friends so is considering remaining on the ship for the 7 day Eastern.
Right! I was sick the day they taught reading in school. My bad.

I’m using Safari as well and I haven’t had any problems.

Not to butt in here, but instead of a B2B cruise for 14 days, take a 14 day cruise from Fort Lauderdale. To me it seems counterproductive to return to Fort Lauderdale just to have to go out again. Plus, price wise, it’ll be beneficial.

I can’t give you any feedback as I have never sailed on the Diamond or any other ship for that matter. I just want to say that I’m booked on the Diamond for Dec. 2020.
I would be curious as to the comments as well but I wouldn’t put a lot of stock into the negativity of some. I would think princess will hold up their standards and give us stetrooms they’d be proud of. It is there business, after all.
I am confident with my booking choices.

Ok, I’ll bite! I’m dying to know your what your problem is so others, myself included, can chime in and solve your situation. At the very least, make you feel terrible so your dilemma doesn’t seem so bad.

I say that in jest, of course. The guys on this thread have been truly supportive so it wasn’t a fair assessment.

My opinion as a female: Buy a tux! Take it on every cruise!
An option: If you have time to do so before your cruise, start checking the resale and charity stores nearby. Husband has bought several that way, all for under $50, and all excellent brands and quality. Wool looks best and holds up best; he's never had a problem with wrinkles when unpacking. He's been taking tuxes on cruises for nearly 30 years now; the classic styles never look dated. (I assume you are not thinking of baby blue, with ruffled shirt.) Self-tie bowtie adds a special touch.
Thank you for your advice and information. I would probably lean more towards getting my tuxedo tailored because of my size. I take a size 56 to 60 jacket and I have a 50” waist (I say sheepishly). Those are very rare to come by so my odds aren’t great, however, it doesn’t stop me from looking.
Although I don’t have an unlimited budget, I don’t have to be frugal either. I just wanna look good! Lol
Plus... thank you for posting. It’s nice to have a female perspective. Sometimes I think guys would be happy with speedos and a tank top.
And no!!! No baby blue or ruffled shirts. Been there when I was making porn movies back in the 70’s (lie).

it USED to be a great price. Not anymore.
On my cruise personalizer a case (12) of bottled water (500 ml) is $8.97 cad. Sonunds pretty reasonable to me.

To edit this... sorry for the post. I didn’t read further along the thread before I responded. My bad!

If you want any suggestions on what else to bring, Ive got one for you. If your going to Alaska, chances are you’ll be indulging in Alaska King Crab. Take a couple pair of kitchen scissors with you. You’ll thank me later when you’re finished dinner and not bleeding.

I have NS American SFO to Miami & Air Canada NS Montreal to SFO. I was also unable to get my seat on Air Canada so I called them Saturday. They were very pleasant but told me that until they actually get the flight ticketed by Princess, I cannot get a seat. I can then choose my seat and the flight's wide open. Or I can wait until I get to the airport and pick my aisle seat then.
After what you just mentioned, I thought I would check my flights with KLM. Seats are assigned, all is good. Final payment is due at the end of July.

From my experiences here, I learned of the Chefs Table, and the Ultimate Ship Tour.
The Volcano, as mentioned by Sea Hag, is a try it for sure item. I really need to justify why I’m 320 lbs.
I learned that there are passionate people here and through that passion friendships can be made. At the same time, the opposite works for others.
All in all, the group of people that participate in the discussions are loyal to cause of cruising.

Here’s a scenario I haven’t thought of... the unused portion of a premium beverage package, if there is one, is charged out with a 15% gratuity. Where would that go? And to expand that thought, water, pop, milkshakes, etc. get charged out with a 15% gratuity. Same question.
Makes me go hmmm.

P.S. It’s Monday and I’m bored.
