  1. Same. We were to book at 11pm December 25 and I checked at 6am and voila! They were probably available to book even earlier than that. We booked all of our Manfredis reservations which we will keep, and we booked our Chefs Table reservations, but will wait to see what the menus are before we try to rearrange them once on board. Pre Covid they would post the Chefs Table menus for each day before booking. Doing that again would help.
  2. Our flight to San Juan for a Trans Atlantic cruise in March has been cancelled and our flight from Athens to Toronto at the end of a cruise in May has been cancelled. In both cases AT didn't notify us or our TA. I found this out on my own when I was looking to see how full the aircrafts were. For the Athens to Toronto flight, we were able to scramble to get on a flight from Athens that stops in Montreal (1 day later), changes aircraft, then onto to Toronto. For our flight to San Juan in March (March Break!!!) we are looking for a flight to FLL and then onto San Juan with JetBlue. Extra $$$ though.
  3. We have 3 cruises booked with Viking (4 if you include a B2B) and we weren’t getting the promos either. We recently signed up with a different email address and we are now getting the promos. Basically the Canadian ones are the same as the American ones.
  4. Best wishes to both you and L. I’m sure the 4 of us will meet again on another Viking Cruise. Keep in touch. JMO, if you can do it, clinical trials are the way to go. 👍
  5. @SJD117 article in WaPo today. I would link to it, but I have tried on a few occasions to reach out to you with info and my posts are denied. I hope you find it helpful.
  6. Thanks so much for this. We’re happy to see that they are adding excursions in Chioggia. The “Included” and then time on our own and the “Taste of Chioggia” are perfect. Looking forward to it. 😊
  7. Thanks for this and also your NYT link. Having spent a lot of time in Venice in the past, we hadn’t planned on visiting again no matter where the Sea docked. Our plan was to catch a train and go elsewhere. But Chioggia looks worthy of more research. Thanks again.
  8. You found it! Thanks so much for that. I knew it existed and was searching for that earlier.
  9. And take a look at Trip Advisor forums. That’s usually where we find well-recommended ground transportation. It has always worked out for us. Normally, you’ll get a nice little tour of things you didn’t get to see, with excellent local commentary, on the way to your destination.
  10. Good question! My guess is to Venice. Hopefully others will chime in.
  11. Which is exactly what we did, but in the end, we cancelled it because it was cheaper (and more fun!) to have a private driver. However, that might not be the case here.
  12. We are doing a B2B with Venice in the middle of that. We spent a lot of time in Venice a few years ago so we aren’t anxious to see it again. On this trip, we would like to see the outer islands, so now we’re scrambling to find a way to do that without the bus ride from Chioggia.
  13. Another possibility is to get on your roll call and arrange to share transportation.

  15. We received the same email today. The email states that if needed you can arrange for a Viking transfer from Venice to Chioggia. I believe this can be done through MVJ.
  16. If I have a 220v appliance, is it possible it won't work?
  17. Also, to Viking’s credit, we had totally forgotten about the thing until it showed up in our cabin neatly wrapped on the morning we were (sadly) leaving the ship.
  18. I agree with all you have said and as usual, thank you for your insight. According to the list, “curling irons” are acceptable. There are different kinds and types of curling irons. I have been in touch with Viking reps and tellus and have 6 different answers. So my question really is, has anyone had the experience of having the types of curling irons mentioned above being taken away at boarding. If that is the case, I would bring whatever is acceptable to Viking, but I can’t get a straight answer out of Viking, so I asked.the question here.
  19. That is indeed correct. We never would have expected to be able to use this on the ship.
  20. In fairness to CILCIANRQTS’ it’s possible that the poster doesn’t understand that a BaByliss Miracurl is a curling iron and that the Dyson Airwrap is also a curling device — albeit, not your normal curling iron. So my question is, has anyone had these items confiscated when boarding?
  21. Haha! Nope. You probably misunderstood my OP. 🙄
