  1. I’m following up post-cruise in case others have similar questions. The fitness staff had the schedule for the entire cruise posted the day of embarkation. I took a photo so I could refer to it and be strategic on which two classes I wanted to take. The afternoon classes were sparsely attended. One 5pm barre class was canceled because I was the only one who showed up and I felt weird being the only student. The 4pm Pilates class I attended had three people. The morning classes seemed better attended. I can’t imagine paying $30 plus an 18% tip for any of the classes if you don’t have a package, though.

  2. We just got back from our Alaska cruise with family (9 of us, ages 8-76). We rented a private whale watching tour with Harv and Marv and had an amazing time. Devin, our tour guide, was personable and informative and our captain, Dalton, moved the boat safely and considerately for both the passengers and the wildlife. I highly recommend them.

You’ll probably need to help her wash her one hand before going in the Windjammer and rubbing hand sanitizer into her hand at the dining room.

Oooh! I forgot about that. BF and I quickly worked out a system where I’d get the sanitizer on my hand and he’d rub it in and use it for his hands. The crew were quite lenient at the buffet; they could tell I was making an effort to comply with the hand washing protocol.

  4. I broke my wrist two weeks before my last cruise and had surgery (plate and 7 screws) 10 days before departure. My ortho’s biggest concern about hot tubs was the risk of infection so I avoided them. Of course I had to cancel my snorkeling excursion because I didn’t think I could haul myself out of the water and on to the boat with one hand. What surprised me the most was the amount of fatigue I felt. All I wanted to do was sit in a lounge chair and relax, which is not me at all. Be prepared to be flexible with your plans, and best of luck to your wife with her recovery.

The exception was our last cruise we ate at Coastal Kitchen every night and they rotated the waiters so we had different ones each night, four different waiters during the week. I was at a loss what to do, not accustomed to tipping each night and I didn't know they rotated until the second night. Ended up with just auto-gratuities instead of trying to track down each waiter on the last night. I suppose MTD would be similar, no assurance of having the same staff every night.

One option is to leave the tips in envelopes at guest services.

Perhaps, but they still like to advertise that it's a formal cruise line so to entice the unknowing into thinking it's "exclusive".

The ads make me laugh. There was one in the Platinum/Elite/Suite lounge showing three forty-somethings having a grand time. That was so far from the truth of what the lounge looked like!

The pictures of the lovely couples on deck are a stitch too, as no one has a hair out of place. The minute I go on deck my hair becomes a wreck.

I just heard a comment from someone sailing on the Regal that there were no drinks being served in the show lounge as they didn't want people removing their masks in order to have a sip. 😵

Are things the same on the Enchanted? Can you carry your own drink from a bar?

Sip and cover was requested in the Princess Theater and one of the other show venues. I didn’t notice if the theater has a bar. The other venue did.

Was the mask requirement strictly enforced ?  I was so looking forward to our 10 day March cruise on a brand new ship to our fav Southern Caribbean itinerary!  We’ve been on 2 wonderful Celebrity cruises post pandemic-No masks for fully vaccinated guests. We are triple vaccinated. My DH hates wearing masks.  We love to dance- so mask wearing in the Piazza  and other dance venues will probably be a deal breaker. 🥲 Thanks for your inout. I love cruising!

Strictly enforced in the buffet area. Can’t speak for other areas as that’s the only place I forgot mine.

I suggest trying a different line. Almost everyone is wearing masks, and “sip and cover” is requested in certain venues.
