Just my opinion but I think it is crazy to spend $1500 for AQ

We always have late traditional dining. It seems like there are more and more empty tables every year for this option, I would guess about 30% of all the chairs are never used on X and RCCL

I think you'll find that FKGirl means that there is no corkage fee when the wine is consumed in your room, not that you aren't allowed to consume the wine in your room.
I think you're right. Thanks
-
No problem
-
It is actually 2 bottles per room, and you are charged corkage if you bring to a dining venue. Not for room consumption.
Where does it say "not for room consumption "?

Sorry to disagree. We went to Shipwreck last Feb, got out of our cab and looked around. The place was a mess; I the cabbie suggested that we let him drive us down the beach to Carabola, which better represented the beauty of his island. We did and had a great time, beautiful location and good bar and restaurant. BTW, the pictures above are not very appealing for a day at the beach

I don't understand discussing shootings in cruise ports at all?
IF tourists discussed every shooting in the USA they probably wouldn't visit any city there at all!
What would you rather discuss, the dress code in the MDR. I think it is pretty important for everyone to understand the potential dangers they could encounter.

Check Tripadvisor for restaurant reviews, great source of info

To use OBC you must book onboard. If you do it upon boarding, probably not an issue to get your daye

Where do you find the "more offers" area? Thanks in advance

Most beaches have nice restaurants, bars, etc. I would do it on my own, it's easy, cheaper, and there are some real nice beaches in Antigua

Good questions, I would also be interested. Hope to hear from someone who has been there

Seems to me that Celebrity seems to be sourcing more and more food from Sysco type companies. The food quality has gone down and down over the past few years. X seems more concerned about building fancier ships with more extra pay venues then maintaining a high quality product. Service is worse, food quality is worse, live quality acts are disappearing and being replaced with canned music and DJs. All very sad.

Sysco is not the problem, they provide the quality level that is requested. I do agree that the quality is less than in the past, I even think the specialty restaurants have cut quality.

A 2 person private tour is probably great. We did the 2 day Alla tour and had a great time - about 6 of us. Don't go on ship tours, they use big busses and you waste a lot of time

Does your mom want to fly to PR, some think it is a hassle and can be a little more expensive. If not an issue, sailing from SJ is great and so is the Adventure. Just took that cruise 2 yrs ago. Have fun

Sorry for incomplete post. I would use the $1200 to early in the specialty restaurants. Much better food than Blu and you'll save money
-
You can eat a lot better in the specialty

You don't need a bungee

If you cannot sort pre cruise, go and see the M'D straight after boarding outside the MDR. He will have a queue of people wanting to swap back and forwards.
I would not see this situation as a deal breaker, lots of chances to swap, and even if you can't you can still prebook your dining time each night and request the same waiters.
Agree, going to the M'D upon boarding has always solved any dining issues we may have had. Surely no reason to cancel a cruise.

After reading these posts' date=' I'm nervous about making our 12:20pm flight from FLL on a Saturday from Infinity Panama Canal sailing![/quote']
You will have no problem. You can easily get to fll by 9:30 if you try. This is Cruise Critic, don't believe everything you read.

Been to Kakao the last 2 years. Nice chairs, great food. btw, any construction updates?
-
We always take cash for all our island purchases never had an issue
-
Doubt many have been to both for true comparison. We have not but enjoyed VC on 2 occasions. Most beaches in Antigua are nice and offer a similar experience as long as there is a bar and restaurant.

February is s great time to cruise. We have cruised many times on Royal and a few times on X I disagree about X ships being a step above Royal, you are getting this because you are on a Celebrity board. Both lines are very nice, X is a little more subdued, Royal a little more fun but the differences are minor. Food is the same, entertainment better on Royal, and X has nicer deck chairs. We find X a little more relaxing. Both lines are near capacity in Feb on our last 10 cruises but both handle crowds well
How to determine good price
in Alaska

I would price out other cruise lines to compare. The ship is not very important in Alaska, it's about sightseeing and touring so HAL, Princess, or RCCL are also great.
