  1. Talked to my TA today; said he could knock off 10%. That's 10% from Avalon, 5% for being a past guest, and 10% from the TA. Think that's the way we'll go for 2016 plus book 4-5 days in Paris on our own.

  2. We have been on one river cruise, the Danube on Avalon, and enjoyed it greatly. We are now looking to book Paris to Normandy. After talking to cruisers on other lines, we realize that the major cruise lines all provide a very similar product. My question is this - are prices on Avalon, AMA, Viking, etc. all close or are some getting a premium? We are familiar with ocean cruising where prices can widely vary.

    Thanks in advance

  3. Hi everyone,

We are experienced cruisers but this is our first time to Alaska and first time on HAL. We are doing the August 26, 2015 land and cruise tour into the Yukon for 15 days - land first.

Our question involves staying 1 night pre-cruise in Anchorage since we can't get there from the East coast until late in the evening. Since the HAL Westmark hotel is $300/night, our plan is to stay near the Anchorage airport the night of 8/25 and take a cab on 8/26 to the Westmark to start the land portion of the cruise. This would give us some time to rest up before starting the busy land tour

Any comments or advice on this plan would be greatly appreciated,

    Bob

  4. Been searching the boards but can't an answer. If I book a standard balcony room for a 14 night Caribbean cruise onboard my upcoming February cruise, do I get an OBC in addition to the 123go promotion? and how much is the OBC?

    Thanks

  5. This becomes especially annoying when you have made reservations online and already paid for the dinner you are waiting on line to have!!

It was every performance, actually we were never even able to get in to see Starwater.

I know what there planned solution is, I am like a mind reader. Charge $50 a seat to limit traffic as a favor to us. That's how brewed charged coffee bars were originally introduced. Extra pay restaurants, paid ice cream, automatic tips on account, prepaid gratuities, etc all started the same way, as a SERVICE for us. They are doing YOU a favor. Now they have it down to fresh orange juice $4.

Now the price of my bridge in Brooklyn, contact me.....

    If cruising

    George in NY

If cruising is that annoying to you why not find another type of vacation ? Doesn't do any good to come on Cruise Critic and whine.

  6. The Windjammer can be annoying at certain times. On port days finding an empty table for an 8:30 breakfast can be a real challenge, almost as bad as lunch on Day 1. At these times you realize that you are on a mass market cruise line. My personal opinion is the Windjammer is undersized on RCCL ships
