I'm so late to the party but I'm so glad @John&LaLa sail alongs are back!! Enjoying the ride as always John 😊I was so looking forward to hopefully meeting you and LaLa on the Mariner Bermuda cruise next year but a wedding made us change plans (is it really that bad if the matron of honor doesn't show up, I ask you? apparently so...)

Fourteen days till Mariner and I cannot wait!!
-
Booked ours for Mariner as a backup! I saw this post and then immediately checked my email and had gotten it! I'll sleep so much better not freaking out about having to have my test results back in time, thank you for this!

Definitely call Royal! If you're past your final payment deadline you'll get the money returned to you as onboard credit, and there are plenty of ways to make sure that gets used up!
I think all told I was on the phone with someone for about five minutes to get it done, but the hold/wait times are killer. I did it while I was at work and just worked through the wait 🤣

USB hub/tower saved our lives last cruise when there were three phones and various other electronics to charge, and they're allowed through security.

As a first time inside cabin goer on Mariner this fall, I will be absolutely appalled if the concierge isn't able to get us reservations in WJ. Could someone tell me where the inside sun deck is, and whether or not it has a view of the ocean? Or maybe show me on the deck plans where the Gold lounge is?
I hope it goes without saying that I'm being facetious and I'm happy to just be back on a ship at all in my inside cabin! Normally get a balcony cuz I'm claustrophobic so this will be an experience all its own. Then again, I plan to spend as many of my waking hours away from the cabin as possible!

I want to do the trollish thing and just shout CK is overrated anyway and then run away, but as a member of the downtrodden never been above a balcony masses I've never even been in there 😄
The oppression is unreal lemme tell ya, having to knock on a door?? How horrifying!! Oh the humanity!
You get what you pay for and if you're in a JS you're decidedly not paying for all the perks and benefits of the full-blown suite guests. It's a great deal to a sometimes sailor like me who will spend maybe a few hours over the course of the entire cruise in the room and conscious long enough to enjoy it.

They are plastic 'jell' bands. Quite stretchy and easy to pull on and off. They must be worn whenever outside the cabin.
Thank you!

must wear the bracelet - this week it is green
Question for you or jam, whoever is quicker on the draw/more readily available--are the bracelets like the flimsy paper bar/other venue wristbands or are they something more durable, like the kids' muster station wristbands (which last time I had one almost twenty years ago were made of a thick, flexible plastic)?

Hi guys, sorry if this has been asked and answered already--I searched the thread and couldn't find it!
I put in two offers and now both are showing pending, and I can only modify one offer and not the other. I know pending is usually a sign that we might have gotten the upgrade, so will one or the other show expired in the coming days?
(If it helps, the lower stateroom category is the one that's showing pending and can't be modified.)

Excited to follow along! We're on Mariner next month 😄

Nice! Ironically the drink package at $62/day plus gratuity was almost as much as the cruise itself. 😂
This will be my first cruise post-covid and first time on Mariner. I did Independence right before covid hit but other than that, I’ve only done Oasis class on Royal. Looking forward to Mariner.
Mariner was my first ship as an adult, I love her! She's just big enough that she doesn't feel too small. Hope you love her as much as we do!
And yes...What I paid on the drink package was about the price of my cruise. Still a little steamed about that but que sera sera 🤣
-
Yup! I'm booked on Mariner for the 10/18 four night sailing, two people in an inside cabin for $675 total. The least I've ever paid for a cruise!!

Congratulations on your wedding, first of all!
I would like to think you could change the name on the reservation with no problem, but I would email RCI just to be sure (I used the contact form on the website (here) and got an answer in a couple days.)
I do know from experience if your name on your passport/ID differs from what is on the reservation, you will need to show proof of how the name changed. For instance, I don't have a passport, and my license and birth certificate are under different last names, so I needed my marriage license to show how I changed my name. If they won't let you change the name on the res that might be the route to pursue, just ask 🙂

I remember those it would be after dinner in the Mdr and you would keep the shot glass
Cant remember what shots they were thou
I just looked in my bar and the metal ones have the logo on one side and on the other it has loving cups stenciled on it
The glass ones just have the logo
Thanks for unlocking that memory!! My parents had a full set each of the metal cups from the cruise we took when I was a child--I remember them as being tiny metal hurricane glasses in rainbow colors! I'll have to ask my mom if she still has them!

Note that people may be quoting the “before gratuity” prices on the drinks packages.
This. Most packages are going to be the cost plus 18% gratuity in my experience. (Food, beverage, and spa packages, anyway.)

I can't wait to have another lavender daiquiri in Schooner, play trivia, lay out by the pool with my book and a pina colada...And to just spend time with my husband on our tenth anniversary cruise.

Does anyone know if there is cell service on CoCoCay?
Depends on your carrier and plan. I had service when I went but I def had to pay a roaming charge when my mom called 😝

I'm late to the party, thank you SO much Bird for doing a sail along! We're booked on Mariner in October and seeing a sail along is giving me so much hope it'll all go according to plan.

I'm sitting on my hands, thankful that moving expenses so far have kept me from putting a down payment on the Halloween 2021 Allure cruise out of PC. I'd like to think we'll be well out of the danger zone by then, but there's no telling.
plus we're trying to convince my best friend to come with us and that may take a bit more time yet.

Biggest regret I'll ever have was missing the $18 drink package last year. Early on we thought, "there's no reason, we don't drink that much." HOO BOY.
Ended up buying it later. Full price for three was half the cost of our cruise fare. I was miffed to say the least, still kick myself for not jumping on it. 😬

Here are some martini suggestions:
French martini
Green tea martini (Whiskey & Peach schnapps)Caribbean martini (Mango & Coconut rum)
Lavender martini
White Chocolate martini (with Butterscotch schnapps)
Hazelnut martini (Frangelico, Vodka, Bailey’s)
Wholeheartedly second the lavender daiquiri in Schooner. I still dream about those.

Was just there with Mariner and there was only us and an MSC ship in port, can confirm. Tons of construction going on.
