I’m so jealous! We were supposed to be on the Crown to Alaska the last week of May. But we took Covid test early like you and one person had it. So we didn’t go 😪. Have fun!

I know that Princess requires the PCR test. We are using private insurance, Travel Insured International, so I’m not sure of the Princess process.
-
That happened to us and we were offered FCC which we didn’t want so we are using our Travel Insurance. Just be sure to cancel within required time (for us it was 2 days) and some insurance (including Princess) requires a certain kind of (positive Covid) test.

Some doctors are advising patients to not use Paxlovid if their symptoms aren't severe. There is growing evidence of rebound COVID related to Paxlovid. It both happened to a friend of mine and to none other than Dr. Fauci. Another friend's doctor did prescribe Paxolovid for him but told him not get it filled unless his symptoms got worse. They never did so he recovered on his own.
That's the problem with COVID, last year's, last month's, even last week's protocols aren't necessarily appropriate to this week.
With the regard to quarantine, I think the cruise lines might be best served by simply offering a quarantine cabin rather than requiring it. I can see in the case for separate cabins in the case of negative-testing partner, but it should be personal choice.
It was a “miracle” drug for me.

That’s why it’s so important to have really good insurance. We had to cancel our cruise because 1 person out of 4 tested positive. Our doctor said you have to have symptoms for at least a day before the test will be positive. That has been our experience also.

I took a celebrity cruise this year and booked a handicapped room(needed for the size if you have a scooter, wheelchair, or walker). I travel with a walker and a transport chair. The chair comes in handy, even if you can walk, for those long distances on the ship and on excursions. Celebrity staff was very helpful and proactive.
-
We had to cancel too because my daughter tested positive for Covid four days before our cruise. We had other insurance so we didn’t take it, but we would’ve been given FCC even if we had no insurance because it was Covid, according to Princess.

They let my brother enjoy both verandas in January.

Good, we feel the improvement each morning, slept well again overnight - good appetite, she wants to go to Taste for breakfast 😁😁😁😁😁 Too late, I said - how about The Local for that loaded hot breakfast, juice, coffee & plate of fresh fruit. We aren't entirely symptoms-free yet, did another BinaxNow yesterday, 2 lines - didn't take more than 10 minutes to begin showing up on the slide, not going anywhere until next week at the earliest & not without the KN95 stepping outside to take out garbage or package deliveries. BIL has thus far, managed to isolate & keep the other 2 ladies safe from possible secondary exposure, now that they've been home for 5+ days.
As of this moment, we are on track, on course - and revising or cancelling plans to cruise this Fall, within 125 days already / past final payment-cancel without penalty ... not much happening with the Roll Call, yet.
> > > This is an edited 'transcript" - verbatium from that week of ours' social media club this morning (personal data, deleted) - a partial, non-verified snapshot of what was going on/happening post-cruise ... it's not good, fueling community spread quietly and under the radar. On the plus side, everyone has been (should) immunized and most boosted (hopefully) -

Yes, my husband tested positive and got sick on Friday. I have mild pneumonia.
Reply10hEditedDoctor at Urgent Care told me you have to have symptoms at least a full day before you’ll test positive. I was vaccinated and twice boosted and got it. My husband did not. The PaxLovid worked fast and was a lifesaver (literally).

If you contact the special needs department for NCL, they may be able to provide your mother in law with a shower bench.
It’s the way with every hotel I’ve stayed at.

It’s probably because they want to have that floor available for Covid quarantine. That’s what happened to us in January only there wasn’t another accessible cabin to move us to. So we were stuck with all the quarantined people. We didn’t get Covid surprisingly.

I highly recommend the garden tour. It’s right by the port and there is a shuttle. There is also a golf cart at the garden that will drive you up the hill if you need it. The beautiful gardens abut the ocean and it is staggering! We booked same day, on the ship, and were the only two on the excursion.

I have that kind of phone too and got the app with no problem. Do you have too many other apps?

We were supposed to be on a cruise this week but cancelled because my daughter (who was going with us) tested positive for Covid. Now I have it. Went to Urgent Care to get anti-viral and tested negative even though I had a sore throat that day. Doctor told us we must have symptoms at least a full day before you will test positive. I tested positive on home test two days after starting symptoms. You could wake up feeling bad the morning of your cruise and assume you don’t have Covid because your test was negative but if you went, could be spreading it and not know it.
-
One of us tested positive (after two plus years) just before this cruise, so we all cancelled. Now two of us (out of four) are sick. Two had two boosters and younger two had one booster. Enjoy your cruise out there.

Thank you.

They adjusted our Juneau excursion by an hour because our arrival time changed. They automatically cancelled and credited my card when they cancelled Ketchikan. We didn’t get an email either time.
-
It was probably a wipe. The packaging says they’re flushable; but they’re not.

Is the Fitness Center free or is it part of the spa? How much do you tip for spa services?
-
If your doctor says it’s okay to travel but you just don’t want to, you would need Cancel for any Reason coverage. But it’s really expensive.

My daughter and her husband are cruising from Seattle Aug 27, 2022. For those that have been here before- which port would you whale watch? It looks to me both are good, but if they chose one, what to do in the other port? They like hiking, etc. Thanks in advance!
My husband and son are fishing from shore in Juneau.
Anyone "up" for this new potential cruise ??

No, if I could be in “hyper sleep” the whole time I’m flying; I would. I don’t enjoy it.
