Many experienced cruisers book their own excursions frequently joining other cruisers from their roll calls.  I do some on my own, some with roll call members and some thru RCCL.  Check your roll call and see if anyone is looking for other cruisers to join them.  On two occasions joined with others and hired a guide when we got off the ship, but this can be risky depending on the port(s).  Join the roll call for your cruise and then explore your options.  Happy Sails to you and Mother.

Thanks. I usually book only one or two excursions through cruise planner but that’s when I’m going to only 3 ports. This one is different. Plus I looked just to take trains in most places to get to a main attraction I wanna go to is cheaper but afraid get lost. Lol

So hypothetical here to plan ahead a little. We have  a bid in and lets say it gets accepted 24 hours out and we are at our hotel. How are the bag tags handled? Would we need to find a way to get new tags made at the hotel?

I really doubt our bid will be accepted, but want to be prepared if it is.

They will take care of it at the port. I had the same question when I called Royal. No worries.

I tend to rewear solid colored bottoms ... but to like to change tops ....

I will rewear solid coloured bottoms too. I usually pack for a 7 day cruise:

    2 swim suits

    5 sun dresses

    swim suit coverup

    2 capris

    2 shorts

    3 tank tops

    3 tshirts

    2 flip flops

    1 running shoes for excursions

1 dress for formal night & a pair of heels
1 pair of jeans to fly in and home in with a hoodie.

It totally varies. For my upcoming one, I seem to have gotten it last week. I've been working a lot so I haven't been following as closely.

The assignment is ... ok. I like my position in the ship though not the deck. I could definitely be assigned worse. I'm under other cabins and in a decent part of the ship. This is my second time doing it.

I think in next time if the price difference isn't huge, I'll pick my stateroom but I also might do this again. I'll base it all on price and how much I care on a specific cruise or based on who I am traveling with.

This is my first time doing this and it was a huge savings so I did it. This is also my second time cruising with RC. I looked online and the good thing about it Harmony balcony cabins are not blocked by life boats which is a good thing

  5. It’s myself, my husband, my brother in-law, sister in-law and my Mom. We are thinking Mediterranean cruise in 2021. As we all have cruises next year already planned. So it would be whatever boat is doing that cruise. I’m already on the Allure next sept for a Western Mediterranean cruise.

  6. I’m trying to plan a cruise for my family, 5 adults. (2 couples and my Mom) What is the best option cabins with joining doors or would a suite be best? Never stayed in a suite before only cabins. Can you share your experience with both? Thanks in advance
