  1. I was on the Regal princess who passed embarked and disembarked out of terminal 2 at Port Everglades 3/1 - 3/8 and wouldn't know if I hadn't seen it posted on this page.
  2. Forgive me if this has been discussed before but I'm wondering why Princess hasn't contacted the folks who passed through the cruise terminal at Port Everglades while the infected port employees were in their terminal ? Would they not contact other people on the boat if someone came down with with Coronavirus within 14 days of the end of their cruise? Maybe not?? Maybe its spread so much now that they aren't tracing any longer?
  3. Should I order the plastic sleeves they sell on Amazon for cruise luggage tags? Any particular ones you like?
  4. Do you book dinner reservations prior to boarding? If so, how do you decide which nights to book? We would like to do a Chef's Dinner and Wine Dinner if they are available and don't want to miss whatever night lobster/steak is served in the MDR. We are are party of 3 (myself, husband and 12 year old daughter) cruising Club Class on a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise - will we be seated at a table by ourselves in the MDR or with others?
  5. Its not Princess Insurance but a policy through Allianz. Since there are exclusions listed in the “cancel for any reason” endorsement I’d assume you have to give a reason? The policy was purchased months ago so we are covered for everything except canceling due to fears regarding the virus under the “cancel for any reason” endorsement. At least that’s my understanding.
  6. Don’t feel too bad - our “cancel fir any reason” has a “epidemic” exclusion so we can’t cancel due to the virus!

Anyone know why the US government isn’t stepping in to help or rescue the passengers on these quarantined cruise ship? I heard there are 400 Americans on the Princess ship? Seems like instead of them being hostages in Japan we could bring them back and quarantine them at one of the bases with the others transported out of China? Just wondering?
  8. I was told by our travel agent that 3 days before our cruise the manifest is sent to the government for a screening and background check. She said this where all passengers are flagged if they’ve travelled to China or another restricted place. If you are flagged you get a phone call. This information gave me a bit of comfort to know it’s not just the honor system. She assured me it wasn’t. She said this is always done to screen for passengers that are on do not travel list or have criminal backgrounds that restrict travel.
  9. Forgive me if these questions have already been asked ... why are cruise ships treated differently than resort hotels, etc? I could leave a resort if someone else gets sick in another room? Do these quarantine rules apply to ships cruising in Caribbean waters or are these quarantines because they are in Asian waters? We have a cruise coming up in a few weeks and I am more afraid of being quarantined than getting the virus! One more questions ... who pays if you are kept on the ship beyond the time of your cruise? I was reading our cruise contract and it states "if you are required to remain on board the ship or elsewhere, due to injury, illness or disability or due to action of any government or authority, or for any other reason not the fault of the carrier, you must pay or reimburse Carrier for all resulting costs and expenses including for food, transportation, accommodations, medical and/or repatriation services for you and or those accompanying you. Are these poor people being held hostage going to receive a bill at the end!

  11. If you have a "unforeseen reason" endorsement on your travel insurance policy which list "epidemic" as a General exclusion on that endorsement than you cannot claim you want to cancel due to concerns over how the cruise lines are handling quarantines due to the Coronavirus can you?
  12. We are about to purchase new phones and considering switching from Verizon to T-mobile if the service is better for our upcoming Eastern Caribbean Cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. Anyone with experience with both while cruising? We will be on Princess. Also have upcoming trip non-cruise to Europe so thinking about that as well.
  13. Thank you! We've been looking forward to this trip so we are not anxious to cancel! We are traveling with our young daughter so that likely heightens my concerns. When I called our insurance company I just wanted to clarify our options should things worsen - actually I think the fear of the virus may be worse than the virus itself - meaning panic and holding entire cruises quarantined due to a fever for uncertain lengths of time sounds terrible. Hopefully the panic will dissipate over the next few weeks and we will find it is no worse than all the cases of seasonal flu we have each year in the US. Again, thank you for your well wishes!
  14. How are they checking to see if someone has traveled to China? Hopefully checking passports? Otherwise they could just not disclose. We cruise in less than 30 days. I contacted our travel insurance company yesterday and was told our "cancel for any reason" policy has a exclusion for epidemics so no coverage should we want to cancel for Coronavirus (unless one of us has it or is quarantined). Anyone know what cleaning products, wipes are best to take along? Thanks!
  15. Thanks so much!! We do not drink a lot of soda and we prefer it from a bottle/can when we do so this is very helpful. I think we can survive for 7 days on water, tea and juice at breakfast! Do I understand juice is free with breakfast?
